Thank you all for the love on these videos! I am new to rivals but not new to fighting games so PLEASE let me know what I miss and I’ll cover them in later videos. Will definitely credit all of you as well. Thank you!
Two things I'd like to add. To get around the long initial dash, you can do a babydash (flick the slick in 1 direction and reset it to neutral within 2 frames). You can tilt or jab out of this, great for spacing as well as pairing it with wavedashing. Second thing is regarding her counter. You can counter people's recoveries to send them at a diagonal angle down and away from the wall, at higher percents its almost always a free kill
@@bodegon95 no, foxtrotting is using a characters initial dash repeatedly. The benefit of babydashing is that it never enters the dash animation at all, and just moves you a short distance full actionability
You can also cancel the initial dash at any point with walking in the opposite direction. As soon as the walk animation starts, you can use any tilt, altough it will be pointed the other way. Not that it matters with ftilt and uptilt, it is not useful for approaching with dtilt and jab. As a side note: You could technically cancel your dash with another dash the other way and then cancel the last one with a walk in the direction you where initially dashing, to point your dtilts and jabs, but that's mad difficult.
I love Rivals 2, but the only missing thing is documentation and easy to access detailed character guides. I'm looking forward to what the team releases at launch or later, but for now thank you for making this, there's so many things in this game, its crazy!

On neutral special At mid percent (25-40-ish% ), you can s-pummel, d-throw, forward shorthop tap(or very short hold depending on DI) n-special you can get n-special tipper fairly consistently. If your opponent DIs in, that's a free up-air tipper . Probably not the best damage (maybe there's a way to squeeze-in a tipper up-strong instead?), but oh boy is it cool. And coolness has always been optimal on Clairen. B-reverse and wavebouncing (tap)n-special is also a great way to keep the opponent on its toes as an in-DI on a tipper will send them in that perfect up-strong. Decent tool for platform chasing aswel. and well, if they DI out, they'll probably end up off-stage, which is really, *really* good for us. Our disjoints make for good edge guarding tools
Prior to watching the video - I spent at least 10 minutes looking for this video the day before this video dropped. - thanks for posting, had no idea her initial dash was longer than others completely makes sense
You forgot to cover her pummels! Special pummel guarantees a smash attack for back throw and forward throw at nearly any DI, and normal pummel gives you chain grabs. I get so many kills online with special pummel -> back throw -> f-smash. Eventually people learn to special pummel break, but until then its surprisingly free.

Following up from grab is much easier if you jab with B, then do a downdthrow or forward throw. the bad thing is that it becomes predictable, so you need to switch and do variations.
I'm not good enough to know if this is good but at around 80% tipper dash attack into either up smash (no DI), dash in up smash (DI in), or dash away slight charge F smash (DI away) kills. Can get some nasty early kills if you read the DI.
If youre planning on approaching with a tilt, just wavedash instead of waiting the entire duration of your initial dash before doing one. Its another option at the very least
You also get jab fsmash on di out and jab upsmash on di in at high percents. Wavedash jab to cover dash back or dash in works well, it’s pretty non committal as well so there is less risk than going for a grab or dair to get kills. I also wonder if you get the Marth 50/50 with back throw and forward throw. I.e if they DI behind you f throw combos into fsmash and if they do in front of you back throw combos into fsmash. Also, sour dair looks like it combos as well. I want to mess around with that.
