Take a look at Fairphone 3. I haven't used it myself, but it will probably be the next purchase. The idea is to make most parts easily replaceable and use more ethical production methods.
They made it so hard to change out the battery so you would (1) have to take it in to be replaced or (2) buy a new phone. Either way they are making money. They don't make any money if you can change your own battery.

just for info .... NEVER put heat to a lithium ion battery .... and when removing the battery he is taking his time because if he bends it too much it can short out ... if that happens then your whole phone is toast .... maybe your house too ....

However, I could not open the back cover. I was afraid that I would crack the cover or the screen. It should have been designed easy to replace the battery. I decided not to change it. Maybe I take it to a specialist to do it for me.
Instead of struggling with that flimsy bit of wat looks like film negative I used a piece of thin fishing line and like a cheese wire use it to cut the glue under the battery. Much easier and not as cumbersome

Most makers do this to shave a few pennies off manufacturing cost. It also makes repair more difficult, increasing the probability the user will just buy a new (profitable) phone. It's called planned obsolescence.

When I did phone repair we always used a heat gun to soften the adhesive. Just don't point it at the lcd directly, heat from the back.
I didn't even use heat I just put an old gift card under it and took my time. Did the job surprisingly well

Good thing the maker used "booger glue" for that battery. Epoxy might have been a bear to remove.
