This is the best video on use of the Cuisinart 14 Cup Programmable Coffee Maker DC3200. Far better than Cuisinart's own videos. The Cuisinart direction manual is fine for electrical safety, but it's abysmal re: how to use the coffeemaker. I followed the directions pg. 7 and 8 of manual re: flushing the coffee maker before the first use. I precisely measured 14 cups of water according to directions, only to have the water pour out of the back of the machine all over the countertop. To program the machine to make coffee using the directions was hopeless! I was ready to send this machine back! If I had not seen this video this coffeemaker would be out of here! Now, I will give it a try. It's on probation!

Great explanatory video. I just wanted to clarify the Carafe Temp button sets the hot plate temperature, not the brew temp. I set it to low so the brewed coffee doesn't get burnt after sitting on the hot plate for a stretch.
I think the 1-4 and Bold settings may change the brew temp, but the manual is fuzzy on how those features work.
Thanks and you're correct that button is for the hot plate. Even still, with a full pot or 1 - 4 cups I get 155 at best with this model but could just be only the one I got. Other coffee makers I covered on this channel range from 160 - 170, percolators even hotter.

I don't know if you still have this machine or not but after seeing this video, I did the thermostat check and mine got up to 186 and that was in Medium setting. May I suggest doing the test putting the thermostat in the carafe; when you transfer the coffee to a cup, it drops temp because more than likely, your cup is at room temperature.
I've had this model for 4 weeks now and my coffee has been hot each time it's brewed... with the carafe temp set to M. Good video! :) - 04/27/23.

I purchased this coffee maker 2 days ago because it always rates pretty high. The bold feature on this operates like higher-end models where it brews, pauses for a few moments, brews and pauses so it extracts very well. The temperature of the water coming from the shower head stays in the 195 to 205 degree F range and is making a tasty hot cup of coffee.

What is the wattage of the coffemaker? Could that be a clue to how hot or not, the coffeee was brewed to?

How do I get it to brew just 3 cups ? I push the 1-4 and if I have the reservoir full it will brew a half pot . Is that the problem I just need to put the amount of water in cups that I’m wanting I can’t leave reservoir full all the time

There’s a market for videos that just explain how to do the most basic thing. Not how to set the timer or to program it. But you know…how to actually make a cup of coffee in these indecipherable things. Vacation travelers facing new products would thank you.

I have one I jus cleaned yesterday n put around 10 c water in tank n programmed it to brew at 8am w the 1-4 c button but it brewed the whole 10 c 😆 so it was weak coffee, since I didnt have a ton of grounds in it

What is the meaning of 1-4 button? How much water should be in carafe if doing 1-4? Why does it mean if u dont click 1-4?

If I fill the water to 14, but hit the 1-4 button, does it stop after 4 cups? The manual says it brews a stronger taste, but isn’t that what BOLD is for? I’ve never tried the 1-4
No, it will brew as much water as you put in the tank.
I can not make this machine work. I set up with water and coffee and press brew. Light is on button, but nothing happens. Plus I can’t find a way to turn off the lit button to try something else

You need to set the Keep Warm to however long you want it (from 0 to 4 hours) but it defaults to 2 hours out of the box.
Will the coffee maker not keep the coffee warm if I have the auto on selected? I’d like to brew early in the morning and keep it warm for 4 hours and so far it isn’t working
Keep Warm and Auto on are two separate features. You need to set the Keep Warm to however long you want it (from 0 to 4 hours) but it defaults to 2 hours out of the box.
OK I just have one simple question how do you turn this coffee machine to brew coffee right here and right now not all these other programs about setting the coffee for tomorrow or how long for it to stay hot I'm just trying to figure out how to turn this thing on there is no brew coffee button that would be really really nice
I go over that at around the 3:17 mark. Just select the "brew off auto off" button which serves as an on/off button

just add 1 cup of water and push brew.. I never use the 1-4 button.. If I need 3 cups..I add 3 cups of water with 3 tablespoons coffee..

Yes, if it is unplugged after a certain amount of time it will lose the programming.
Just put in the amount of water you want, the 1-4 button is really useless IMO. The temperature hotplate will not adjust if the brewing is on, unplug and then select the low med or high. Also no need for a paper filter.

How to brew regularily without timer: Open the top Fill carafe with water With top open look for the basket inside, put a filter in and coffee grounds, Close the lid, and hit Brew the button in the middle. It will start brewing. (Copied from another comment somewhere)

Clean light won't come off after cleaning it. Never will I buy Cuisinart again
Coffee makers - electric percolators and drip - are ALL built in Asia and DO NOT work!!!!!! Most people just want a simple coffee maker --- they don't make those anymore. Coffee is also NEVER HOT!!!!!

I'll be receiving this coffee make on Friday - sent by Costco. I have a feeling that I'll be returning. They purposely make defective coffee makers - they assume most people will toss them - then buy another brand. They're all the same - made in the Asian factories - sold at high prices --- and they NEVER work.
