I really appreciate that Chuck took the time to wash the caliper to clean off the brake fluid. I'm sure a lot of lesser mechanics would not have completed that step but it just goes to show the level of care he takes in servicing this car. And all I'm saying Rick, all I'm suggesting, (wink wink) is that a 2023 Z06 would make great content on the track too....
Congratulations Brother , enjoy the Z51 package on your new ride . I’m looking forward to more vlogs of you and Ryan making life memories . I hope you do another send off pat party , I want to be there for it ! You deserve the new ride more than anyone !
Great information for tech Tuesday. We’ll leave the work to the technicians! Good to see the beautiful rides also. Can’t wait to see your new order specs. Thanks to you and Chuck!
Another great and informative video. I've learned so much about this great car with your videos. I'm on the list for a 2023, and I feel more prepared to own it when it comes in. Thank you!!!
Hi Rick, Great session today on changing the brake fluid. I wish that I would have been able to see the procedure before I tried to install the hi-temp fluid in my car. That’s all I knew is that you had to disconnect the battery. Well, I did it wrong and got air locked up in the system. The car went into limp mode and had to take it to dealer. Three days and $1400 later the car was back to normal. I have been in the auto repair business and restored and showed many corvette’s. The C8 is a totally different animal and not to be messed with by the uniformed. Great job with your channel! Tony Sofia
Congratulations! I’m not going to track so non z51 for me. Hope to get it built by early November but we shall see. Awesome video and I look forward to the new build video! 👍😎
I love your channel Rick I ordered a 2023 c8 corvette over a year ago I just received my3000 acceptance number I would like to put an after market exhaust which one do you recommend and I red about cel how would I prevent that I have the z51 package
Hi Rick, I appreciate you and frankly understand your way of thinking in most circumstances. I get the sense of humor and logic in you. Thanks for doing what you do and please keep doing it. Chuck, your a good man too ;) I like the way you operate and do things the right way. Thanks for all the tips!
One of the best Tech Tuesdays yet. Might want to mention you can reset the mileage/ mpg computer. For instance, if you want real-time mpg on a trip, reset it at onset. Thanks
We always love your videos, congratulations on your new ride, everyone knows you in that Rapid blue the red mist in beautiful also. We love our Inferno orange!
Rick - a wise choice to move to a track capable car. Sounds like you are going with an Anniversary model. After seeing your ALL YOU CAN SEE IS RED video...I would suggest that you consider a Torch Red on Red Dipped with a high wing for better traction on the track. Thank you for sharing another informative video !
Question for Chuck, Did you run the back flush process before changing the DCT filter? Do you need to do it before changing the filter and fluid or is it only required when the transmission has an issue, throwing error codes to get the maximum particulates out of the transaxle? The manual's a bit confusing on the subject.
Another good video so people can learn from other peoples action. I am glad Chuck has a great sidekick I guess a 70th Pearl fully loaded. Keep driving.
That’s crazy…I just sold my 2020 C8 last Tuesday because they pulled my name for a 70th anniversary!I’m hoping I get it in the beginning of December!!🎉🎉🎉
Rick/Chuck, good videos appreciate all your content. My question is do I need to fill up the gas tank before I winterize? I already winterized my '22 C8 and left it at 105 until empty. I was reading the gas tank is sealed and fill up not required. I use Shell 93 octane and i did not add any winter gas treatment. Please advise. Thank you.
Incredible weekend in OCMD as usual. You need to get here next year with your new ride!!! Freestate does a fantastic job! I can see my AY on the far right of the first overhead shot
Rick, good segment on the miles to empty feature, same applies to my C7. Enjoy watching it go up during road trips. I think velocity red with 3lt red interior is a killer combination.
Congratulations Rick, in a way i feel sorry your trading the car. But with whatever spec you choose for the new car you definitely deserve it. You work really hard and I appreciate that. Enjoy!
no sir, thanks for watching , but has to be added in the event you do such a race session - more on that once I get ready to hit the track again next spring - I'll need to get 1500 miles first though ( required track break in )
when you order the new car please "go big or stay at home". when I ordered my 2023 z51 I got every Bell and whistle I could get, for 2 reasons. I wanted it for my enjoyment and possibly in the unlikely event of resale, thinking of the next owner.
Hey Rick, this would be a great reminder for C8 Stingray's track preparation. Yes, flushing brake fluids with a high temp one is one of those listed on their track preparation guide. Keep up the great work!
Am I disqualified from participating in the contest 😂😂😂 So happy for ya and can’t wait to see some of the aftermarket add-ons…Paragon and ACS, let’s see what you can do for our brother Rick 👍
Noooooo! WOW caught me off guard with that one. Congratulations on the new baby. Did Chuck have to pull the trunk liner in order to add the transmission fluid?
Great video, thanks to you both! And Rick, part of owning a Corvette is having more than one! I own my 4th Corvette, loved them all, but you change and your dreams change. Excited to see the new build and the new C8! Awesome!
so I saw how u unplugged the brake fluid level sensor. How do you disconnect the booster system? I am a do it myselfer so is this possible to bleed the brakes at home or do you have to have a GM laptop??
Big fan of Tech Tuesday and Rick your videos are fun to watch and always informative..Who does the music at the end while the photos run??Sings I should say.lol
Great vid and info as usual. Though that beautiful C7 Collectors Edition was very distracting. That is the very reason why I'm finding it so hard to get rid of mine for a C8. What do you do when you love the C7 more than the C8 but you want a new Vette? Thanks GM. Can't believe you're getting rid of that perfect color combo. As much as you love it I guess you won't dup it. I'm guessing you might go for the new red dipped interior. Meaning no more Rapid blue, maybe Matrix Gray.
I'm guessing that one of the options you're getting on the new C8 is the Front Lift. And, of course, the Z51 package. Congrats on your new 2023 C8, Rick!!!
Re: track Prep: can you please give an EST $$ Cost (at the dealer) for the following Items: 1. Change brake fluid to High Temp $$ and Procedure. 2. Add 2 Quarts of DC Fluid (which by 2024 Owners manual is no longer needed) - also do you suggest still adding the 2 quarts. 3. maybeNo plan on changing alignment (since this will only be occassional, maybe 2-3 times a year).
what about using Amsoil in the car? I have 5000 on my 2021. I change the oil after one year and I did the DCT filter change all ready, like they said to do? so do it again? and what events are you going to do at the corvette museum? I live a hour north would love to meet ya! I will even let ya pay for lunch lol
Re: your brakes - now that the pads are glazed did you also check the DISC's for cracks , etc because you "baked" your pads and exceeded operation temp of the brakes.
@@RickCorvetteConti I've come to the same conclusion. I was thinking about trying to go for a ZR1, if and when it comes out, and looks like it's going to be mid $250k price range. I am going to safe money and buy a boat.😄 I am happy with, my C7 Z06, anyway.
I saw you at last couple track nights , I'll have to stop and talk to you next time . I get 3 twenty minute sessions to a tank in my Z06 . I didn't buy it for fuel economy . Lol
Hey Rick, if I had to guess, I’m guessing White, Red Dipped, obviously z51, convt, and now competition seats…style, heritage and track worthy. Can’t wait to see what you get. Congrats.
Carbotech street and track pads are worth it. Also remember that race brake fluid needs changed out more. I usually flush it with new after every track session.

