Al, A Chevrolet Silverado 23 years parked i had visions of Derek from Vicegripgarage. Al, Fudge another great episode lads.
Also Kevin from junkyarddigs
Putting Fudgy in the engine bay is like slamming him in the hot box. Glad you didn't shut the bonnet 😂😂
Put a sprinter engine in it, That would be cool 😁
For some reason, after seeing this video. Ive got one hell of a hankering for an American V8... my heart is up to the punishment, but my head is saying "fuck that" 😆
Tommy two knob age radios are the best. Plastersage plants are a bonus too. 😄
Top video both of you.
That was bloody brilliant! I absolutely can not wait for the next episode to come out. You boys are youtube gold, every episode has me in stitches. I can now see why my late father loved you guys so much. Amazingly brilliant 👍
Pt.3 will be fitting a Merc Sprinter Diesel😁😁😁
Would probably cut fuel consumption in half.
That’s a great big American land yacht. Great video Al and Fudgy
Loving the high security lock on the outside of the door 😂
Brilliant look forward to the next episode
yep Derick will get it going video link be a great laugh get the old lightnin wurller goin and new set of sparkalators thrown in and the fuel make it happener fitted and bring the thunder box in action yea yep and will just pretend we didnt see the oil gauge not working yet
These videos are great. They come out on Sunday evening over here in Oz. It'll be good to see this ute go again.
Great video lads, as always. I hope you realise all about the unintended expenses that come with buying such a top quality piece of turdeage. In that, before you start driving your titanic pickup, you need to be wearing the pukka correct attireage. 1. 2 pairs of worn out denim dungarees. 2. A pair of very old yellow "Caterpillar" baseball caps. 3. A pair of white "die hard" style vests. Soak the lot in oil, then kick the lot around the dirt in the yard then they're fully appropriate to be worn. I know all about this as its been on tv so it must be true!!!! Like alot of others I loved Fudge's RS2000 t shirt, did he change it to keep it clean?
Yes that wouldn’t stay white for five minutes 👍
Put the distributer in and you will have oilpressure👍
I just love your videos👍😃
I’ve seen a few videos of these V8’s where you can drive the oil pump gear via the distributor spigot. Some do it that way to build up oil pressure before the first run. I can’t remember whether the cam shaft timing chains were on at the time. “Junkyard Digs” have a done a few of these vehicles.
Brilliant video lads ,had one of these back in the early 90s when I lived in Pennsylvania, it was a 78 brought it from a mechanic $850
Few new tires and a Service drove it for 4 years went everywhere in it never broke down,👍
When you was backing it off the truck i couldn't believe the weight on the thing. I understand now I've seen the half ton of charcoal in it.😅
Oh Jesus it looks like there could be a Ten or Twelve part video to this one? 🤷♂️ thanks for sharing the video
Fudge sitting in that engine bay was absolutely hilarious. I'm sure there'll be more than enough info. on line to help you solve the issues. Surprised to not see you use a compression tester to isolate potential issues especially since you had the spark plugs pulled. Anyway before you progress further (I know you will) it might be adviseable to start drilling for oil before she's finally up and running.
Looking forward to the next videos love old Chevy pickups
Fabulous, would look great as 6d diesels company vehicle, but with a v8 in the uk jeesh you’ll need a credit card or three with those aerodynamics. Now a nice big diesel like what you suggested at the end……..
A great video. Check the threed on the rocker hasn't stripped the thread. We had that once at the engine shop. Get a vrs set of gasgets if you need the head off. Have a good week. Marc from Australia
We’ve had it apart seem to be a failed lifter hopefully 👍
I thought that's how it looked! Like whatever went into the vacuum came straight out the back! 😮
@18.08, keep fit windows
Sure the distributor has a gear on it that drives the oil pump.
I watch enough zip ties vgg pbg and many others to have learnt that much 👌🏿👌🏿🤣🤣
The other o odd one that worked on old webber...was star drops....cleaning....
looks more like truckers tiser than any petrol ive seen
real spanner work no scanner work here am sure you will have it and running soon chaps gr8 vid as always
Another ace video guys 👍👍
Be great to see it running, you and fudge can drive around like the Fall Guy 🤣. Great episode Al cheers pal 👍
Thank you guys so much. After 3 long days of karting in the blazing sunshine ending in a very big hit to the barrier, requiring the chassis now needing some "adjustment". The wife and I needed some up lifting. You guys as always have delivered. Thank you so so much..
