I don't mind Peter and Gwen getting together in an alternate universe or Peter having thoughts or illusions about Gwen. I actually think it's pretty sweet and shows her importance. However, I have an issue when they do the cringe “Peter loves this love interest over the other.” I don't even like it when they do it with MJ. It feels like it devalues the others and the love he had for them. So, even if Peter and MJ or Cat get back together, we have this weird thought that they're just rebounds or fallback options. Unless Greg pulls a twist and this isn’t the “world they always wanted,” I think these types of stories are fundamentally flawed.
Marvel literally published a comic nearly 40 years ago involving Peter telling Mary Jane with these exact words; “I love you more than I ever loved her. Gwen was my past, you’re my future.” And yet 40 years on Marvel are still trying to convince people Gwen was his greatest love when that hasn’t been true for decades.
Slightly disagree with Gwen being super popular. Maybe Spider-Gwen, but people were beyond bored by Gwen in the ‘70s. Marvel has done this before. Peter was given his “Ideal” life during the House of M storyline and that too included him being married to and having a kid with Gwen. Marvel is well aware that fans want to move on, but they don’t care. They want to stay in the past. Forever.
@@MichaelHonscarTotally right about people being bored with Gwen in the 70s. MJ was more popular than her even then and she wasn’t even a serious love interest yet. To borrow a line from Star Wars: Striking Gwen down made her more powerful than anyone could have possibly imagined. The MEMORY of Gwen has deified her.
I’m not really bored of Gwen it’s just her character hasn’t been polished the right way for fans. A good example of Gwen being a interesting character is in the spectacular Spider-Man where she is a friend but eventually becomes a love interest IMO
They made Gwen Peter's true love interest in House of M as well. I like the idea that Peter will always think of Gwen as his true love, but I also want him and MJ to be a permanent couple.
To me, it’s less that Gwen is his true love, and more Peter will always regret her death, and so, in his hypothetical perfect she wouldn’t have ever died, which would’ve caused them to get married and so on. It’s not about love, it’s about removing Peter’s guilty conscience.
I can not take that story seriously considering who made it and who the writer for spider-man house of m is. Thing is like a fanfic made by a fan with nostalgia who put their ship over logic. Insane that writers in the 80's knew to put their biases aside, but not ones in the 2000's
Why wouldn't he. His whole marriage and relationship with MJ was erased from his memories and reality. All he remembers with MJ is breaking up 40 times while he had a full on relationship with Gwen.
@@celestialsoldier622 the only thing that was erased by the deal is the literal marriage. Their relationship happened, as well as everything in it, they just were an extremely serious boyfriend and girlfriend
I had a feeling people would get upset about the newest issue. Personally, I still liked it and thought it was fun seeing what a family between Peter and Gwen could possibly look like. But I 100% agree with everyone else when I say stop bringing Gwen up all the time and LET PETER MOVE ON! If you want to tell interesting stories involving Peter and Gwen together then just reboot the Marvel Universe, give us an alternate universe to follow, or STOP bringing her back and just let her stay dead.
So a couple things. First, I am pretty sure the reason Weisman picked Gwen is because Gwen was the main love interest in Spectacular Spider-Man (TV series). Second, Gwen being Peter's main love interest is not a problem. Daredevil has Karen Page even when he dates Elektra, Wolverine has Mariko and Jean Grey, Scott Summers had Jean Grey when he was MARRIED to Emma Frost and Iron Man has Pepper Potts and they have not dated in ages.
The whole “perfect life where he’s married to Gwen” thing isn’t even original. I’m pretty sure in a Spider-Girl comic, a villain put Peter in a dream state and Mayday saw that Peter’s perfect life was were he was married to Gwen. I honestly find the fact that they just have to keep bringing back Gwen annoying because I just don’t think she adds anything to the story anymore, especially if Peter and MJ are already together, which they seem adamant about not happening. I honestly just prefer Gwen when she’s Spider-Gwen because I think she’s just more interesting than when she’s regular Gwen. I also just prefer Pete and MJ together. That’s just my opinion, though.
Helen and Benny being Peter and Gwen's Kids are a great way to imagine the future between Peter and Gwen. , But I prefer Peter and Mary Jane with their kids Ben and May because Marvel needs to move on from their Obsession with Gwen Stacy. it's a character assassination to who she is. We need new and interesting stuff in the current Amazing Spider-Man run, but instead it's nothing but Trash.
