- This is my first time really intentionally talking about news and opinions in a while, so I wanted to talk about the rumormill, Persona 3 Remake and the Goro Akechi spin off as well. Rumors, leaks, spoilers are all stuff I have strong feelings about so enjoy.

P3 has promise as making Tartarus a mega dungeon has a lot of appeal to me, however P3 in particular has had so much love from ATLUS it wouldnt feel as special as P2 being remade from the ground up. But I really just want a new game/IP its not 2006 anymore we can move on
P3 is slowly starting to get milked similar to P4 and P5 now and I feel like we should just get either P6 already, or if people are desperate for P3 content, a potential PQ3 or PQ1 and PQ2 port bundle. It would be more hype to get Official SMT ports or translations or a new game entirely if we're being realistic here
@@kodokunayuki2232 if we had a PQ+2 bundle, or even a PQ3 adventure with the P1 and P2 cast, that'd be magic. Especially if they did something similar to PQ2, where FeMC remembered the P3 cast, but they didn't remember her. If they had different versions of the P2 cast from EP and IS, they could tell a really compelling story with how their respective efforts changed their respective worlds and timeliness.
Fax though, how long are the people at atlus gonna twiddle there thumbs instead of making something new?
@@kodokunayuki2232 I'll be honest, I'll never get sick of Persona being milked so long as the quality is good. I can't speak on Persona Q but the Persona 4 Arena games and Persona 5 Strikers were amazing. So long as they can keep that level of quality, I don't mind

Great video. I really understood where you were coming from with the Christmas analogy. "Leaks" and rumors are almost 1/1 your friends gathering around in recess in early December and telling each other what their parents are going to 100% get them because they've been good boys and girls and there's no way they can be wrong because they swear they overheard their parents talking about that new PS3 system in the middle of the night. There's no way to know what's gonna happen until it happens, I've come to a point where I try not to go into things with expectations because if I do then I'm bound to be disappointed in some way. Also out of the possible Megaten remakes, I am most worried about the P2 duology. There are just so many ways for them to fuck this up (and I'm confident they will). At least with P3 it's within the "vibe" of the games they've made recently but I feel new management and creative vision wouldn't do P2 justice.
I think the greatest evidence against these kind of rumours is that they all involve Persona. Atlus make games other than Persona so why are we not getting leaks about these other projects? Team Maniax were working on multiple projects at one point including SMT V and SH2 according to their Famitsu interview this year. Surely it would follow that they must be making another SMT related title then? Whether its a remake or a new entry. Or what about Etrian Odyssey and Project Re:Fantasy? Where are the "leaks" for these games? The real reason there are so many "leaks" for persona is just because it is a massively popular franchise now so people are more inclined to make up rumours for clout and then these rumours get shared more because theres a bigger community for them to be shared around.
Also, for every person that "predicted" P3P ports theres someone that "predicted" FES instead.

You make a lot of good points in how leaks play upon what people do want from the creators. Artists/Creators always have to balance the beam of making what they want vs what the audience wants (vs what makes money 😂)
if any persona game(s) deserves a full remake it’s the persona 2 duology. as much as i love p3 it’s gotten enough attention from atlus as it is, the earlier games deserve the spotlight now (plus FES’s gameplay isn’t even that bad, people are just allergic to using tactics apparently).
Honestly I don't feel P2 needs it. I'd happily take it but would prefer 1 or even 3, even though the P2 games are among my favorites.

Good video and i liked your mimic voice while you were reading 🤣 . Tbh i wouldn’t care if they don’t remake persona 3 but too me p3p was just a let down for what they could’ve added. And thank god you talked about the persona 5 fatigue cause its just annoying i don’t want them too do a akechi spinoff (ik its a prediction or leaker) just give us a new game🤷🏾♂️.

There will be P1-4 remake rumors until they actually decide to do it.
It would nice if they started with P1 though I would still like direct ports of P1 and both P2s.

Well yeah but I don't what is Takata is teasing and what Yamai's plan is towards mainline SMT for now after SMT V.

If we want to be honest with ourselves, "leakers" that have "insider info" are just lucky guessers that get praised for "leaking" a possible remake or game when they're right, but get no shit whenever they're wrong. Never expect what you wish for from a leaker.
I can't disregard everyone since I know some leakers who totally do get insider info but it's rare

The poll says remake, makes me wonder if for Atlus "remake" could also mean remaster. Poor DDS, at only 9th place.
I mean half of it are from Japanese votes and same thing for the sales that DDS is low for JP side.

Personally, I didn't care because shin magami has been one of those series that it was always hard for me to keep up with and the only thing I got out of them was that persona 5 has a fighting game.
It technically went into development before the first game even finished. However, at some point in time development picked back up so it's not a release date. So I straight up didn't care.

I feel like too much would need to be changed about p3 to match in similar presentation quality as 5 that it might as well be time spent into a new game
I on the other hand want HD remasters....at least of the two DDS games....ported to PS4, PS5, Switch, etc.

P3 Remake could at least be interesting to see what P-Studio does to spice the game up. But a Goro Akechi spin off game? That shit doesn't need to happen, I love the character but his life isn't interesting enough to carry a whole 20+ hr spin-off game.
See I think the p3 remake could be good practice for younger new staff but that's the only plus side imo
@@phillemon7664 agree, now a spin off with the full cast in which a Akechi is like a main plot point would work better imo.... in other words I just want p5 arena. I felt if they wanted an akechi centric game they can totally do there😭

No way Persona 3 would get a remake so soon when they just re-released Portable.
The Goro Akechi spin-off sounded like a stupid joke from day one, and mostly everyone who had a double digit IQ or higher knew that it was a fake "leak."
Persona 5 Arena will never happen, Arcsys is too busy with other projects and P4AU remastered was a failure.
It's sad how many people believe P3 Remake even has a chance of being made. The leak might as well have said "just trust me bro" for how credible it is. I would not mind a remake personally, but we have NOTHING pointing to that actually happening.
The only "leak" that might be valid is P6 being announced later this year. But it's common sense to believe Atlus is far in development, so of course there is a high chance of that happening. If their "leak" is correct that does not make anybody who guessed that any more or less valid of a leaker.
I don't think a P3 remake is happening. If it were, they would have announced it during the 25th Anniversary and not bothered with a rerelease of P3P. And the "it won't have FeMC" thing makes the whole thing kinda sus, since she's one of the most popular aspects of P3 as a whole. It wouldn't make any sense to cut her out. A P3 remake being in the works is most likely just wishful thinking.
I mean we remember what they did with Catherine right? Not saying this proves or disproves anything but if Atlus did something similar before, it's reasonable to assume they could do it again. Plus if you want my personal take, I think Atlus doesn't like FeMC that much so if they did make a remake, I wouldn't be surprised if they just made it Persona 3 FES with Portable's combat and 5's graphics
@@connorharnage6697 the thing about Catherine Full Body is that it came out several years after the original version, not a few months after a rerelease. Full Body also wasn't a remake, much in the same way that P5R isn't a remake. Atlus may or may not like FeMC, but they also know that she's hugely popular among the fans. They also know that what fans want in a remake of P3 is a hybrid of Fes and Portable where the FeMC has animated and in-engine cutscenes and explorable enviornments and maybe even her own version of The Answer like Fes while having the QOL upgrades from Portable. A remake without FeMC would basicly just be an HD remaster of Fes.
@@jeezycreezy4220 Honestly, true about the FeMC and like he says in this video, Atlus does pay attention to what their fans want almost to a fault. Still I'm gonna keep hoping for a P3 Remake and if I end up disappointed then that's on me
