I have an older Passo imported into New Zealand, and IMHO it's a good car except for the column shifter. It's very easy to bump the shifter into neutral when fiddling with the AV controls e.g. volume - which you have to because the car gets very noisy at high speed.

Perodua in Malaysia makes a licensed copy called the Myvi. The global Daihatsu Sirion and the Myvi have normal shifters, but the JDM Passo/Boon have column shifters. The Japanese seem to be quite fond of column shifters in small cars.