It’s ultimately because of old marvel execs who want Spider-Man to stay in the era before Gwen died and are trying everything to keep him away from MJ, we need new people who aren’t obsessed with Gwen Stacy, that ship sailed years ago.
Agree they need to be removed because this is getting ridiculous and need to stop let Gwen she gone stop bringing her up I rather interesting story with Peter and mj story than this
@@LewisFilmsProductions My take is that Gwen's death was momentous, on the same level as Uncle Ben's death. Deaths like that need to be permanent or they totally miss the point
Who's his current girlfriend in 616A? I don't read that many Spidey comics (and I've been especially avoiding Zeb Wells's Spidey) so I apologise if I don't know much about them
I agree with this. And I mean in one of the Gwen Stacy clone arks (there has to be like 4 now), Peter got to say goodbye and put to bed that MJ is the woman for him. But now Gwen Stacy is his dream woman? IG this is trying to coerce that Wells wants to keep MJ separate? But the way I see it, this is Greg Weissman’s way of halfway telling stories that could be seen as either a continuation of 616 comics or of the Spectacular Spider-Man show. I mean Miles and Shift are here. But so are characters at the coffee shop that are from his show. And since in this run Peter is with Gwen like he was in the Spectacular Show, where we also had Jackal, it seems like Weissman is giving us an adaptation of a Spectacular Spider-Man reboot that also fits with the current 616 events and timeline. But I definitely see what you mean about the current comics bringing back stuff. Like Gwen Stacy died in comics 50 years ago. My mom wasn’t even born yet when she passed. It’s not sad anymore. I get they wanna keep some of the main events that are key parts of the backstory like Uncle Ben, Gwen, and the Black Suit for new viewers coming into comics. Kinda like when you’re in a storm and watching the news and the weather guy keeps saying the same things every 2 minutes. But they could keep with lore. And if they really want to go back to that era, reboot the universe. No one will shame you, Marvel. DC has done it 4-5 times.
They officially destroyed Peter x MJ in the 616 universe with this comic! MJ is supposed to be Peter’s endgame! She’s the one who came along and saved Peter and made him love again after Gwen died. She’s the one who helped Peter get through his worst times as both himself and Spider-Man! And fun fact, MJ knew Peter was Spider-Man from the very beginning because she saw Spider-Man come out of Peter’s window when he went after Ben’s killer. MJ never told anyone and showed for years that she cared about Peter Parker, not Spider-Man because Spider-Man is just an aspect of who he is. Yeah it sucked that Gwen died. Yeah Peter and the fans would’ve been happy if she lived. But MJ came along and earned her place in Peter’s heart and rightfully became his destined soulmate! Now this comic makes it look like MJ was just Peter’s rebound girl for all these years and Peter never truly healed and moved on! At least we’ll always have Renew Your Vows
Nice video. This was an extremely disappointing issue and I'm ready to stop following this comic. Gwen Stacy died in "TASM # 121" back in June 1973. I was 11 years old back then. At that time, I didn't think too much about the death because it became frustrating Peter couldn't tell Gwen his secret identity and their relationship was becoming boringly tedious. Since 1973, "TASM" had many storylines bringing back Gwen Stacy as a clone, starting with "TASM # 144" in February 1975. Even though MJ is mentioned in "TASM # 16" in September 1964 and shown with her face blocked in "TASM #25" in March 1965, Gwen Stacy is introduced in "TASM # 31" in December 1965, and MJ is finally introduced in "TASM # 42" in Agust 1966. Consequently, Gwen was introduced 1st. So this isn't a different universe than 616. This issue is terrible. It was implied these plotlines were going to be real and Peter was going to date Gwen probably from a different universe in the multiverse and Miles was going to date Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel. Not Dopamine-induced fantasies. I agree with LewisFilms, this fascination with Gwen Stacy is intolerable at this point. Does this comic overlap with the "ASM" Zeb Wells run or not? It doesn't seem so. This is where Marvel can't coordinate comics at all anymore. I don't know if this is some side story to the Earth-616 or if it's just taking elements from the 616 "ASM" trying to make this comic interesting. Either way, I'm not buying it. A great opportunity was missed here, as I was hoping this was the continuation of "The Spectacular Spider-Man" cartoon series, but it seems to be a hybrid of some sort, as Kenny was in the cartoon and the 1st run of "The Ultimate Spider-Man" universe. I may just watch reviews of this comic moving forward as this issue has caused me to lose all interest in following this comic. Keep up the great work. Cheers.
