      I think you had a good idea when you said the videos should come with a warning. You could put a warning label along with a picture of the guest. Maybe with a warning symbol and something like "WARNING: Your Christian beliefs may be changed by watching this video" or "WARNING: Your Christian beliefs may be challenged by watching this video". Or you could change each label to the topic of the week so for Isaiah "WARNING: Your beliefs on demons/Yoga may be changed by watching this video" or with Bethany "WARNING: Your beliefs about sex/swearing may be changed by watching this video". That way the focus is on discussing conflicting beliefs and not the brother or sister in Christ (which is the point of the series) :)

    It also seems dishonest to act like “gay people can have a relationship with god they just need to suppress being gay” like that’s easy or as easy as not drinking alcohol or killing someone or a different sin. Would it be easy to not be straight for you whole life? And more important than easy, would it lead you to a happy life?

    • @ryliethompson2915
      @ryliethompson2915 7 месяцев назад +3

      Except in the eyes of God it is the same. It’s a sin that people wrestle with. We are called to suffer for Christ and fight the battle of sin. It doesn’t mean we pick what makes us “happy” because ultimately God and his will for us is what brings ultimate joy. We are called to suffer as Jesus did and are never promised an easy life being a Christian.

    • @katherinewindstrup4243
      @katherinewindstrup4243 7 месяцев назад +8

      @@ryliethompson2915 that’s sounds intellectually dishonest. You wrestle with not wanting to murder someone everyday? Also being born with same sex attraction is very different than making a choice to sin. Christian’s tend to use the same euphemisms over and over again but they don’t actually mean anything. “It’s a sin people wrestle with” isn’t true. Sexuality is a beautiful aspect of all humans. the church makes it seem like a bad thing someone needs to wrestle. Without the church’s damaging messaging people are able to feel that “ultimate joy” and be gay.

    As a deconstructing Christian, I would like to loudly and confidently say that I would spend 24-hours with P+M before I would spend 24-minutes with ABS. I don't know if there is a worse example of a kind and warm person. She is rude, she is cruel, she others anyone who doesn't conform to her views (religious and political), and she speaks down to people in the worst, most prideful ways. The cruel way you both misgendered Dylan over and over again was really disgusting and heartbreaking to watch, but that is Allie 100% of the time.

    I liked the 24 hours with Bethany video! I really wish the dialogue conversations we saw were a little longer though. Like when Paul was talking to Dave about cussing, it seemed like we didn’t really get the full picture of what Dave thought about it. I would have liked to hear more of the back and forth between Paul and Dave to understand both sides. Kinda like the conversation clip at the end of the video where we got to see a lengthier clip of all 4 of you guys talking. I feel like the longer clips help us to actually understand the other side rather than just getting short clips and then not really knowing what they actually think about it.

    10 minutes in and I’m already annoyed. I’m going to keep watching, but I would’ve thought Paul would be the one to disrespect Dylan and call her a “he”, but he’s actually making an effort to call her by her name without sacrificing what he believes about another person’s existence, so props to him on some degree. Morgan however straight up said “Nope. I’m not going to respect Dylan’s wishes. I will say ‘he’ even tho Dylan has expressed multiple times how much it hurts her’. Regardless of what you believe about the trans community that’s just disrespectful and as a Catholic myself, I am extremely disappointed. Shame on you.

    I personally wouldn't want a marriage that has as many differences as theirs does, but I think seeing their marriage portrayed and how they work through their differences to love one another is also really important. I now have more sympathy if Bethany posts something where I think she's reacting too strongly to her old views now I see the journey she's on and what she's working through with the differences in her marriage tying to understand where Dav is coming from which can understandably mean she may say things very differently than she used to. To be honest, I wasn't a big fan of that Thanksgiving reel but getting a little glimpse of her story I feel I understand her more. Hopefully people realise this is the purpose of 24 hours, it's not always about agreeing with everyone, but sometimes seeing where they come from before you judge!

While I hold a lot of your values and beliefs, I chose not to subscribe because I do not agree with HOW the message comes out, which truly is important if we want to reach people respectfully. Just a tiny example from this video, Morgan stated that she “would give Dylan grace”. A genuine question: If a man is going to identity as transgender and present themselves as female either way, would you rather A) they be an atheist who discourages people from the faith, or a person that has a relationship with god and encourages others to do the same?
    While I do appreciate trying to have some open mindedness on the topic and I understand you chose to live your lives as closely aligned with scripture as possible. But what I don’t understand is discouraging or criticizing how someone choses to have a relationship with god.

