I believe I remember the story about the guy with the broken leg. If I remember correctly, the day after he did the hex, the guy broke his leg in a car accident. Funny thing is, I believe he physically broke another guy's leg too. I think it was a guy from Armoured Saint. The guy pushed Lars down to the ground (this was back when Dave was in Metallica) and Dave broke his leg. He told the guy not to push his friend around. I mean, he also beat up the guys in his own band from time to time back then too, so... 🤣 I'm glad he eventually straightened up. I really believe he's a good guy who deserves a lot of credit for being where he is after all the struggles he's been through. I wish that he and James could have been able to come together at some point and work on a side project. I think that would have been epic, but I think that train left the station long ago.

    Some of Dave's finest quotes:
Rob Halford always looks like Ace Hardware blew up next to him.
We don't have long to play opening for Aerosmith because they don't have long to live. (not sure if he meant because of their age or he was mad at them)
We didn't even tell Chuck Behler he was fired - we just hired Nick and stopped calling him.
I was really into Rush until Alex Lifeson went to the moon. ( I think I remember that - Alex's trip to the moon I mean)
Chris Poland was always giving our driver guff on the Killing is my Business tour so one day when he kept egging him on and the driver kept pounding the steering wheel with his fist, he finally pulled the bus over, got up, and bounced Chris upside down head first down the stairs of the bus and out onto the street.
When he met his wife Pam at a club, he initially told his assistant to go over and tell her he'd like to meet her. So the assistant did and then returned to Dave without her because she said if he wanted to meet her, he could approach her himself. (I actually foresaw the end of that story before I even read it. I can't believe he did that.)

Dave’s vocals have massively improved since his throat cancer which is astounding to me! I heard he took voice lessons to deal with the surgery trauma, which makes sense. The few tracks I’ve heard on their new album is 🔥 In the past he tells the sad story about an incident during his horrific addiction phase when he took a massive dose of either opioids or downers and slept on his left arm for almost an entire day and destroyed the nerves in his arm. He had to get major surgery and relearn how to play guitar. I am about halfway through the Rogan interview and am overjoyed at how his life has turned around and how he is in such a great place physically, mentally, spiritually etc. after such an abusive childhood with a crazed & sadistic alcoholic father and years of ensuing substance abuse! I read his harrowing story in his autobiography a few years back and it is SO compelling, I think I read the entire thing in one day! God BLESS Dave Mustaine, the Man, the Myth, the Legend!!!

I've read his biographies and listened to many interviews he's had over the years and him and I think very much alike. I'm not so sure if it's because him and I are both Virgos lol (I was never really into zodiac signs and that kind of stuff) It's not the ego or narcissistic tendencies, but the humble beginnings of being raised and forced to be a Jehovah's witness, getting out of that and the aspects of being a musician and the experience in all that is what I can relate to.
I was raised in a Spanish catholic cult of sorts, not the kind where they do some weird immoral stuff in the name of god, but a very dogmatic group of Catholics. I didn't have an option to attend different catholic churches, it just so happened that the one I went to with my mother and brother every weekend and every week night at bible study was the messed up church lol All other churches in our town denounced them. When I discovered my love for music and the guitar, it was my escape. Much like Dave I started at a very young age, the problem is that I didn't stick with it for long. Public schools, Bible School and the church became obstacles I couldn't avoid until I came of adult age. Guitar and metal were things I had to keep secret unless I was with my father. Afterall, he was the one that got me into all of it. My mother originally wanted me to be a priest since I had been a very active member with the church and had helped with many of the religious services along with the priest over those years, and so she insisted that I attend a seminary to study philosophy, theology and of course religion. My father at this time didn't care what I did, he was always more open minded than my mother was. He wasn't religious, my hypocritical mother married him more for lustful reasons and his wealth that he had earned from family inheritance than anything else. I was so glad to leave that all behind.

I'm not sure why Dave and his fans continue to say "songs he wrote" on Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning? He co-wrote them. I mean, they have James' lyrics, so right there they aren't 100% his. James contributed riffs in those songs, James wrote the lyrics in those songs. Lars arranged those songs, he turned the riffs into actual songs. Dave likes to say Metallica stole his music but he stole the name Mechanix from UFO! He also used James' Motorbreath riff in FFF (Fight For Freedom). The crying for 40 years has to stop! Metallica should just give those 6 songs to Mustaine and stop playing them, they already hardly play 4 of the 6 songs. And he says the solos are his. The demo solos sound nothing like what Kirk recorded. Kirk said during the making of Hardwired that he used the first bar to get started but the majority of every solo is his. I love Megadeth's first 6 albums. Dave is one of my guitar influences, but I can't stand the guy. Very bitter person. And he was also a dick when I met him, I was 14 and it fucked me up. I also never got my Rattlehead dog tag necklace from the Megadeth fan club I was a part of. 🤣😂

Those examples of Dave "stealing" aren't even comparable. Like who cares if he borrowed the name of a song and trolled Metallica a bit with FFF? Metallica ripped off a David Bowie riff nearly note for note for f*ck sakes. I mean Jump In The Fire was an entirely finished song he brought to Metallica from his previous band. Not even the same thing. Those comparisons are weak, weak sauce

@@TotalMeltdown2 Spoted the Dave lover. You're wrong! You need to do more research! The Jump In The Fire lyrics were even more cringe than the Mechanix lyrics! Thank goodness James changed them both! And I don't care that Dave used the Motorbreath riff in FFF. I was using it as an example. Only Dave lovers get worked up over this shit. Fans of both bands are the best, they know what's up. The "only Megadeth" fans are delusional.

I'd like to know if Dave still thinks magic broke that guys leg. If he was brought up in Jehovas and thought that at 17 that absolutely fine. Cults are dangerous. But did he still feel that way? I assume not. Thanks for narrating bro! Appreciate it!

Dave has every right to be bitter with 'Tallica even today. Think about it for a musicians' point of view: "You write 5-6 songs that basically make up a demo that goes wild and built your bands reputation. You are the ONLY guitar player in the band at this stage. You get a record deal because of that demo. You get fired (reasonably TBH) from what you think is YOUR OWN BAND, you being the oldest person, lead and rhythm guitarist, main composer and do all the talking live as well, being the band persona. You tell them to NOT use your music, they instead USE your music which made the demo famous, then get rich with your music, then use it AGAIN in the second album....while you are a drug addict living a shitty life. I mean, you would hate those guys...

    • @deletedhero5579
      @deletedhero5579 2 года назад

He wasn't the main composer though half and half is more fair, as James wrote 5 songs on kill em all and Dave wrote 4.
And James was the guitarist too he only opted to just sing for just 2 shows.
The thing is they had to fire him he was a train wreck and they were all set to record so that was alway gonna happen.
As for his couple of riffs on ride the lightning, in sure they thought those riffs would go to waste as they probably couldn't imagine this drunken mess having the comeback that he did! And probably thought he'd be glad of the royalties!
He submitted his riff tapes and they used a couple to serve the song. Its not unusual for any band in their early years to have ex members material in their songs. But Dave did come back strong and made a big deal of it so it's become a huge thing haha
