Please review Pirastro Flexocore Permanent strings sometime. I've found that they are the warmest, fullest sounding steel strings. Opposite end of the string chart, compared to the Thomastik Prazision.

I have these strings on my Mandolin. Thomastik Precision Mandolin Strings are Flatwound Strings designed like Violin Strings.

“Präzision” is pronounced as Pra-tsi-zon. It’s a very nice name to the strings, I might use them on my viola once I get it. I might get a 5-string one for my high-school’s fiddle group. They sound really nice.

Do they jump almost a half step if you play hard on the strings? I guess you need to have fine tuners on all strings in order to tune them quick and easy.

Can you review the alphayue strings? And the rotosound strings too? I’m using these now and I’m not sure if it’s my strings or the pegs because they don’t stay in tune...

The Warchal Amber strings sounded best, out of these 3.
Something I've noticed from watching many of your string videos, is that the steel strings never sound bright/harsh. So, like you said, it must be how you play 😉

I’ve been looking at the tension charts for all these various thomastik strings, and I noticed that the präzisions are noticeably higher tension, along with super-flexible and spirocore. I can’t seem to find answers though to the question: isn’t this dangerous for your instrument to have that extra tension? I’m very curious to try these non-synthetic options, but I’m very very afraid I will damage my instrument.

Hi . I also use steel core strings super flexible thomastik . Are prazision and helicore similar 🤔 although both are medium tension. I'm confused. If you have any idea

Steel strings are usually slightly higher tension than other types of strings. Nearly all modern instruments are built to withstand the higher tensions and only vintage instruments that haven’t been maintained or modernized would have a large risk of damage from them. Higher tension strings can sometimes make an instrument louder but they could choke the sound on other instruments. Would be worth trying higher tension strings for fiddle/jazz styles or more budget instruments that are relatively quiet/dull

String manufacturers usually give the tension in lbs of pressure or newtons and you can refer to their websites for the exact tension

If you're a fiddle player you're probably playing through an amplifier anyway ????? Ever hear of acoustic jam sessions or acoustic presentation? That comment assumes fiddle players have pickups on their fiddle. Of course some players do but I guarantee there are many times more fiddle players (professional and others) who always play acoustically whether it's in front of a mic or not and want these strings for their power.
