- It is finished. Traders Domain is closed for business, having run out of money and unable to pay creditors.
The owner, Ted Safranko jumps on a call with Coffeezilla to argue that he has no responsibility, and is confronted with paperwork that suggests otherwise. Coffeezilla discovers even more evidence from the Traders Domain backend provider B2Broker including support chats that show fraudulent record keeping, and finally Coffeezilla puts together 9000+ daily account statements in order to map out the scheme. And finally somehow Jordan Belfort the "Wolf of Wall St" makes an appearance.

The investigation and narrative could be influenced too easily. A few well placed bribes, and the truth doesn't get out. Independent work may not pay as well, but you aren't selling your soul in the process.

True, but to be honest, if the government wants to do anything about this, they have to have solid evidence (which in this case might be scatered around the world in different countris that might not cooparate with the authorities of a specific country). Coffeezilla has alot of evidence, that in court would be chalanged as hearsay or surcumstantial. It is much easier to "convict" someone on social media than it is to criminally charge them.

He's built up this narrative in his head that cancel culture is the worst offender in today's society, and that he's just trying to make a living trading, a victim of clout chasers. A lot of rich people and politicians seem to have these same qualities, which is why they're so terrifying.

@@timetraveler0002 Honestly I think it's more probable that they just don't understand crypto/online spaces enough to do a good job. A lot of our (the world's) governments are made of people not familiar enough with the tech used in the fields they regulate/govern. Coffee got his leads from posts on Reddit, Twitter, etc and by contacting people through their socials.
Crypto spaces use a lot of lingo, and the process of trading is complex even if you understand regular financial scams and the internet. Then Coffee sorted through a mountain of emails with a Python script. People in government and regulating agencies might know enough to tweet about their life/politics now and then, but that doesn't equate to the skillset and creativity needed to thoroughly investigate this. Of course, "experts" in govt agencies need to realize that and get training on/about these platforms.
I really despise the argument "i didn't make them do anything, they did that of their own free will". if you made it like they had no other choice, it wasn't their own free will. They weren't properly informed. They were manipulated into making a choice.
There are numerous studies done to show the lengths people go to when they feel they're being forced or they're being coerced. It's genuinely scary what people will do when they feel like they have no choice.
It's like saying "that guy gave me his wallet of his own volition, and the gun I pointed at him had nothing to do with it".

I could never gain much interest in more financial crimes such as this, despite their importance, but your breaking down the details and making a story out of your investigation has me hooked!
