6.5 years ago I bought in Turkey Istanbul this optimus nova + stove.
I used it for 3 years and then it died on me.
But, they way I am, carried it all this time...still travelling!
Thinking, I'm going or someone is going to repair it. I missed cooking on this thing so much. Cause nothing beats a fuel/benzin stove.
Today I almost orders a new stove 😐
But, my old stove in my head 🤔
I knew the problem was the fuel line.
    Guess what... I FIXED IT!!!!
    I'm soooo happy 😆
This is the best stove for me 💙💛

Swedish Nova, 10 pumps, open valve for a second to prime, close valve. Light stove and while heating up to temp, 20 pumps, priming flame dies, open valve slowly at first and away you go.
Extinguishing, turn fuel bottle over until flame dies. Unplug fuel line, no fuel escapes.

Just a thought are these parts all interchangeable with the two systems. Like the nova plus will fit the nova system and nova will fit the nova plus systems.

Nice stove you have there, very good information on it. I have a question about a stove, that my nephew bought and I gave him his money back for picking it up for me. Cause I am like you about stoves. I would like to show you a picture of it and get your opinion on it. If possible. Thanks again for all you do and show to us. I have learned a lot from your videos. Thanks Brian. Have a great week.

    I have a question.
I have a optimus nova plus and when I use it something sounds like a ticking sound in the fuel bottle. Is this normal? I can't remember if I heard it before. Because I don't use it all the time. I just started to use it every day.

JJ2K which stove do you prefer the Optimus or the MSR. I have the MSR I like it, but I like that you don’t have to change any jets on the Optimus. I may have to buy the Optimus and try one my self.

Very good video. I have a Nova + but it is manufactured in Sweden approximately in 2006 or 2007, they are different from the new one in which at that time they were manufactured in Sweden, then they were manufactured in Asia, the coupling of the Swedish pump was the one manufactured by CEJN, series 141 coupling of excellent quality, just change the two internal o-rings and is as good as new. Another is that the new one has a round valve to open and close the fuel passage, in my case it does not because the coupling takes care of that. In addition the housing is made of stainless steel. Today it is black metal. Something that strikes me is that on the website of Katadin (which was the company that bought Optimus and moved manufacturing to Asia) is that this model is not currently on sale in that place. will it be discontinued? congratulations for your video, in my case my nova + has an optimal performance practically like the first day. Whatever you want to know, I can help if you need it. Greetings.

I had the old Sweden made nova and loved it. I have the Optimus explorer which came right before the nova and like it even more. I’ve tried it with every fuel and even alcohol and runs great! I wish the companies would still make stoves to run on alcohol stove fuel!

It looks that you are the best stove expert to ask. I have watched already a lot of your videos. I am looking for some expert advice. I need a stove for family bicycle touring to cook for 3 people. I would also love if it was a nice pack size like nova + and at the same time build to last long or something that I can fix with spares when it breaks. Could you please recommend a stove for us please.

I’ve had this exact stove since 2009. The ONLY issue I’ve ever had with it is the oring failed on the hose connection. Got a new one at a hardware store for $0.20. Hasn’t failed since. That was over ten years ago. Just used it after being packed away for five years and it worked great.