    • @kaitlinrose6352
      @kaitlinrose6352 7 месяцев назад +4

      I think part of the problem is that we don’t decide if we’re good with God or not, God does. And His Word is how we know what He says about a right relationship with Him. So, if someone thinks they’re good with God but aren’t, we don’t want the blind leading the blind because it could just lead more people to think that they’re good with God when God says they aren’t. You have to repent and believe to be saved. No one is sinless, even if they’re saved. But we do try to sin less, and ask God to change us. Dylan doesn’t seem to think some major things need to change. That doesn’t mean he isn’t being acted on by God. It is highly possible God is moving in his life and eventually he will repent and be saved, but as of now, the fruit is that Dylan is still lord of Dylan’s life.
      I hope that makes sense. It has less to do with Dylan identifying as a girl, and more to do with him living in open and unrepentant sin in general. It is like if a pastor was committing adultery, unrepentant. He shouldn’t be leading the flock.

Also he wouldn't be allowed to be in any leadership roles, or take communion.

    Great video. Truth spoken here! I love how you brought the gospel into your Dylan response. Also love the bible verses!
    I think that before people are saved they can have a perspective of not having a problem with sin (lust: gives me pleasure, theft: why wouldn't God want me to have this nice thing, murder: everyone would be happier if this person was gone, etc.). But when we become saved, and usually starts before we're saved when we get convicted by out conscience to bring us to our knees before the cross, we see sin how God sees it with a new heart with new desires. It can be as simple as not seeing the seriousness of sin and how offensive it is to God (not to mention bad for us in the long run).
    "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
    But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
    Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
    Do not err, my beloved brethren." James 1:13-6
    I also think that if people would transpose another kind of sin, like "adultery", into their phrasing, they would see how ridiculous it sounds. Like say, there was an Adulterous community that lived that constant lifestyle, praised that lifestyle, and said God loves them that way. That would be ridiculous.
    "Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them." Romans 1:32

    Thumbnail suggestion:
    Honest sensationalism-
    • For the thumbnail, incorporate a photo of the guests’ face that capture them in a heightened or raw emotion instead of using a formal photo of them, because the formal photograph in the thumbnail doesn’t necessarily communicate ‘raw and unfiltered’
    • Perhaps, try using a photo of them looking uncomfortable, timid, aloof in the episode. I think these kinds of photos in the thumbnail help better illustrate the meaty nature of video. Or just be more intuitive when choosing a photo of them
    • You can try adding mini captions like WE WEREN’T EXPECTING THIS or HE CHANGED MY MIND in the thumbnail to add some reasonable shock value
    • and my last suggestion, for the thumbnail is to add “24hrs ep #” so that people who aren’t subscribed know that 24hrs is a series
    Descriptive title-
    • this can also help better illustrate what the meat of the video is
    • For example, instead of just a plain “24 hrs with Isaiah Saldivar” , first try describing an element of the video that stood out the most or an unknown fact about them (that ideally corresponds with the thumbnail) and then 24 with…
    • Here are a few templates to brainstorm off of:
    𝗪𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗲 | 𝟮𝟰𝗵𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗮𝗵 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗿
    𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘂𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 | 𝟮𝟰𝗵𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗹
    𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱 | 𝟮𝟰𝗵𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 ___
    𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻 ___, __, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 __ | 𝟮𝟰𝗵𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿
    I do agree that 24hrs is missing the clickbait and without a doubt it can be done in a way that is true, lighthearted, and garners anticipation for raw Christian conversations
    I really like the preview montage at the beginning of every episode - try compacting those juicy bits into the concept of the thumbnail and title!
    Hope these suggestions help :)

    Regarding the 24 hrs with, I think it would be cool to see footage of you guys traveling, arriving at the guests’ houses, etc. And regarding the the thumbnails I think it could be cool to have darker undertones and more serious looking fonts (if that makes sense lol), along with some blurred image of an important highlight of the video. I also think it would be good to take the most controversial part of the video and turn it into the title. “______ confessed his struggles with _____.” Or, “We disagreed with this point _____ brought up.” Or maybe just a candid picture of the guest with several controversial or unexpected lines from the conversation scattered all over the thumbnail. Idk something along those lines.

    Genesis says "God made them male and female," but in the same pattern it also says that He made night and day. We know that there are many times between night and day, like dawn and dusk, so it's not an exhaustive list of all the possibilities. It is just two of the possibilities that lie on the ends of the spectrum, and presumably it's just referring to genitals since it's talking about the physical part of creation.

