I was in the audience at the Gershwin on opening night- October 30th, 2003. Last row of the mezzanine. I will never forget how Idina Menzel’s voice filled that theatre at the end of Act 1 or how deeply the friendship between Elphaba and G(a)linda touched my heart. Wicked truly changed me for good.
I was calling myself before I was looking at it last time I was there in behind the house and hollywood and make sure most amazing maze and make sure most amazing maze and the other one
It's looks good I love it so much fun making flash back past life look back 1939 wicked musical show wizard of oz same time years before New DVD releases review history 80th anniversary celebration party years birthday
Gregory Maguire was so on point at the end. We do need these stories to be told and told again and again now more than ever. That is exactly Wicked's run continues on and powers through. And we wouldn't have it any other way.
I saw WICKED on Broadway a few years back with Rachel Tucker, Carrie St Louis and Jonah Platt...and it was INCREDIBLE. If you have never seen this show....GO!!! It is worth every cent
It's looks like come back on show I just hoping coming back I just l just love it so much it's looks like new DVD releases review history books documentary about biography book and life story of the day away magic
It was the highlight of my first visit in NY 2015, got a ticket from a friend and didn t know the seat was in the first row!...will never forget this evening...so much power, light, perfection...stunning!!!!
Amazing piece! I love Wicked, I've read the books (Gregory Maguire is incredible) and I love, love the musical. Stephen Schwartz was blessed writing it. KCheno and Idina have an incredible chemistry to this day. Fabulous women.
Wicked feels like my life story as an Elphaba. It changed me so much! I was able to take 11 my Friends and students to see this magnificent musical when it came to our area. I’m willing to see it again and again and again…
Wicked made me the musical theatre geek I am today! I first saw the show in 2007 at the Hollywood Pantages. I’m overdue more than ever to revisit this beautiful musical.
There those who state that WICKED is simply play. This play connects with so many people because of its message for all of us. That we are not perfect and that each of us deserve love ,protection and opportunity. Wicked tells us to love ourselves, Wicked tells us to protect the environment, Wicked tells us to protect animals and that thin line between following and questioning authority is always of mindful significance.
Always and forever my favorite musical. Saw it 4 times on Broadway. Can't wait to go back and see it again. The story is so powerful, inspiring, and relevant to anyone out there who feels like a misfit and wants to do great things from the heart. The song DEFYING GRAVITY is truly an anthem and a song for peace, acceptance, and taking a stand for what you believe in. My favorite lyric in that is that last one..... AND NOBODY IN ALL OF OZ, NO WIZARD THAT THERE IS OR WAS IS EVER GONNA BRING MY DOWN. We experience so much HATE and DISCRIMINATION. People are very judgmental about so many things. At the end of the day, nothing should ever stop us from what we want out of life. As a performer myself, it's a been a dream of mine so for long to be part of this incredible cast telling a very powerful story. We can all relate to each character in their own authentic way. I'm still persisting and have been auditioning for WICKED to be "Boq", Not giving up hope.
What a beautiful synopsis! It was on point and so very true in this sad, crazy world! I hope you don't give up and get cast! Really poignant reply! Made me smile and nod...I agree sir!
Being a 54 gay man, Wicked spoke to me so much. I was already out and proud. Wicked solidified that for me. I live in Jacksonville Florida and have seen it 2 times here and 1 time in Tampa. I was even able to download the script and color code according to each character for my husband who is deaf. The theatre allowed us to bring a small laptop so he could read the captions. He loves the musical as well. I could certainly relate to Elphaba. I was always questioning things that I didn’t understand. If I could I would see this show every weekend. Because of this musical, I can truly say I was changed for good. Thank you Gregory McGuire.💚
I am going to see Wicked for the first time this April when the North American tour comes to my hometown of Sacramento, ca. I am beyond excited for it! Having been a lifelong and massive Wizard of Oz fan, I have heard that this takes it to a whole other level and makes it even better!
I was blessed enough to catch a showing for my birthday at the Gershwin on Broadway. My husband surprised me with dead center front row seats. Its was the most magical show! So glad they are back!
I was just at the NA tour in Greensboro NC on 10/24/21 at the Steven Tanger Center...The play was absolutely amazing! The people playing Elphaba and Glinda were just stunning and played their parts to perfection! I highly recommend you shell out some cash to see this one, you won’t regret it