Totally agree with you - Gwen Stacy died a long time ago, and her death was a momentous event in comics, and in the life of Peter Parker. Leave her lie in peace and let's move on. Mary Jane is still alive - how about we bring her back front and center (and I don't mean as that travesty of a character - "Jackpot").
This is the sort of thing that has made me resent 616 Gwen Stacy as a character, to the point that I find her to be overrated. Having read the original issues she was in, including her death of course (the story still holds up till this day imo), I find when Marvel does shit like this to be really insulting. Gwen Stacy is an important character but she was a product of her time. And yes she was Peter's first love, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be capable of loving someone else even more. She also, due to being a product of her time as I mentioned, is not nearly as interesting as MJ. I'm sorry but she's not. It almost feels like Marvel loves the idea of Gwen, in an almost religious kind of way, but they don't really care about her as a person. Because frankly, she started to suck as a character right before she does the most significant thing she has ever done in Marvel Comics, die. She also hated Spider-Man due to the death of her father. It was a relationship that was doomed to fail even if she didn't die imo. Not only that, but in the same run, during the first clone saga, Peter moves on. He and MJ develop as really close friends and then as something much more. And she knew he was Spider-Man the whole time, as shown in Kurt Busiek's Untold Tales of Spider-Man. But of course, Marvel likes to pretend us long time readers don't remember this so they can keep shoving Gwen down our throats while ultimately not committing to anything because, let's be honest, she's the perfect partner for Peter, because she's dead! Using the revisionist narrative that Gwen is his "one true love and there can never be another" is much more convenient when that true love isn't alive. Gives them an easy reason to keep Peter single forever. So yeah, I've grown to resent Gwen after awhile. It's also crazy that Gwen died freakin 50 years ago! You know how editorial wants us to move on from One More Day cause it's been "so long". Yeah, they're hypocrites, since they've been obsessed with their perfect saint of a non-character who died half a century ago. I know this sounds harsh and Gwen certainly isn't at fault with how she's been handled for sure, but god damn it's the truth. She was a good character, until she wasn't, and then she died in one of the most important comics of all time. As far as I'm concerned, Spider-Man Blue is the final statement on Gwen's tragic death. It's a beautiful story and to me, it gives closure to that relationship and that time in Spider-Man's history. Everything after that save for Ghost Spider (who is way cooler) and the new, slightly more sinister Gwen in the current Ultimate Universe is just treading on the same tired point. We get it members of Marvel editorial, you were 10 in 1974. But for goodness sake, give the poor girl a rest.
I think of Gwen like Lana lang being the first love but eventually friends. Hell Spiderman can learn a few things from Superman comics Supes can date Wonder woman & Lois yet his OTP has always been Lois. Marvel is weirdly holding onto Gwen for some reason.
Kinda shame they did it for clickbait, would have been interessting if it was a Gwen clone yeah was done before, but this time could have help him with his break up from MJ and let him finally see that he needs a fresh cut (let the past behind) and a new longstaying loveinterest/girlfriend Think at this point marvel should introduce a new girlfriend and just forget Gwen and MJ and should stop teasing fans with what could have been
Yeah this is like the beginning of the Zeb Wells run where we first saw MJ with Paul and those 2 accidents and speaking of the run Norman is back as the Green goblin as they should just admit that the Green goblin is Norman’s true nature as the Misconception of Norman Osborn and the Arcade aka the Marvel Riddler.
I personally don't have that much of a problem with this, this is just an imagination or kinda like an elseworlds story of Peter having a different life so I don't really have a problem with him being married and having kids with someone other than MJ. Peter being married and having kids with Gwen has never happened in comics. I don't see why Peter has to end up with MJ in every time he could end up with someone too. I for one would like to see stories where he ends up with different people. I also don't have much of a problem with Gwen being Peter's true love because that's what Stan Lee originally intended. Also from Peter's point of view I would like to imagine he still just hasn't recovered from her death so he just thinks about her more.