    We would say God’s love for US as humans is unconditional- its his love for our sin that is not unconditional. “for God so LOVED the world that he gave his one and only son.” Jesus loved us, while we were still sinners, so much - to make a way for us to be reconciled back to the father. Also - we are not all children of God! We become children of God when we accept Jesus. We are given the RIGHT to become a child of God - it’s not a given.
    We just had an ex- gay/transgender couple on our channel (most recent video - check it out)! Probably the best explanation of how we can speak truth in love, that we’ve ever heard!

We shouldn't want to be conditioned into seeking the most extreme and sensational (may I say gosspiy?) content. If a video ends up more spicy than the title let on, great. If we're expecting spicy and getting boring, that's wrong on many different levels.

    My question about the transgender pronouns and Morgan you said that you will call a person by their birth pronouns as that is what God intended. My genuine personal struggle is if a person were to be born with a disability that would mean they would die early if not operated on.... I think everyone would agree on the operation being good. No one would say "dont seek medical attention only trust God to heal you as it must be what He intended because you were born this way".
    So if a person experiences severe gender disphoria that it makes them want to end their life, and a transition would save that life, is that not similar? I'm talking adults making this change not justifying children being medically transitioned.
    Just wrestling with it after talking with a trans person who feels a gender transition saved their life, like its a health issue. Just after thoughts, thanks

    • @kaitlinrose6352
      @kaitlinrose6352 7 месяцев назад +2

      So, I think the problem is that how people *feel* is often times not true. So even though people who struggle with gender dysphoria *feel* like they will die without the transition, it just isn’t true. They’re not getting heart surgery. They’re not getting surgery on their brain. They’re getting their body parts changed cosmetically. It is like when a girl feels like dying because she thinks she’s fat even though she’s not. If a girl with anorexia could, she would probably get fat cut off her body, and would feel like it would change her life for the better a lot… except she weighs 115 pounds and is already underweight… the truth is both gender dysphoria and anorexia are mental illnesses. They can’t see or feel or think clearly. That’s why it isn’t good to play into their dysphoria by using their preferred pronouns. It might cause them emotional pain to hear the truth, but to use the pronoun that is a lie just reinforces their delusion, and in the end causes soooooo much more pain and harm than if they had been helped to face the truth and begin to love themselves the way God intended - not making their body their god or their feelings their god, but learning to love who God made them because GOD made them that way with a purpose and in love.
      I do think that people who feel like they want to kill themselves if they can’t have their body changed and everyone follow along with their delusion need a lot of good and true friends who love them and support them, but who will not lie to them. Lying is not loving, it just feels like it is. But it isn’t. Lying is normally pain avoidant. You don’t want to lose the relationship or feel like a bad person if the person is ends up turning on you and saying you’re causing them pain. But true love seeks the other’s good even if it means sacrifice and pain for yourself.
      Anyway, that was a little ranty. I don’t struggle so much with seeing how transitioning is NOT healthcare or loving, but I do struggle to have courage and love enough to tell the truth and not give into delusions for the sake of making my life easier :/

    I absolutely disagree that God’s love is not unconditional and I don’t think you can make a case for that biblically at all. Let me explain: 1) to make that argument the only logical explanation must be that his love is conditional. What are those conditions and how far till he no longer loves us? That isn’t something you can make a biblical argument for at all.
    2) The next question would be, does God allowing us to be given over to our sin mean he no longer loves us? Another argument you can’t make in scripture.

    If there is a brother or sister in the church that is in sin, we have the right to say something if they’re in the church but I am praying for Dylan of course because she needs a lot of prayer. I accept all your opinions, Paul Morgan, that you guys are very careful of what you guys say. You guys are very very honest Christians, I wish more Christians can be more honest like you too because I love God so much with all my heart and soul and strength. I wish I can meet you both, but I am praying for Dylan. We all know that Paul says that homosexuality is a sin. It does say that in the Bible, but we cannot say anything to anyone in the world but if they are Christian and they say they are and they go to church we do have the right to say something if someone is living in sin, Paul did say we are too if they are our brother or sister in Christ we have to learn how to take criticism even when we don’t like it.

    God’s love is unconditional! There’s nothing we can do to earn it or even take it away but that doesn’t mean God doesn’t have rules and boundaries! God is forgiving, think of the worst person in your eyes, if they go to God sincerely with a willing heart God will forgive them! That to me is unconditional love! Unconditional love doesn’t mean there’s no consequences for actions, unconditional love also doesn’t you have to be in the presence of that person! If we cry out to God, He will help us! That itself is unconditional love! Even those that will be in the lake of fire because of their actions and their choice, God love them. However they didn’t love God and that’s why they will end up in the Lake of fire!

