  • Saudi Arabia has unveiled plans for THE LINE, a 170 kilometer (106 mile) belt of communities connected without the need for cars or roads. described as ‘a revolution in urban living’, the project has been put forward as a blueprint for how people can co-exist in harmony with the planet. THE LINE will be completely free of cars and streets, with residents given access to nature and all of their daily needs within a walking distance of five minutes. furthermore, the team behind the project says that the linear development of hyper-connected AI-enabled communities will be powered by 100% clean energy.

It's a utopia and a dystopia. A city cannot be built bottom-up, it's rather based on relationship between various economic, social, environmental etc factors. A city grows and expands according to it's needs which are changing with times. There's no vision for this place. Many times gvmts tried and failed in both West and East, both yankees and commies. It will also be a digital prison with no respect for privacy. A cynical data collection farm. It's gonna be a waste of money. For the doubters,
What’s utopia about it? The fact it’s going to have two layers beneath the service? The car layers is being done in California by The Boring company. The Spine layer is just basically a Hyperloop like the one being built in Dubai. Everything above the ground is just streetless neighborhoods. It would only coast $500 billions since the line shape made it very coast effective and easy to achieve. Also the water desalination plant is already being built and it’s going to give free drinkable water that coasts nothing since it can reuse water and generate energy doing so, it would also get the energy from the 200 GW solar power plant, which 10% of it is already been built.
Bottom line, this place is located 4 hours away from 40% of the world and 8 hours from 70% of the world. Just between Africa, Asia and Europe. Which would make business kill to locate their business there for logistics and tax breaks.

500 years ago the Europeans found an entire new continent. IT bankrupted the world and we destroyed our religion to something backward and terrible. Allah wants us too innovate. Allah wants the Muslim world to get back to our prime and lead the world in technology and science. You're stupid for saying these ideas are bad. So the plan is that people should have everything within a 5 minut walk, so super controlled plans about which business are allowed to be in which location and stopping people from expanding the city with new houses north and south of "the line" sounds like an idiot playing a building simulator on his laptop🤪

@@alkaseh0o you mean an authoritarian, technocratic, Orwellian, one world government’s wet dream?? The 1% elitists controlling every aspect of the planet & all of its resources by convincing the people they should decide how you live your life OR IF you live for that matter... all done in the name of “Safety” or “the greater good”...

@@alkaseh0o working harmonious with nature does sound really good, however beneath the pleasant sounding words what this will really mean for humans is that there will only be a very small percentage of areas that we will be aloud to travel, (via public transport) everything else will be off limits to human/public access.. That will be reserved for wildlife only.....

@@alkaseh0o Understanding the concept is something you clearly don't do. He is talking about everything within a 5 minute walk, as in boxes containing what he decides you are allowed to eat, own and have. Which means businesses are not allowed to sell anything else then what he decides they should sell at that location - which goes against any business in the world. Furthermore look at ANY city on the planet and tell people that they are not allowed to expand the city north and south of a certain line (as in that case the concept goes out the window). If you do stop people from expanding a city (or limit businesses), the housing prices goes up and jobs go down. In any case the concept will die