I’m not that bothered like the story is still the same for me, with or without it. However, they won’t let Peter move on from her and it’s holding the character back
I swear it makes no sense but in the case of nick spencers spider man run it makes sense for kindreds story it makes senses because its the original harry osborn soul and that makes sense (the issue after that when norman told clone harry that he was the son and hes so sorry made me sad)
Doesn’t change the fact the films and TV shows (which most casuals know Spider-Man by) have Gwen with MJ’s personality, while they ruin MJ in these shows
The only way this makes sense to me is if Arcade and the other guy need to know as much about his life as Spider-Man as possible. It would make sense then why Uncle Ben isn't back, Peter wouldn't be Spider-Man without his death. If they were just after his secret identity then they've got it already. Heck, there's no reason to even keep Peter and Miles alive anymore they caught them so there must be something more going on. I guess Gwen has come to represent a more innocent time for both Peter and us readers, but that excuse feels played out. Honestly, I think it would have been more interesting if his wife in this world was some fusion of MJ, Gwen, and Felicia like that one episode of Justice League unlimited where Superman is forced into a dream of his ideal life and is married to a hybrid of Lois and Lana.
Maybe its because if Gwen is married to Peter means he saves her and didn't go through trauma with bridge? I think it was as simple as it, the best life is without you making any errors, always hit the bulls eye.
Peter doesn't owe anyone anything. He can even dream of Deadpool or a harem with all his mistresses... MJ is nothing to him at the moment. Just a pathetic traitor and the worst heroine in the world.
His dream should involve gwen being alive, but not her being his wife, those two where having problems before her death and she had a hatred for spider-man so big that she fought with peter for it. Also, how is it this but not his own daughter being alive💀
Maybe I interpreted it differently but, I didn’t think they were trying to bring back Gwen I thought it was a dream/allusion. Either way I think it being Gwen rather than Mj makes perfect sense because if it’s showing Peter’s perfect life his perfect life would be one where Gwen doesn’t die therefore Peter and Mj doesn’t get together in the first place. Just my 2 cents anyway, love the video keep up the Spectacular work Lewis.
Thanks! And yeah it was a dream sequence. The issue I have is that everytime they have the opportunity to bring Gwen into the fray, they always go with it. Whereas there are new and fresh stories to tell.
I actually always shipped Miles and Kamala so I'm happy about that (even though it's fake) but agree that Gwen Stacy is being way to overused. I'm so glad Insomanic chose Cindy Moon (Silk) over Spider-Gwen, Cindy is more interesting then Gwen in my opinion.
Honestly to me it just feels uncessary. Peter has had dozens love interests, there's nothing stopping Marvel from just saying "alright let's bring back girlfriend XYZ who hasn't been seen in years for another run with Peter." As an example Sara Bailey, a bank teller who Peter ended up going on a brief time travel adventure where they dated and he was aiming to propose to her but she lost her memories of the event. Maybe give her a second turn.
I'm surprised we haven't yet gotten a comic series (to the best of my knowledge) that did a full role reversal with Mary Jane being rewritten as Peter's first love who's killed while Gwen comes along next to help him learn to love again and ultimately become his soul mate. Clearly, that's these people's dream fan-fic. If certain members of Marvel Editorial dislike MJ that much and favor Gwen so adamantly, they might as well go that route in yet another elseworld story or reboot.
1st comment and time for me to live up to my name again. Ok so, i honestly feel Gwen os peters one and only, and i was abot disappointed that the new ultimate Spider-Man run didnt feature her and Peter together but, thats just me. Honestly, if i was in charge of Spider-Man at marvel, this is how id move forward. 1. Bring gwen back, 2. Have her and peter be together and married, and id make a big deal out of it 3. KEEP THEM TOGETHER! 4.Use miles for younger Spiderman stories.
Fair enough! I respect that decision, it’s bold and new. The only thing that would deter me from that story is the fact that it would kinda undo everything Gwens death meant and the stories that proceeded it. Would love an ongoing alternate universe of this story tho!
In 616 no. A big part of spider-mans story is about growing up, moving on, and making the best of what you got. 1 of the things Gwen's death taught Peter was to move on and not let tragedy define you. But bringing her back just fells like “if you cry enough you'll get what you want” which goes against that whole lesson.
