When I was a kid back in the 80's the closest track was 40 miles away and the only way to get in was to pay to watch or to race so I never got the chance. I was always way more into street riding. I didn't care about fast, I just wanted to do tricks nobody else could do. Watching an actual race that wasn't just clips of the pro's was really cool and fun! How ever I will never leave my true love, freestyle, bowls, and ramps!!!👹☠🤙 Goood times
That was the mongoose I used to ride as a kid. Before my big brother got it the mags were replaced with gold front and blue rear spoked wheels. It had a nickel finished frame. I loved that bike!!!🏁
OMG... The Blue Mongoose is just like I had as a kid, racing at Lawrenceville BMX on Rt 1. I had it tricked out with TuffWheel 2's, Comp 3 tires, AME grips, Race Inc bars, MCS stem, Suntour crank & sprocket, Elana lightning seat, and Haro plate with the lightning bolts. Good times!!!
You are an inspiration and part of why I started racing! It was awesome meeting you and Matty and your dad at the race, keep up the great work and I hope we cross paths again. I want a foot down rematch! :D
That definitely was a fun video. Glad Matty didn't hurt himself too badly there, that wasn't a soft landing. There were some really well looked after bikes on display there.
I have one of those Mongoose frames hanging on my bedroom wall I have owned since around middle school a friend had gifted me. It isn't painted it's raw metal and couldn't remember what it's name was until this video so thanks for great video as always and the info.
I had one of these old Mongoose frames back in the day. That frame might have been ahead of its time. The headtube gusset, the seatstay and chainstay were sick. Not to mention the good looking welds. Looked like a great time was had.👍👍
This old bikes actually ride really well for city use. I have a Japanese vintage repro BMX I ride every single day living in the city. It's incredibly nimble and a fun ride, all the tubes are period correct so you can't really order whatever you like part wise and put it on the bike which I guess is a downside? I like it though, picked up riding again in July, been getting better and better at it.
Scotty Did you ever ride the one fork arm Elf forks? What did you think of those? I was too sketched out to try them. I raced from 5 yrs old this 16. I was just a kid with a bike who knew nothing of top tube length and sprocket changes for racing versus riding the streets.
You say Matty but you really mean chip that was messed up I'm started to think your being setup I mean if the pedal didn't go someone was gonna have to take you out. Can't beat the matty!!!🔥
Please tell me someone was riding an 80's Redline PL20. That was one of my favorite bikes that I owned. It was fast! It got stolen and all these years later I wish I still had that bike!
Whaaaa no PK RIPPERS, no CW’s. HEY HAS ANYONE DONE THAT SMALL CASETTE ON AN OLD SCHOOL BMX?? We done my diamond back silver streak and viper 😆 yeah if only it would have been thought of back in 86
I get that the pedal broke, but then.. On the turn... Why he slipped? Suddenly he like wanted to take the inner side or something with not even having the speed he needed as the pedal broke and... Yeah, i dont get it hahahahha
I love big Scott’s love and excitement for bmx.
It’s great and very wholesome.
Awesome talkin to y'all again, you keep inspiring me to make my stuff better, see yall at the next one!
"You're too good for this bike" spot on Scotty
'82 was a good year.
thanks for sharing scotty.
Scotty, I love that you give honor and love to all eras of BMX. This looked so fun.
I love your passion for BMX. I had the exact same frame in candy apple red back in 1982 with red skyway mags.
Matty's bike is old as I am and I think it is beautiful! ♥
so many cool bikes including Matty's. bummer about the pedal but looked like an amazing event and fun time!
You guys are both legends! Haha awesome video! Glad Matty didnt lose his head!

I owned one of those 1982 Motomags...when you jumped the bike, it just took you along for the ride. What a tank!

Man, what a trip down memory lane, I used to race at Gillies Creek when I was younger
A 1982 bike is the perfect bike for me because it's as old as I am.... I wish I could own an 82 bike. 😁👍🖤

My favorite video you guys have done… Scotty is my hero
Sad day at the track. Sorry Matty! Besides the mechanical failure, it looks like you guys had a ton of fun.
I’m a simple man. I see a new video of Scotty Cranmer and click on it without thinkin
Same😂
Dude I love my new 29” mongoose hooligan bmx bike, it rides so nice and my neighbor commented how smooth it rode😉👍🏻
Always a pleasure to see Big Scott in a video. Shame for Matty. I know he would have taken the whole thing. Awesome video!
That Leigh guy sort of sounds like this superhero from back in the day. Captain Idiot ? Can't be him.
FIRST, LOVE THE VIDEOS, keep up the awesome work!!
Matty you're a brave dude racing that bike without upgrades.
Leigh sprinkling dirt on the sprocket made me laugh out loud
I used to have a redline that had the fork pegs like the Mongoose Decade. I tried to do a stall with them and I went right over. Hhaha
I own the mint green decade in this video. It's for sale.
The lead sled!!! Oh those moto mags!!!
Matty, I had that bmx bike when I was a kid
@Scotty Cranmer .... we 100% need a Matty vs Chip game of BIKE 😂 Plz.... 😁👍. 🙏
🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
The paper plate race plate is great.
Omg! A motomag goose! Iam officially dribbling!
I had same in 82 when i raced it,now im 56 and long for those days!

Hey Scotty you have to get that elf bmx bike for Christmas..so you can put it on a shelf😝👍🏻
It was the dirt 😅
Matty Cranmer: my pedal broke!
Thats what happened in the 80's Matt😂
I remember the days of hitting the tracks on my all carbon 08 redline 😭
Scotty Did you ever ride the one fork arm Elf forks? What did you think of those? I was too sketched out to try them.

Love the old bikes what about kastan
This is good!
In the 80s I had brake shoes that looked like sneakers.
i had an 84 or 86 mongoose racing pro bmx and its like it never existed lol i cant seem to find the one i had anywhere
I actually own that mint Mongoose Decade. And it's listed for sale on FB marketplace for $1100. I also own the pink and maui blue Dyno next to it.
The real riders are the ones that fall.
Hey I have a 2000 schwinn super matic and love it.🙂
Oh and what was your first ever bmx bike?
Im surprised NO ONE has a PK Ripper.........
I don’t understand why chip and Marty can’t ride together.
Its ok Matty. Brakes only slow you down. You dont need them for a race!
Please tell me someone was riding an 80's Redline PL20. That was one of my favorite bikes that I owned. It was fast! It got stolen and all these years later I wish I still had that bike!
Old school bike rad two movie

matty cranmer movie rad 2 BMX New rad. Movie the boy one
I'm viewer #2,999.
When not a single square inch of track is dirt, is it even considered Bicycle Moto Cross anymore? The entire track is brick/asphalt....
Que "break the ice"
I get that the pedal broke, but then..
On the turn... Why he slipped? Suddenly he like wanted to take the inner side or something with not even having the speed he needed as the pedal broke and... Yeah, i dont get it hahahahha
Who thought it would be a good idea to put cobblestone on a bmx track?
it's fast and you grip really well. the pros hit it 3 wide in the flat pedal pro am. you can check out Barry Nobles vid there they were flyin
@@mattmartin816 You'll go much faster on smooth asphalt or dirt though.
Pretty sure if anything, it's designed to slow you down on the turn.
it's actually smoother than our area asphalt and dirt turns. just a little different and makes track unique.
Rad 2 movie 2025 old people New people bike BMX
Mustve got that bike from Walmart
First
First in the homosexual human centipede
Cheering for a loser. Not just any loser but the professional who owns a track and shows up to amateur events. Cranmer cult status.
In montana there is an 84 year old that races bmx. I haven't seen him in a while but he does race!
