I first came to Columbus as a second lieutenant assigned to the Infantry School at Ft. Benning in 1979. I eventually found myself living in Columbus in 1986, and I have lived here ever since (37 years). I really love my adopted hometown, and I loved this video. Well done!
I lived in Columbus from 1979 to 1984. I went to Spencer 11th grade and Kendrick High where I graduated High school in 1981.I lived in Benny's Hill in 1979-80 then we moved to the Buena Vista Rd area. There wasn't much to do at that time. I would love to go back to visit. I enjoyed the video.
Lived there for 14 years after leaving connecticut when i was 2 and now been in atlanta for19 years. Life would not have been the same without those wonderful years growing up in columbus

When I lived in Columbus back in the late 90’s it was alright, just about. Of course as soon as I moved the coolness factory skyrocketed. Downtown white course? Back in the 90’s when I rode my mountain bike people looked at me like I was insane. Extreme sports, tja. Now I live somewhere else
I grew up in Columbus, I now live in Colorado and they are not 3 hours from the mountains….hills, yes. White water rafting? Nope I left for the army in 1961 and never looked back nor do I go back. Crime galore, mixed bag of people because if Ft. Benning.
Columbus is no more dangerous than any other city of comparable size in Georgia. Everybody that says this place is too dangerous or crime infested has no idea what they are talking about. We are quite literally at normal crime rate levels for the size of city we have. Not to mention just a week ago over $250,000,000 in drugs were seized and 101 arrests were made. So I’m sure that will make it even better

It's OK. They don't tell you about the crime rate though. I know Alec. I like his place. They've got some places and people worth meeting, but honestly it's not one of the best places to live in the United States.
