TLDR:
Topping A90D - Smooth Linearity King, Widest Soundstage
Topping A70 PRO - Linear with Thick Heavy Bass (Too Aggressive Sounding)
Schiit Jotunheim 2 - Most In Control Powerful Sound with Slightly Aggressive Treble and Smallest Soundstage
Hey, great test. Can you say something about the location of the enemies? I would also be interested in the RME ADI-2 in comparison.
I have an ASUS XONAR STX with UNi drivers and am looking for a successor
@P0w3rp1ay Thanks! And yes of course. The RME has a great presentation in the staging department and great positional accuracy. Lots of details and nuances too. If you can afford it, it's a no brainer
@@AQUPAS Oh no.... You can't say that. Now that could put a big hole in my wallet 🤣🤣
@@AQUPAS I have still one question. Topping A90D or RME ADI-2. What is better in terms of location and stage?
@P0w3rp1ay lol true. But you'll never need to upgrade again. Many willl consider that as an end game setup.
this is my little secret for gaming. The setup is missing one variable, and you can pin point every incoming footstep.
Awesome video. Thank you.
Very curious which one is better the rme adi 2 pro se version which is a step up from the rme dac your using in this video or the A90D
I know with the rme adi 2 pro se it has a phono pre amp to rip vinyl and you can plug in headphones or iems into it through the front im stuck choosing which one to get as a budget isn't a issue for me atm.
You have a great headphone audio setup.Which headphone amplifier from these 3 do you recommend for my Sennheiser hd600's and Smsl su9 dac?
Can't decide on Jotunheim 2 or Topping A90D
Thanks! If you are after a thicker and warmer sound, the Jot 2 is for you, out of them all it is also the most powerful when running in balanced. The A90D is much more of a laid back neutral sound with great dynamic range, soundstage and well measuring
@@AQUPAS Ay thanks for the response, the hd600's and su9 already give me a warm, musical, and transparent sound so i think the neutrality and dynamics of the A90d will pair up nicely. Thanks again.
Can i ask which amp has the lowest noise floor with sensitive iems?
In order from best to worst.
1. Topping A70 Pro
2. Topping A90D
3. Schiit Jotunheim 2
@AQUPAS ah, do you find a big difference in noise floor between Topping A70 Pro and A90D? According to the specs, they both appear to share the same THD + N rating of 0.00005, which is very low. I'm not sure if that's what measures noise floor
@radiofreealbemuth The A90D noise floor is very very faint, but audible through sensitive iems, where the A70 Pro is almost pitch black from my testings
@@AQUPAS ah, I'm surprised the A90D couldn't live up to its predecessor A70 Pro. I heard the L70 also has an inaudible noise floor, so maybe they were onto something with the 70 series. Do you also have a DAC suggestion that has inaudible noise floor/black background to pair with the A70 Pro?