    Can I push back on y’all a little on one point? I think when you try to relate to Dylan Mulvaney by saying “we are bad people too” I think that’s a little bit of an incorrect way to say it. We are not “bad” we just all struggle with sin. We are actually good, God loves all of us, we are His beloved sons and daughters, we just screw up. But we need to truly be sorry, and God does forgive! And if Dylan understood his GOODNESS that God gave him, instead of dwelling on his “badness,” that may help him grow! I do agree that we all deserve hell because we are people who make mistakes, and bad decisions, but there is HOPE!

I loved her response to Lauren Diagle's unwillingness to mention Roe VS Wade; she's the only content creator I heard who didn't question Lauren's salvation, just urged her to be more bold and outspoken in what she said, and reminded her on what was non negotiable for Christians. One of the reasons I was put off a lot of the "reformed" world, is how judgmental their channels can seem to be, but Allie seems to balance trurth and love; and she also brings a balance on issues like Andrew Tate, Trad Wives and other issues many in the conservative world don't have.

    God’s love IS unconditional. But I think people misunderstand what that means. He loves us so much that He calls us to turn away from sin that leads to our deaths. If we live in sin, God still loves us just as much. But He is not pleased with us, and knows our choices are destroying us. It will cause Him great sadness and pain. God’s love for us is eternal, AND the wages of sin is death. Sin kills us. Sin sends us to hell.

    What in the…..my head is still trying to wrap around this video. I actually paused this video after 15 minutes and took the time to pull up TikTok to watch the full Dylan M video, then came back here.
    Others in the audience and P&M themselves already know I am not conservative at all, much more of a progressive Christian. For the record, I can’t stand Allie Stuckey. It’s not because she’s conservative. I listen to P&M all the time even though they are considerably more conservative than I am. She has an abrasive, bullying personality that isn’t appealing. As soon as I listen to her, she makes me feel like the smallest person in the audience and I’ll never amount to more than a bald, talking chimp. I can’t stand Girl Defined either, though in their defense, I am not their target audience and P&M’s recent video makes me hate them considerably less. On the other hand, P&M are likable people who if I saw in the lobby at church, I would go say hello to.
    There are a couple things I need to get off my chest here. Firstly - Jesus is not your boyfriend. Nobody should be “dating” God. Ladies - you should never, ever, EVER be referred to as “Jesus Girlies” by anybody. I realize Dylan was trying to use an analogy - but there are many layers of inappropriateness here. As progressive and liberal as my mind is, I just can’t give her that. I have got to take Morgan’s side here - it’s weird. It’s not your imagination - no matter how progressive you are, it’s still weird.
    Where I differ is that I believe that the Bible is loaded with ambiguity. Conservatives tend to approach the Bible in a black and white sort of way. It’s either right or it’s wrong, that’s just what the Bible says. The problem with thinking that way is that what makes the Bible such a powerful and timeless book is the fact that it’s not arbitrary. It’s not a book of rules, laws, or even facts. It’s a book of WISDOM. The Old Testament repeats many of the same stories from different time periods, by different authors, from different perspectives. You can’t just pick out verses to prove whatever your viewpoint is. History, context, translation and sources outside of scripture all matter. The sooner you can admit that, the better your relationship with God will be.
    The Apostle Paul teaches us in multiple places of the NT to love one another and do not judge. Everyone is guilty of judging. Conservatives love to do it and hate to admit it. The Allie Stuckeys of the world have got to learn to coexist with the Dylan Mulvaneys of the world.
    I love you all. I don’t agree with anybody all the time, but I love coexisting with people that are different. To want to be in a community where everyone is just like me is to miss out on the nuances of humanity that make the short life that we have on earth interesting.

    I think it's really great that y'all talked to people who criticize you. I think people like Dav because he is trying to follow a very loving and non-judgemental christian view of the world. Something that resonates with the empathy of Jesus and an openness to others. He also looked humble in that a lot of people read the bible differently and he implied that it was complicated to say what exactly is meant by the passages. And considering how humans arent supposed to fully understand God, I think it resonated with christians and non-christians alike.
    So I think the way you frame people's appreciation of Dav as standing less on the bible seems to imply that (in your opinion) standing on biblical principles is being less compassionate than Dav is being, while also insisting that you know how the bible should be interpreted since you think some people aren't doing that specific version of the doctrine.

    Maybe use Paul’s Sweater in the thumbnail?! (Kidding!) Your thumbnail just as it is, pulled me in! Regarding the ‘Dav over Paul’ comment & the likes…
    my *question to those who gave Dav the ‘thumbs up’, is…
    what do you find “warm, friendly & respectful” about his unwholesome talk? (Ephes. 4:29)

    I’m wondering if maybe God’s love is unconditional (he loves us even in judgement since God is love) but His favor/blessing is not. Thoughts?
