Thank you very much for your time making this. It was very accurate! I had no problems. It was very helpful, having the list of tools I need. Very happy, saved lots of time.
@300intech Yes it is probable that on other applications you may have to remove the air intake hose. Even on this truck that would have made it slightly easier.
Not too sure I want to do this now after seeing the vid.. However a dealer will charge me 3 to 4 hundred dollars just for the alternator itself so yes I do want to, I see you are selling them for about $140. so I'd save money just on parts alone. By the time you throw labor charges in I'd be saving a bunch of money. I'm disabled. Doing things like this cost me pain and energy but for the savings alone it's worth it if I can do it.
I have a 97 expedition XLT. Changed alternator and battery but it still will not hold a charge. AutoZone tested the new alternator and battery both are good. Any ideas??

What even happened with the belt? You skipped right through it! No audio! If you have a video on how to loosen the belt you could have at least included a link in the video.

@Alpi2574 You have to remove a bracket that holds a hose close to the engine. This allows you to move that hose down and out of the way.

Question. Why didnt you pull the large air hose and radiator hose? I personally find this is an easy job if you remove the items that block the view.

Can you use a 2003 alternator on a 2000 Ford Expedition
@fordloversburnruber Thanks for addition!
Thanku for the instruction
+Jennifer Jones Thanks for checking us out!
There should be a number on the block that you can have checked.
Can a terminal that is in really bad shape cause problems that would mimic a bad alternator?
If there's a bad contact somewhere on the circuit, it may cause a poor battery charging situation.
Maybe I’ll just have my mechanic do it
I think it'd been easier if the spark plug wires were unplugged and put out of the way along with the intake.
you got 20 plus years as mechanic i have zero years and even i know to take off the air intake tube
+Nick Hays Thanks for the feedback!
this video makes me a little discouraged to try it but i am cheap so lol