Ye probably can, but ye possibly shouldn't. Son had one. It was epic. Every drive was thrilling & an adventure, seeing could he make it to the next petrol station without the 50 quid he'd just put in running out. :-) He sold it to another wide-eyed loon just before it bankrupted him.
My fondest memories of it are heading towards lorries coming the other way, sat on the passenger seat, praying he had his sides wheels right in the gutter so that we weren't too wide for the narrow roads & would clip said lorry using my face as the crumple zone. Such fun. I've experienced less terror by far, on rollercoasters.
My Sunday once again completeth cheers chaps
so how did this boat get from oklahoma to salisbury?........
Brilliant, video Al,and Fudge, this is a great story cannot wait for the next episode on this
Colt cevers might have a few spares, give him a shout. I think he has a few crashed ones😂😂😂😂
Lol..fall guy
Remember it well! 😂
Gotta love the Mr. Bean door security there, should keep all the naughty boys out of there I'm sure!!! :P
As for getting the thing up and running, well, remember that 6.2L V8 diesel that took a week to start? Could always give the thing an engine swap..... :P
If we hadn’t already found a home for it lol 👍
@@6DDIESELSDorset Darn, oh well, Merc swap then... :P
I was watching that you didn't knock your lovely mug off the slam panel
Love fudgies t shirt ! You could have got a F150 . Great engine for his capri . All my 1.6 pinto capris were gutless boat anchors 😂😂
That's rough even for you Al 🤣🤣 Definitely needs a Diesel in it the Yanks pay a fortune for a Diesel Truck lol
You make my day Mr Hemsley and da fudga
I never had Fudgy down as an engine bay gnome 🤭
Another fantastic video from you guys
No no lock that no no that's definitely broken brought back a funny moment with a brown chevy truck same one I think did make me smile them ac windows do an amazing job if working clearly one of mine was working did manage to fix it only had it a few months sold it on for a bonus I'll stop waffling now
Hey guys hope you are well

Great to see another quality mota on the channel 😂 keep your eyes off fuggy I can read your mind thinky about turning it into the fall guys truck from the eighties 😂😂❤ Al could do with his ears lowering 😂 must be hot with all that thick hair 😂 ❤love you guys still the best channel out there ❤
I've been looking forward all week to the trafic eribacar. You've let me down 😂
Don’t worry it’s filmed and coming
@@6DDIESELSDorset good old boy!
An intersting challenge lads 😁, this heat although lovely is draining .
At 35:46 in, I thought the vehicle had messed itself and left a pile of dung by the side of the cab door then realised it was lumps of charcoal that had spilt out. 😂 It could have been some massive American rat droppings from the engine bay.
Had a GMC Jimmy company car in Saudi in the early 80’s, probably early 70’s model, basically same engine. Had a great thirst, but at then 2p per litre it was a loose change fill up. Good luck at the pump and take your credit card.😮😊
Ive always wanted an old American pickup
Another great and interesting video has always al and fudgie 👍
Sunday evening sorted👍
A Great video Al and Fudge
Hi lads, you're idea of putting a diesel engine in for that one is a good idea, obviously you'll have to weigh up parts prices to the cost of just replacing that engine.😁👍👍
New tune on the time lapse!!!!bring the old 1 back 😢
Only once, I wondered if that was an hommage to the fact it's a US vehicle. All the other timelapses had the good old music.