I saw that musical 6 times in Chicago and my hometown pac i really love that musical so much when i was little i was so interesting wizard of oz so when my elementary school teacher told me everything about wicked so in my Easter of 2007 I got the soundtrack of that musical and my whole family saw wicked in Chicago i really enjoyed a lot
I have often said I wish I could put "Wicked Groupie" on my resume because I absolutely LOVE this show and the soundtrack. So happy it is back and wonderful reporting.
Saw it @ the Apollo Victoria Theater in London's West End on Sept. & Nov. of 2019. Would love to see it again. Nikki Bentley( Elphaba) & Helen Woolf(Glinda) were awesome!
I saw it twice in Chicago before it went to Broadway with Kristin as the good witch….saw it 4 years ago on a national tour….I love the show…. I enjoyed the performances and technical aspects
In 2004 I was in NYC mainly to see the Lion King. But knew if I was in NYC then I had to see as many shows as possible. So I picked up tickets to see a new show Wicked. In 3 more weeks I will be taking my niece to Charlotte NC to see her first Broadway show for her 15th birthday....Wicked. Which will be my 17th show. I cannot think of a more perfect show to take the young woman who I always encourage to defy gravity to.
This will shock you- I haven’t seen WICKED! yet, but I know it’s still one of the best musicals out on Broadway or just about anywhere in the world. The Wizard of Oz and THE WIZ (though it was a super soul adaption) are two of those ways for me to see the musical itself.
Wicked is my very favorite musical! However, I've never seen it live, only on youtube. I couldn't see it when it came to my state because tickets were too expensive. I haven't seen a big theater production live, only a few at our local schools and theater. Hopefully one of these days I'll get to see this live.
@@floowing7544 There are scenes here that are not included on the 2003 Reviewer’s Reel; namely Kristin and Carole on the balcony and the entire “For Good” sequence. The show was actually filmed with Kristin and Idina at least twice, but possibly more than four times; once in San Francisco, and the other recordings were made once they transferred to Broadway.
See it in Dallas,Texas at the Music Hall at Fair Park on August 28,2021. Favorite musical number Defying Gravity and please film this play for Netflix or on DVD.
Maguire first published “Wicked: The Life And Times of The Wicked Witch Of The West” in 1995. Disney’s Maleficent movies arguably essentially take inspiration from the ideas of Wicked.
I refuse to go see a play at this point in our lives. I was very fortunate when Kristen and Idna were on the touring group back in the day and back in the day we could choose our own seats. The play was awesome. Saw it a second time with another group of stars and it wasn't as good.
Who is he to change the original story line? I thought Wicked was made by L Frank baum the creator of the wizard of oz… how does this guy get to change the story …
I think I'm the only one in this planet who did not enjoyed this show. Saw this London Production show twice. The first one I didn't liked it. The second one, I knly went to the show because my then girlfriend wants to watch this show even though I told her that its not that nice. She said she will pay for the tickets and meal afterwards. I said she's wasting her money. Plus, I said I will treat her to any other show as long as its not Wicked. But she said that this is the one she likes. Being a good boyfriend to her, I accompanied her to the show and pretended that I enjoyed it.

How you’re put together is always okay. How you respond to how you are put together is all on you…
Saw it on Broadway, Columbia SC, and Charlotte NC and let me tell you the touring cast right now is probably my fave!
My husband and I’s love story began with this musical!!! It will always be so moving for me!! ❤️❤️❤️

I hope so too. It made me want to see more musicals
I saw Wicked in London in 2016--such an incredible production.
I saw this many years ago . It was one of the only plays I have ever been to. It was absolutely amazing…. Black belt quality type stuff..
Truly the best show on earth!
I have often said I wish I could put "Wicked Groupie" on my resume because I absolutely LOVE this show and the soundtrack. So happy it is back and wonderful reporting.
I saw Wicked in 2017 in Philly and it was amazing; I'd love to see it again at some point. I'm so excited that Broadway is finally back!
They couldn’t have picked a better Elphaba and Glinda. And idina stating how she didn’t get things straight away is so Elphaba, love it 💚💚💚

Saw it at the Straz Center in Tampa, FL about a couple of years ago. Enjoyable, fun, great songs and singers.
I'm dying to see this live!!!!
I hope to one day afford to go see it!
We’ll be there this Saturday! So excited!
At this point, I would rather have a ProShot of Wicked than a film adaptation.
I wouldn’t mind either
