"Wasting in my lonely tower, waiting by an open door. I'll fool myself she'll walk right in and be with me forever more" I love that part because even if he's stuck as a beast forever, he still clings to the hope of Belle coming back. He doesn't even care about his curse anymore. He just cares about her.
I was the one who had it all I was the master of my fate I never needed anybody in my life I learned the truth too late I'll never shake away the pain I close my eyes but she's still there I let her steal into my melancholy heart It's more than I can bear Now I know she'll never leave me Even as she runs away She will still torment me Calm me, hurt me Move me, come what may Wasting in my lonely tower Waiting by an open door I'll fool myself, she'll walk right in And be with me for evermore I rage against the trials of love I curse the fading of the light Though she's already flown so far beyond my reach She's never out of sight Now I know she'll never leave me Even as she fades from view She will still inspire me Be a part of everything I do Wasting in my lonely tower Waiting by an open door I'll fool myself, she'll walk right in And as the long, long nights begin I'll think of all that might have been Waiting here for evermore

This summer I fell in love with a boy who could sing more beautifully than anyone I’ve ever heard. He would sing this song for me and tell me how this song made him think of me. I can’t stop listening to it💔
I like the live action film, and while I still prefer the animated film, there are certain details in the live action film that I wish were in the animated film.
This is classic what I saw first-ism. I'd put money on the fact that every single person who doesn't like or thinks the cartoon is better saw the cartoon first. I saw the live-action first and I think it's better than the cartoon. It's probably what I saw first-ism, but here's my case for why I think it's better. The stakes are way higher in the live-action, which should be expected because it's not directed at 10 year-olds it's directed at people who were around that age in 1991. Why are the stakes higher? Really it's found in the two new songs. The deep dive into why Belle's dad is a widower elevates the entire story. Belle is super close to her father, but for her father she's not just his daughter, she's also the one remnant of his beloved wife he can still cling to. It also demonstrates why she's drawn to Beast. There's a similar melancholy he possesses that she's spent her entire life trying to fix for her dad. And finally this song. The stakes are raised when you hear Beast sing this and the performance is equally important as the lyrics. It reminds me of Come What May in Moulin Rouge. The desperation at which it's delivered makes you realize, Beast doesn't care about his life anymore. It's not about beating the clock on the rose any longer, he is desperate for the care and companionship Belle has brought to his life. These complexities are implied in the cartoon, but are really explored in the live-action.
I really like the live action, I like how it gives off magical romancey vibes. I just don’t really like how they structured a few scenes, one being the library one. I liked it more in the animated one where he gave it to her because he learned that she really liked books
What a remarkable song from the new Disney version of Beauty and the Beast. I love it. In the castle of France, once a human prince who was arrogant, selfish and unkind until a beautiful enchantress cursed him and all who lived with him. After many years living under the spell of the enchantress, Belle came along and changed the beast's life, especially when he saved her from a pack of wolves in the forest. Time passed and the beast eventually began to love Belle after they read books, ate dinner in the dining hall, and danced together. He did not even care about the the spell in the enchanted rose that was losing petals otherwise the spell would never be broken. When Belle left to save her father, the beast let her go and felt the sorrowful pain in his heart. For the first time in his life, the beast finally learned to love, but it was not enough. Belle had to love him until she returned. Wasted in his lonely tower, waiting by an open door. All the beast can do is wait for Belle to come back and she would be with him for evermore. How sadly romantic. Nothing is more important than friendship and love.

Dan Stevens and Josh Groban are great singers and both of their versions are beautiful.
I agree and i loved his song.
I was the one who had it all
I was the master of my fate
I never needed anybody in my life
I learned the truth too late
I'll never shake away the pain
I close my eyes but she's still there
I let her steal into my melancholy heart
It's more than I can bear
Now I know she'll never leave me
Even as she runs away
She will still torment me
Calm me, hurt me
Move me, come what may
Wasting in my lonely tower
Waiting by an open door
I'll fool myself, she'll walk right in
And be with me for evermore
I rage against the trials of love
I curse the fading of the light
Though she's already flown so far beyond my reach
She's never out of sight
Now I know she'll never leave me
Even as she fades from view
She will still inspire me
Be a part of everything I do
Wasting in my lonely tower
Waiting by an open door
I'll fool myself, she'll walk right in
And as the long, long nights begin
I'll think of all that might have been
Waiting here for evermore
Thank you my fellow potter head
