I love pretty much all of M. Wards songs. He is quiet in interviews but he seems to be a spiritual person. This song is written so beautifully and simply to me and reflects the listening of God to us, from a lover to their beloved, from a parent to their child, and reflects as well the lifelong journey of all of us to be good listeners; to ourselves, and to others.

Nicely said! I've been realizing as of late that a lot of M. Ward's songs are pretty spiritual. Not in an in your face kind of religious way but in a quiet lowkey way. Once you read into the lyrics you realize alot of his songs are talking about God and Heaven! His songs make you want to be a better person to yourself and to others.