@@ascendedsavage7040think on this way. Your father left you when you are a kid. So you grew up with the dream to become a great father to your kid (be the father you never had). However, one day your father comes back regretting for leaving you and ask for a second chance, and you give him. Does that mean you can be a bad parent to your kids ,now that you have a father, or that your dream to become a father does not exist anymore? Of course not, the experience about your father leaving you shaped you already and if he comes back, this will not change your personality or dreams. Same thing with gwen stacy if she comes back.
Kinda funny that you've mentioned this. Because recently, Gwen Stacy (The Earth 616 version) was mentioned a lot in Gwen's (Spider-Gwen/Ghost Spider) book by Stephanie Phillips that just started. Having had only read about one of the first volume to Gwen's comics, I do not know how to feel about this version bringing up her 616 counterpart's death. Kinda feels like the book was projecting or whatever onto Gwen. But yeah, Marvel seriously needs to move on from this event.
I love peter and gwen with their children's Benny and Helen. But it all fantasies creation by arcade and mental. Peter need to move on of gwen and mj. And find out who he really am. Peter will always cherish the memories of gwen and their children's Benny and Helen. Peter will always love them, and never forget them. I hope marvel would make new alternate dimension of Peter and gwen do gets married and have children's with spider power. And join the spider verse society.
Maybe it my perspective but I feel that with most Spider-Man stories recently involving Gwen it that Peter never got over her death. That he could never really have a real relationship with MJ, Felicia bevause he still have this idea that gwen was the perfect girl for him. Personality while never was the bigest fan when it focus on the romance. I believe 616 Peter need to move on from Gwen. Not that he need a new girlfriends, but accept that he can be happy after her death and move on. It just something i notice alot, because i remember a story involing Mayday trying to get her father out of a hynosis from Mysterio where we was in a dream state of his perfect life. It involving him married to Gwen instead of MJ with their son being the new Spiderman.
That's why a lot of us are angry . He DID move on. He found the love of his life, he had a daughter with her, but it's always writers and editors who don't like the pairing who try to taint it. One of those is the story you mentioned.
@@jacobrivera1721 it's insufferable. The worst part is that literally every other character can be character assasinated. Peter? Working for the man who destroyed his life and having more simpathy for villains then for his brother . MJ? Living her literal nightmare that made her run away from home and her image being tainted because of out of character writing. Ben? Being turned into a villain when he should have become the spider-man of la and lived there with janine, who herself was turned from a victim to a villain. Felicia? Regressed into a compensation prize. This has made me gain a hatred for gwen that I didn't have before(even if I didn't like that the only reason she became popular is because they took 1610 peter and mj relationship in tasm as well as mj traits and gave them to her). It's just not fair that literally every other character get's destroyed but gwen get's out of this with sins past retconned and put on a pedestal that she doesn't deserve.
Honestly i think alot of moder day writer look at how Gwen was portrayed in tasm and spectacular and have realized that 616 gwen wasn't as interesting, so they want to reconstruct her character, only issue is that its hard to do that with her dead.
They are so obsessed with Gwen, they made the Gwen-verse. They made: Spider-Gwen Wolverine-Gwen Iron Gwen Doctor Gwen Thor Gwen Captain Gwen Even GROOT Gwen.... We need a Gwentervention guys, they have this really, REALLY unhealthy fixation on Gwen...
I am personally done with Gwen Stacy and honestly she has outlived her purpose in my opinion, and personally for me I want peter Parker and Mary Jane married and have her daughter mayday Parker spider girl alive and kicking and letting Gwen Stacy go at least in my opinion.
I love Gwen Stacy as Peter's love interest , to be honest , coz her character from inception till her death was constant , meaning everything was in character for her . Mj is like one day till death do us part and then the next day has an over dramatic breakup with Peter . I sometimes wonder whether to like her , hate her adore her coz there are so many inconsistent story arcs that contradict with her character
@@AutoCan-mb9ey I know what you mean. And that's why I also can't see as a good Love interasst like the other MJ-Fans (sorry but you can't force me to like MJ MJ-Fans). This up and down with MJ's character is allways so tiering to watch.
