People often want to dismiss genetics, but the truth is that some people will always be able to kick harder due to genetics. Same with punches and so on.
Genetics only helps you become stronger or more fit. Genetics has way too much attasched to it to say genetics help you kick harder. Technique helps 100%. Genetics can make you bigger in size but you can still hit soft.

Another great post. Genetics is crucial and well done for saying that first. It creates natural fighting styles, the one your comfortable with. If you’re not a power kicker up your game with the other weapons.
I like your videos. I would say one of the most difficult things in explaining the kick is getting the practitioners to realize the leg is delivered to the target as a result of a whipping effect of the body. The torso or shoulder line (I always try to tell people that if you made a T from behind with your spine and your shoulder lines) when y out step toward the target your torso and shoulders lead and pulls the hip and leg into the target in a whipping motion. It’s intricate but looks simple, the kick doesn’t actually have much leg action it’s a result of rotational energy by the torso and shoulders and arm releasing as the leg whips into the target. Thanks for sharing!!
@@Muaythaipros oh thanks man! I really love breaking down technique and one of my favourite things is teaching the art the way it’s supposed to be taught... Thai style! I hope Thailand is great bro! It's always good to think about the best ways to teach concepts to beginners. As long as you don't venture into protest zones, Thailand is pretty safe, aside from motorbike risk. Cheers.
@@bricktea3645 hey bud, one thing I would suggest is as you step forward toward the bag, try to ensure your whole body goes toward the bag (push off the rear foot and step forward) as you do this the arm goes to a diagonal position across the chest/ neck (35 degrees?) turn your torso/ shoulder the direction you are kicking and the body turns and the arm sort of just opens up as a compliment in motion. if you want an understanding of the motion maybe try a standing position to understand the body mechanics….example- If you stand with your feet shoulder width apart, now turn your shoulder one direction, you should feel a slight pull in the opposing hip area… this is the chain of motion when you kick, the leg follows that chain of motion almost like a whipping effect into the target. When you are kicking… try make sure that you continue the shoulders turning all the way into the target… some people have a hard time, they try to use the arm and end up pulling the same side shoulder back away from the target… make sure you continue the shoulder turn right through to impact and beyond. It’s hard to break it down without being there to see you, or to help you feel the body mechanics. I hope that made sense? Best of luck!
the first one is basically don't load up. gotta think about if more speed and mass equals more power and if you tense up too much and it's heavier BUT SLOWER will not only make your kicks less powerful but basically makes it easier to avoid. the human eye is very efficient, gotta be both fast and powerful.
I saw your vid but I am talking about the whip like motion u have to generate with your torso and shoulder and finally having your arm swing release it. When I swing my arm I can really feel that whip but transitioning that to a kick is something I can't seem to do.
Please don't bring genetics in to this. It will make people think they are not cut out for something. While it is true that at the most elite stages of training genetics matter, the people these video's are for will not have genetics limit them. Its usually prior training someone else has, usually with the same kind of sport or training in a gym that will make them kick harder, punch faster or whatever it is they are better at. This difference can be made up by propper strength, technique and flexibility training. In the end THIS is what will make you better then 90% of people and I believe this is the message you should have started with. The image of others being talented or gifted and that that talent is unobtainable is something that stops a lot of people from achieving what they want to achieve while "all" that is required is propper training.
The reason I talk about genetics is I know foreign fighters who are good at Muay Thai (30-50 fights), and they have very weak kicks. One person is a killer in the clinch, but his body type is very slow twitch and not very explosive. Everyone can increase the power of their kicks with the right technique and training, but people need to realize that your genetics do play an important role in how hard you can kick. As I mentioned at the end of the video, the point is to compare yourself to yourself and keep getting stronger, but not make comparison with others who might have advantages (genetics or athletic background in sport etc.)
@@Muaythaipros your absolutely right, people have to focus on what they can do better or else it false hope and years wasted and being disappointed when your expectations aren't met on something u never had. U can outshine your opponent if u focus on your strength which maybe is weakness.

If you have more muscle your going to be stronger hence be able to kick harder
