Definitely more prominent here as well as his love for Depeche Mode and Dead Can Dance. This album may turn out to be the pinnacle of his discography. The master of atmosphere.

I must say I'm stoked for the new album! This track does feel reminiscent of Type O Negative and a tad bit more mellow and simple than Meilenwald's previous output. But these types of tracks have their own merit so big thumbs up. I do hope he has some crushing songs in store, though.
Damn this is absolutely fantastic. Maybe the cleanest production on any Ruins release thus far as well which is interesting. It almost feels like Mellenwald dipping his toes into pop, very very slightly, but the influence is there. Overall this guy can do no wrong and the fact that he's this deep into his career ands still never disappointing is incredible. So stoked for this album, listened to all of the albums over and over and seems like I'll be doing the same for this one.

Agree that this has a Type O Vibe and it is no secret that von Meilenwald really likes 80s synth, post-punk a la Depeche Mode, Sister of Mercy and others. I would like if he really dabbles more into this direction, because while I appreciate it, I feel that tracks that are a mixture between styles (such as this one) almost always are weaker as when you would have focused on just on particular direction (i.e. ghastly Black Metal that fades into the next track that is more Depeche Mode or Type O-y, I hope you get what I mean). Still really excited for this new album, have a feeling that this is probably a track to throw us off a little bit, just like Towards Malakia kind of was. Not in general direction, but in terms of what the bulk of the album will be like.

Foulest is my fav record but i do love all of Ruins material anyway. But that record is flat out amazing.
