I've seen Tony with G3 once. He was on keyboards (phenomenal) but he got a set where he played guitar with the boys. Truly amazing and underrated player.
One of the cleanest guitar players ever heard. At 3:39 there is a little confusion with the bass player wich takes Vinnie to make some error, but that's also the magic of music.
Minds eye was an incredible album , totally full of melodic licks and runs beautifully put together . I didn’t enjoy his move away from the neo classical stuff though and into the more bluesy stuff . Wonderful player .
Incredible instrumental... its for Vinnie the same that fear of the dark is for Maiden, hangar 18 for Megadeth, neon knights for Sabbath, far beyond the sun for Yngwie... a milestone in his career. And one of the best instrumentals in metal history!
Agreed - So many different guitar Tabs interpret this section differently (playing lower down on the fretboard). I wish there was 1 version of the right Tabs online!
I've seen Vinnie a few times. In some shows he turns his effects almost completely off, it seems and in others you can hear a bit of reverb or delay. I saw him many years ago on 2 different days in the same month, Columbus Ohio and I think the second show was in Cleveland Ohio and you could clearly hear a difference in his effects. In the first show, he was very clean and raw sounding, I could hear every note, but I didn't think it sounded like the record. In the second show, he had a little bit more effect going on and he blew the roof off the ceiling! In my mind, I was thinking I'm glad I saw that particular show twice, because If I had missed the second show, I would have had a different impression of him. I went out and purchased all of his content after that show.
Instrumentals are good. But if its too many like 1 whole album and the following albums are all instrumentals i just find it too boring. Cause everything sounded almost the same like scales, speed arpeggios bla3. Can't find the speciallity of that said guitar player. Furthermore guitar player playin' instrumentals are too many out there. I also wondered if anyone wants to sing for them.
Cool. It's good to see Vinnie playing some of the old Mind's Eye stuff live. I hope he schedules some more shows with Tony MacAlpine.

@@alvinfung5684 I don't know if I agree with him being underrated, I've never heard anyone underrate him, but he is awesome.
Fantastic song. It also reminds me of a great time in my life.

I love most of his songs. So skilled and beautiful. Thanks for your compositions. I will hear them for the rest of my life.
Finally he played it live.....it is a difficult one for a live.....
That part on 1:28.... breathtaking