Adding Z51 and the new 20 spoke forged wheels. You love the wheels because they look like a corvette emblem
Appreciate all you and Chuck do for the Corvette community! Y’all rock! Congratulations Rick and good luck on your new build! 🎉
Congratulations Brother , enjoy the Z51 package on your new ride . I’m looking forward to more vlogs of you and Ryan making life memories . I hope you do another send off pat party , I want to be there for it ! You deserve the new ride more than anyone !
Me too! I know some day you’ll get Z06! In meantime please sell your allocation to me and my son Adam! He deserves it!

Another "Send Off Pat" party!! Hooray!!!
Love this longer episode! Thanks for sharing, even when it's a mistake!
Get that new Corvette feeling all over again Rick Thank you for the info take care guys
And it starts!!!! You have the bug. The cool thing is you can go back to Spring Mountain. I can’t wait to go to the track with my Z06.
Great information for tech Tuesday. We’ll leave the work to the technicians! Good to see the beautiful rides also. Can’t wait to see your new order specs. Thanks to you and Chuck!
Outstanding! Thanks to you both.
Great session. Loved learning about the tech details around servicing a C8. Do more of these.
YAAAAA!!! It started!!! Hi Rick, Chuck and everyone!!
So will the Carfax on your car show you "jumped" it? 😂😂
SHUT THE FRONT DOOR.....(LOL) we will address all this in the Vlog talking about new color and specs!

Great VLOG…I don’t know what you’re paying for gas, but here in SoCal 91 octane is running about $6.50 per gallon 😳
Sorry, I wanted to say, you earn it. As always, great job
Congratulations Rick on ordering a 2023 Z51.
Great video Rick & Chuck. Can’t wait to see your new spec on the 2023. Z51 no doubt!
Very good information. You'll still have your before me. Lucky u.

Castrol SRF high performance brake fluid. Also for oil does the C8 require 15W-50, for track use, like the C7 ZO6? I have done it and it’s a PIA.
Congratulations on getting a new vehicle. My guess is 3LT, Z51, front lift and mag ride.
WHAAAA ! Another great tech Tuesday, thank you.
Rick,
What about the oil filter?
Congratulations on your new spec, can’t wait to find out the color!!
Interesting! Do you have to disconnect the battery for brake bleeding for a 2019 ZO6, with iron rotors? Appreciate an answer.

My 2020 C8 Stingray miles to fill up ran 440 mile consistently.