you need to connect a pipe on to the oil pump drive through the distributor hole when you look in it you will see what looks like a Alan key put pipe on that and turn clock wise engine can be left not rotating oil should then fill the lifters then rotate slightly to fill the remaining lifters but i dare say the camshaft is worn on the lobes keep up the good work from another al in Yorkshire
Did I miss a bit if I did sorry , dizzy drives the oil pump like v6 ford's, got to say when you opened the hood ( very American) I didn't think this is going to be a 2 part video , have a cracking Sunday Al
Good point I’d completely forgotten about that 👍
We'll done on trying to get it going lads 👍 👍 👀
That's one American tank of a old pick up at least that's something you didn't buy for a change al 🤣😂 to many bits missing to try get it running it's going to take a while to get it running if you can find all the parts but it wants a proper rebuild or another engine putting in it but might be difficult to find another but the body seems solid but depends wat it's like underneath but good try you two 👍
only 14 secs in and im exited for this one i love a good old yank tank :) i love what u do p.s an evromental update would be good hope u mannaged to sort out the issue with the bins ect :) sending love from reading berkshire
Great video boys fudge great t-shirt my favourite car rs2000 part 2 woohoo
Try American auto parts in redhill they might have some bits or gaskets
Buddy I feel for you , I used to import yank tanks in early 2000s and most arrived in the same state lol.
The in car spares dept on yank stuff seems to be standard lol
However a quick tale I imported a Pontiac formula 400 bull nose in 2001 and all appeared ok it started and ran to some description.
However the shocker was when I removed the passenger seat .
To put it politely I found a pair of red fury hand cuffs and a very large vibrating female pleasure device which tbh made me feel quite inferior as a man it was like a rolling pin .
You never quite know what you gonna find these days lol.
Also with reference to merch in your last video me and Mrs P will Def be up for some merch .
Another excellent west country production .
All the best guys .
Mark and Emily at Rooster Recovery
You sure it wasn't a Fire Extinguisher lol
@@-DC- no I wish it had of been
That is a bag of nails 😅
The tuck is frucked, so don't try starting it😂
2 tickets to bruce spingsteen for 1994, born in the usa.!
The truck said it wants a sprinter engine fitted to it
Noooooo! - I've just got to 25:26 and you've changed your timelapse background tune. I'm so traumatised, I don't know if I can continue watching.
C'mon stuzbot. Be strong. Maybe it was just a momentary glitch in the matrix...
Ha ha just for one bit !!! 👍
Where did fudge get that t shirt I love it
The double grille on those things is so stupid looking. I hope you get it going.
Soak the carb...in sea foam..for cat..cleaning...
Al I have a question for you , in your appreciation for anything transit can you
Tell me what transit engines are good and what ones should be avoided also can you explain what a banana engine is and a smiley transit is and whether they are good buys or a avoid like the plague please ( probably a whole show in there somewhere ?)
Banana is good 2.5 DI fitted up to the smiley aka mk5, mk6 2.4’s arnt bad mk7’s with a 2.4 PHFA coded 2.4 are probably the last of the ok ish engines 2.2 seems to be the troublesome one in the bigger hp’s 👍
Hi Al is the v5 van on the outside lift trying to get off the lift itself looks a little lop sided when you we’re doing your summing up in last min of video, which was brilliant as usual 👍
That’s v5 not v5 😂
Dam predictive text vw
No she’s as solid as a rock sat on 4 7.5 ton stands
Needs a 606 then it could be a daily right upset the yanks
The don't put kerosene sticker melted off
Alan can i ask were you got your mug from ,the tw@t one ? as for the truck why??😂
Its was an eBay special as far as I can remember 👍
@@6DDIESELSDorset thanks Alan 👍👍
Hate them yankee yokes, good and imformative video
Hi Al, sorry slightly off subject… I’m looking at getting a mk2 Vito, what’s the best one to go for? Or is it a bad idea? Lol
Om642 v6 diesel if you can find one !! And watch out they do like to rust !! 👍
@@6DDIESELSDorset thanks mate 🙏 someone said after a certain year they’re not so bad? I’ve seen a couple of viano v6! I assume they’re similar?
Ordinary Bloke. I had one of those about 30 years ago in Kuwait. Take a look at where those petrol tanks are placed and I bet you dont drive it. Don't worry about 1980's American build quality. Just wait until you measure the compression. I suspect you will wonder how they ran at all. They are all as crap as that. I was glad to get a Hi-Lux truck instead. Brilliant video lads and a trip down memory lane with a lot of laughter.
Been watching Mr Hewes, the tank lads, basically going over their tanks, that are exported to the USA, with toothpicks and tweezers to make sure that no British sh*t goes with them and it appears that the Yanks fill their trucks up with crap and anything that goes for you guys to deal with! wtf! Love the vids btw