I love The Amazing Spider-Man films but I blame them for the Gwen Stacey Obsession because ever since those films happened new fans and new Writers want to bring her back Because Of Andrew and Emma's chemistry They want to recreate that for themselves In the comics While poor MJ Is made to look bad all the because the rami Had an interpretation that nobody liked Am sorry Marvel can try all they want but as far as am Concerned MJ will always be Peters true love ❤❤❤
On the one hand, I am against another return to Gwen. She died a long time ago and it's not worth touching her memory. On the other hand, I like what Gwen Peter sees as his love. The MJ fanatics should already admit that Peter loved, loves, and will love Gwen and Felicia. They are just as important to him as the Red. And maybe even more. And Marvel fully supports my position.
@@ahmadkhalaf8952 It's been 5 years in the world of comics! Not 20! People can be married for 10, 20, or even 30 years and break up. This does not mean that they must necessarily be together and not be able to break up and find another love. Stop trying to force her on Peter... The most important thing is that he has a stable relationship with at least someone! It doesn't matter what Peter's chosen one's name is, as long as he is happy.
I mean, im gonna be in the minority here, but im kinda happy he's not on MJ again because we always see her with him in the main story and elseworlds and if not hes always chasing her. Plus, i always wondered what kids that haven't already gone on to be an adult between the two would look like. I want a Renew your vows esk story but with Gwen and Peter. But presonally in the main 616 i agree they need MJ and Peter to go back to how things were before the whole OMD thing becuse they were the ultimate power couple and its obvious MJ still loves Peter in a romantic type of way but just not asmuch as Peter loves her and it actually sucks thst the writers are teasing the fans like this.
I don't have a problem with it what would everyone say if Mj died and nobody let go of her but I understand what your saying but if it Pete perfect life I don't think it should be Mj at all
Well you know why Gwen was going to be in this. She was such a big part of the Spectacular show it'd be impossible for him not to want to bring her in some way. Think you're focused on this one abit too hard
Marvel isn’t obsessed with Gwen. They know that she’s been more popular than she’s ever been what with TASM, Spectacular, and Spider-Gwen being a thing. Meanwhile MJ has been getting less popular over the years. People are more critical over her portrayals in the live action films and more current comic runs. They are having Peter remember her more often. And she’s married to him in a dream world. But it’s not like MJ and Pete aren’t together in other books like Ultimate. It’s not anything to worry about.
That's true. Becouse back than when Marvel decide to let Gwen Stacy die and let MJ as the New love interasst was just the reason that MJ was to that time more popular by the Fans (becouse rebellios Party-Girl to that time was more favoritet in the 60/70thys). Other than that they would not let this famouse chapter with "Gwen Stacy's death" hapened. Stan Lee who is the creator TASM didn't want this with Gwen's death she was planed as Peter's end game not MJ. So with other words Marvel just take the one who is the most popular is with the Fans and this time is it Gwen and not MJ.
Yes, and most of those Gwen adaptations were based off MJ. Gwen fan revisionist history smh. Marvel is obsessed with Gwen, since in the past, Peter moved on from Gwen with MJ. MJ was Peter’s future. Gwen was a boring character when she was alive, then she died. Peter moved on to MJ who was a better character. Until recently they kept ruining their marriage and propping up Gwen.
I think Gwen only worked as a first love Peter's soulmate should be MJ. Peter and MJ are as iconic as Superman and Lois Lane. I love Gwen but MJ is more interesting.
I feel like Peter’s perfect life wouldn’t be with Gwen alone. It would be with Gwen, MJ and Felicia. And maybe with also Betty, Cindy and Kitty like the time a AI wrote a Spider-Man story.
I think you’ve missed the point - Peter getting to live his best life means that his greatest failures as Spider-Man don’t happen. It doesn’t mean that he doesn’t love MJ - which seems to be the issue you seem to be taking with it - just that in Peter’s ideal world, he saved Gwen, and if she lived… yeah, they’d have gotten married. It’s the same thing that happened in House of M.
