    I do give the priorities a bit complexing, You used 1080p because it's "entry level" / beginners. But the GPU is a 3070 ti, not exactly a cheap card. And the people I've met that would be willing to pay for something like a 3070 ti, they definitely have 1440 in mind. Even if they don't buy it at the same time.
    I feel like 1440p should've been tested cause of that card. *Only* 1080p seems more like 3060, maybe 3060ti

    • @Mini-z1994
      @Mini-z1994 Год назад +1

      Yeah 3070 ti is even capable of 4k on some bit older titles, like say gta online, killing floor 2, borderlands 1,2 remasters & certainly does high refresh rate 1440p on e-sports titles.

      If you only have gaming in mind you maybe have right, but still if you want good RT you maybe can need a better card only for that. I use 1440p screen and have a rtx 3070ti and it's a bit to slow imo, but I never play games on that computer, I do other stuff like edit 4k+ videos, render some 3D animations and so on. An other thing is that even if you use 1080p when you buy the computer you maybe swap the monitor next year, most of them that buy prebuild computers use them for years and not upgrade or something so have a bit headroom is not a bad idea

    Found this video today. I have a new Yeyian PC on the way via Newegg. i5 13400, 16GB DDR5 5200, 4070 Super for $1,289 USD. I hope this deal doesn't turn out to be too good to be true! Side note, as I wait for the PC to arrive I already have T-Force 32GB DDR5 6400 ($97 on Amazon) sitting on my desk ready to be installed. Total cost on this tax free week in FL will be $1,386 for the PC, and RAM. So now, obviously I need to upgrade to 1440p. So I grabbed a curved 34" Ultrawide KTC brand monitor for $254.99 on a flash deal (is now back to $299.99). Overall total $1,641. Providing this all works as planned this will be quite a solid deal getting all this for under $2k!

    I'm glad they sponsored you, but I can't trust the quality of the product specifically because it's a sponsorship. They handmade and handpicked a build to send you, so we can't for sure know that that's their normal build quality. And I don't agree with your choice of testing everything in 1080p. Someone new to PC gaming isn't buying a $1700 1440p gaming PC to stream themselves playing CSGO or Rocket League in 1080p. That's such an unrealistic scenario, and I don't understand why you did it that way. Prebuilts have almost always been poor value, but showing off a mid to high end PC doing basic gaming that would be better suited for a 6600 or 3060 with a 12400F definitely doesn't make a prebuilt seem more compelling

    • @CraftComputing
      @CraftComputing  Год назад +4

      I can assure you, all of their builds use the same quality parts. They didn't send me an EVGA Supernova, and then swap for a no-name 300W PSU when no one is looking. That's the main reason I accepted the sponsorship.
      Prebuilds are not "always" a terrible value, and that's what I wanted to show off here.
      As far as your 1080p comments, I wanted to show competitive games running at 144 locked, and that's exactly what I saw in benchmarks. Not everyone wants all the eye candy turned on, not everyone has the same idea of performance as you.

    • @wiziek
      @wiziek Год назад

      @@CraftComputing Why are you ignoring parts of comments that are relevant like build quality but inconvenient to you, instead of focusing on part selection?

    • @UncleLayne
      @UncleLayne Год назад +1

      I wasn't doubting the quality of the individual parts they used because that would end up falling under false advertising, I'm referring to the packing quality and the care put into assembling the build. There's a reason prebuilts have the negative reputation about build quality and attention to detail. Given that these guys are smaller than the really bad prebuilt OEMs, I think it's more likely that their builds would be held to a higher standard, but this being a sponsorship is what makes me call it into question, because consumers can't know for sure if that level of care is universal or just for advertising presentation. In all fairness, the only hardware I have an issue with would be the webcam, because almost no webcams are genuinely 1080p quality. They may output a 1080p video, but the actual recordings are almost always 720p or 900p, and the footage in the video didn't look like a true 1080p capture. But as far as the benchmarks go, my issue isn't about my standards for performance. The 3070ti is marketed and made for 1440p gaming. The 13700KF is a high end multitasking/content creation beast. You could achieve the same goal of 144hz locked with a 3060ti and 13600KF and have spent $400 less. You benchmarked to the standards of what a beginner PC gamer would be playing on entry-mid range hardware, but on parts that are several tiers above what a beginner would be paying for. NVENC on a 3060ti or even base 3060 will still do all the things you mentioned, and the hypothetical gamer would still have GPU power to spare. As for someone that is actually serious and knowledgeable about playing competitively, they wouldn't have everything maxed out in the first place because that actively impedes them and clutters up the screen. If the hardware were different or the hypothetical user were different, the benchmarks would be totally fine, but as they are I just really don't think they match up the way you think they did

      @@wiziek I understand your frustration with his answers, but being accusatory isn't helping. I'd like to have a fair and civil talk, and you putting him on the back foot or potentially making him feel defensive won't make him feel inclined to give anyone a straight answer

    • @CraftComputing
      @CraftComputing  Год назад +1

      ....did you see any issues with build quality? I certainly didn't, which is why I accepted the sponsored video request. I focus on the parts because it's not like they plugged in things wrong. Temps were more than acceptable. 4mm thick glass and acceptable build quality on the case and fans.
      Don't want to buy it.... Fine, don't. But don't come in here claiming it's crap because you can't accept information that isn't delivered by Steve.

      @@wiziek This isn't fair to the company that sponsored Craft. GN has had a couple of pre-builts that were fine, like the ABS Challenger.
      In addition, in principle, not all pre-builts are crap because not all people have the skills or desire to build their own. PC gaming should be more accessible than said blanket statement.
      Unless someone else specifically mentioned this computer as being a poor choice, we can't know for sure it's quality outside of this video. The specs are fine, though the case does look subpar for thermals for the GPU. The CPU is probably fine because the radiator is at the top.