Idk it could just be me, but over the last decade, I’ve really grown tired of MJ. There are fewer and fewer iterations of the characters that are likeable or interesting, so whenever I see people complain about other love interest for Peter, I’m not sure that the alternative of MJ is any better. Especially with what’s going on in the 616 run, I have zero appetite for Peter to get back with her right away, especially after all crap she’s put him through this recent run. They also ruined what started as a fun arc with Black Cat just to continue to bait people with a Peter and MJ reunion. I like Mary Jane as a character, but I’d also like for Peter to grow a spine and stop fawning after her, especially when time after time, she’s basically told him to get lost. Also, I’m not sure what’s wrong with exploring stories where Peter and Gwen are together. Ofc, Marvel is capitalizing on the recent interest in the character, and one of the best things about the Amazing Spider-Man movies was the chemistry between the two. I think that ultimately, we can have both relationships explored, especially since we can have multiple runs of the same character. That’s the advantage comics have over other mediums.
@@mayotango1317 I think Peter's and MJ's chemistry is great in the second spiderman film. But I really didn't like them together the third film. And I agree, his chemistry with the Gwen Stacey in the third film was really good.
@@donovanlarsen7982 I mean it could be both
I can not take that story seriously considering who made it and who the writer for spider-man house of m is.

Lmao yep
I had a feeling people would get upset about the newest issue. Personally, I still liked it and thought it was fun seeing what a family between Peter and Gwen could possibly look like. But I 100% agree with everyone else when I say stop bringing Gwen up all the time and LET PETER MOVE ON! If you want to tell interesting stories involving Peter and Gwen together then just reboot the Marvel Universe, give us an alternate universe to follow, or STOP bringing her back and just let her stay dead.
Agreeeeed
Even Twitter fans hate this💀💀💀💀💀💀 like I seem thier reaction
So a couple things. First, I am pretty sure the reason Weisman picked Gwen is because Gwen was the main love interest in Spectacular Spider-Man (TV series). Second, Gwen being Peter's main love interest is not a problem. Daredevil has Karen Page even when he dates Elektra, Wolverine has Mariko and Jean Grey, Scott Summers had Jean Grey when he was MARRIED to Emma Frost and Iron Man has Pepper Potts and they have not dated in ages.
Pepper and Tony only happened to cash on on the movie.
@@INFERNO95 They have hooked up in the comics several times.
I Agree💯💯
Honestly i would respect marvel editorial more if they just bring Gwen back fully no game since they love gwen so much
Helen and Benny being Peter and Gwen's Kids are a great way to imagine the future between Peter and Gwen.
, But I prefer Peter and Mary Jane with their kids Ben and May because Marvel needs to move on from their Obsession with Gwen Stacy. it's a character assassination to who she is.
Agree they need to be removed because this is getting ridiculous and need to stop let Gwen she gone stop bringing her up I rather interesting story with Peter and mj story than this
Wow a comic book character coming back to life is unthinkable 😲😡

My take is that Gwen's death was momentous, on the same level as Uncle Ben's death. Deaths like that need to be permanent or they totally miss the point
Off topic I really like the idea of Miles and Kamala as a couple. It really works to me. Espiecally since they get along rather well in other comics
Yeah I get that
I don't like it because miles already has a girlfriend right now unless Miles is going to convert to Islam I don't see her parents allowing it
Who's his current girlfriend in 616A? I don't read that many Spidey comics (and I've been especially avoiding Zeb Wells's Spidey) so I apologise if I don't know much about them
@@SuperWarrior64 if I'm correct its the vultures daughter, or at least someone who uses similar teach to him.
@@revolutionarydragon1123 I don't think that's how that works.
These people need to move on from Gwen
Hot Take I prefer Gwen and Peter please don't hurt me
If this was insta I would've said a certain something else but cuz it's yt

I agree here. Mj is honestly my least favorite love interest
Prefer them too
Me too.
Spider-Man should fight Marvel Editorial that would be a good story.
ok its offical the whole current earth 616 writing staff has something against MJ and are very salty on asm issue 121
Yep 😂
They obviously have something against the characters she didn’t do against wrong they just sad little kids who can’t move on
I think I’ll pass on that book.
Sorry Wiseman.
Oh, and to Marvel Comics:
Gwen dying is a…
*Canon event*
Ah yes marvel is "obessing" over gwen
They are
Kinda shame they did it for clickbait, would have been interessting if it was a Gwen clone
yeah was done before, but this time could have help him with his break up from MJ and let him finally see that he needs a fresh cut (let the past behind) and a new longstaying loveinterest/girlfriend
Think at this point marvel should introduce a new girlfriend and just forget Gwen and MJ and should stop teasing fans with what could have been
Yeah this is like the beginning of the Zeb Wells run where we first saw MJ with Paul and those 2 accidents and speaking of the run Norman is back as the Green goblin as they should just admit that the Green goblin is Norman’s true nature as the Misconception of Norman Osborn and the Arcade aka the Marvel Riddler.
However, they won’t let Peter move on from her and it’s holding the character back
I agree with every statement you made in this video❤
I swear it makes no sense but in the case of nick spencers spider man run it makes sense for kindreds story it makes senses because its the original harry osborn soul and that makes sense (the issue after that when norman told clone harry that he was the son and hes so sorry made me sad)
Ultimate has him with MJ and with 2 kids so???
So do you think those kids are considered canon? Even though they’re just an illusion?
I think they’re the canon children if Gwen was still alive, yes
His dream should have been about MaryJane.
Not Gwen.
I 100% agree!!
I 100% disagree!
Nope
Peter doesn't owe anyone anything. He can even dream of Deadpool or a harem with all his mistresses... MJ is nothing to him at the moment. Just a pathetic traitor and the worst heroine in the world.
His dream should involve gwen being alive, but not her being his wife, those two where having problems before her death and she had a hatred for spider-man so big that she fought with peter for it. Also, how is it this but not his own daughter being alive💀
616 Peter's obsession with Gwen keeps getting more and more offputting the longer it goes on.
they already have him married with kids in the ultimate universe though.
Yeah but they won't let him grow up in 616
@@LewisFilmsProductions they never will at this point. The new Ultimate universe is the best we’ll get.
So wait, gwen is peter step sister… since his mother figure and her father figure are together too😭
I guess so lmao
Wish Gwen would just come back to stay np trading her out for MJ ❤
Tbf at this point.. 😂
Actually really liked Miles and Kamala in this issue
Honestly to me it just feels uncessary. Peter has had dozens love interests, there's nothing stopping Marvel from just saying "alright let's bring back girlfriend XYZ who hasn't been seen in years for another run with Peter."
As an example Sara Bailey, a bank teller who Peter ended up going on a brief time travel adventure where they dated and he was aiming to propose to her but she lost her memories of the event. Maybe give her a second turn.
It’s annoying
ASM 50 was actually pretty good but I’m not getting my hopes up even though Ed mcGuinness green goblin art was sick lol
Funny while everyone else is upset with the Peter stuff I'm pissed about what they doing with Miles and Kamala
The marvel writers are like himym fans, Tracy died it fine for ted to move on and be with robin.
Have her and peter be together and married, and id make a big deal out of it
@LewisFilmsProductions looking forward to your take on the subject
ngl thats the stupidest thing ive heard all day

Peter will always love them, and never forget them.
I hope marvel would make new alternate dimension of Peter and gwen do gets married and have children's with spider power. And join the spider verse society.
Been saying that Marvel needs to let Gwen go for year.

MJ will always be Peters true love ❤❤❤
On the one hand, I am against another return to Gwen. She died a long time ago and it's not worth touching her memory. On the other hand, I like what Gwen Peter sees as his love. The MJ fanatics should already admit that Peter loved, loves, and will love Gwen and Felicia. They are just as important to him as the Red. And maybe even more. And Marvel fully supports my position.
Are you kidding??? Are you forgetting that Peter and MJ were married for 20 years???
MJ gets the shaft too much.
The only thing Marvel Editorial and Gwen stans have accomplished is to make a lot of people (myself included) actually hate Gwen.
Lmao yeah
Can anyone explain how Gwen Stacy came back? Is this the Earth-65 Ghost Spider or the one that died in 616 brought back to life?

Yeah I agree with you, can’t marvel quit obsessing over Gwen and move one. Like let them focus on another lover interest for Peter.
It was out of character in house of m, it is out of character on here as well.
In House of M, Spiderman's perfect life was him married to Gwen Stacey. Simple fact is, not everyone is a fan of MJ.
There were also rumors that Peter was cheating on her with the actress MJ, and everyone commented that they both had good chemistry.
@@mayotango1317 I think Peter's and MJ's chemistry is great in the second spiderman film.
But I really didn't like them together the third film. And I agree, his chemistry with the Gwen Stacey in the third film was really good.
@@masterDarts4188 I talk about the comic House of M.
@@mayotango1317 I'm sorry ?
