I get the vibe that Deimos is the youngest of the 3 protagonists. He seems a little more jovial and willing to joke around than the others. And after playing some of Project Nexus he has a bit more of a self assured, cocky attitude than Sanford when it comes to his expertise in Hacking. As far back as Madness 5.5 you can see their relationship as Sanford acting as more of a caretaker to Deimos, bandaging him up mid combat while he tries to press on.
He’s also canonically the shortest out of the 3.

No wonder Hank shows up as even more of a killing machine every time he gets resurrected. He spends several days being constantly shot, punched, and stabbed.
Maybe the first time and maybe the 4th? but the times in between occurred instantly.
So many great questions: Like why touching hank from MC3 caused Deimos to acquire weird powers over the landscape of hell. Is Hank just such a fucking badass that his might bends the fabric of hell itself? Does everyone in the afterlife STILL cower at the day hank dies (again) and comes back to kill them all once more? Does being in hell in general for too long make you fuse to its fabric and become one with it?
@@YCCCm7 with each resurrection, hank comes back angrier and more skilled, to the point that he refuses to keep fighting after getting killed by tricky, only to tell him to knock it off after ignoring his plea (since hank is, perhaps, tired of fighting so much). Perhaps hank gets more violent and angrier at the prospect of having to complete hell's course to get out, giving him a lot of practice at killing at the same time.

That was actually sad. Deimos backed away from Sanford when he was advancing towards him and even put his hand up while he was on the ground. He couldn't shoot him, even if he wasn't real.
Plus, you can see the anger in him when killing the agent after the agent killed sanford. You can see it since he shot every single part of that agent

There's some game going on here.
Everyone is focused with the "Deimos is in hell" representation here but tbh i kinda think this also explores Deimos's past as well. Seems like everyone has already decided that Deimos was a former ATP Engineer, but if you remember Deimos also has a fondness towards the Agents shades. Also the fact that Deimos's wanted poster says "Can not reformat" as opposed to Sanford's "Will not reformat" make me believe that the 1st Grunt in Sacrifice is a representation of past Deimos because Deimos literally comes from the hole that Grunt create.
I think the writings "IT HURTS" is supposed to be either Deimos's pain that his reformat into an agent is a failure or he's just sad that he can't reformat.
Also all the posters that are AAHW related always seems to be belitling Deimos like "DO YOUR JOB" "WE ALWAYS THOUGHT you were a little on the small side" and "THE AAHW NEEDS YOU just kidding, can you imagine tho?" mocking him for his failure as an AAHW member.

What I love about this series is that anyone who smokes dies. Deimos, to date I believe, is the only one who’s smoked and didn’t die almost immediately after, even if he did die eventually. Then he got the rock mouth after DedmosRebuilt, so now he literally cannot smoke.

1:11 i like the detail that Deimos tried to light a cigarette while falling upside down, but when he ignited his thumb, the flame was burning in the opposite direction, causing him to burn himself and change his orientation.
Okay, this is great. Considering that in this universe, Hell is essentially Deimos' playground/prison, he can learn to adapt to the harsher conditions given to him and survive. Also I would love to admit how Deimos can overcome his lack of seriousness and when need be, just become an absolute badass. This is why Madness Combat is such a great series. Krinkles is able to literally give his characters life, even if you can't hear them speak.

This has a completely different vibe than Hank's journey through the other place. Yeah it was chaotic and dangerous but this felt like a personal nightmare for Deimos. I gotta say though it's satisfying to see him effortlessly dodge those impaling spikes in dedmos rebuilt after all he went through
So to my understanding of the three characters
Hank is a psychotic killer with the skill to take down trained professionals with his bare hands with an enhanced crab/demon arm that produces electricity and gives him semi telekinetic capabilities
Deimos is a corpse with a body infused with stone, who has geo kinetic abilities and gets to summon chains, along with having a high level of battle sense.
And Sanford is a lucky bastard with a hook, and these powerhouse’s best friend. I fucking love this series

Deimos grips the slide as it fires, preventing the gun from cycling to the next round. This is why he racks it before entering the next room. I hadn't noticed this in previous viewings, I had just assumed he was wasting a bullet to be cool.

@@RlderX Deimos held the top of the gun (which is supposed to move back when fired) so the next bullet wasn't in the right place (the chamber). He had to move back to top of the gun by hand, ejecting the last bullet and putting the next bullet in the chamber.

@@pietroseiji9621 it is tricky, not mc3 hank. The bakery is where tricky was turned to a zombie, so it makes sense for him to be there. The bandages on his head reflect one other way tricky died, which was having the top of his head cut off by Hank.

I think one of the most interesting details about this is how Deimos becomes less and less of himself the longer he is in purgatory, until he re-enters Nevada at the end

I like how hell torments and distorts Deimos - his personality and soul, in the end he does not even hide HOW MUCH he likes to kill and what pleasure violence and fear bring him, which actually his bloodlust strongly contrasts with Hank and Sanford. For Hank and San, violence is a means to an end, and for Deimos it is an end in itself, Hank and San do not particularly mock because they need to kill the enemy to survive or achieve the goal, but Deimos openly mocks opponents and then also over corpses, he revels in the horror that they experience in front of him, he frankly likes that HE is the cause of someone else's fear

I like how the more the madness combat series goes on the more reality fades and everything is distorted just because of the improbability drive
I love that the music became more whimsical when Deimos fully realizes what he's capable of after he gets patched up, then starts getting more distorted and traditional as he's closer to the point where he gets resurrected. Like hitting that point where you've started lucid dreaming, then you start waking up.
I feel like it kind of hits its peak at 5:33, when that "top" melody gets added in. 'Adds to that "kid during Christmas" happy vibe, idk how to word it

So I guess the tentacle is representative of Hank, and the Sanford apparition was representative of him feeling like he needs to protect the guy and how he's not capable on his own.
The massive people are all representative of the scale of his situation and how he's a small part in comparison, and his comeback to life is him becoming significant in that plot.

i love seeing deimos transform slowly from being a gun specialist to being literally the coolest brawler,its especially seen in the final episode when he is literally forced to use his melee skills to beat the giants since he's unable to use the oversized guns
for the entirety of episodes 1-4 he's been using guns to attack,only using melee as a last resort when he doesnt have any guns to use,and now seeing him ONLY use his melee skills is something super cool about episode 5.being forced to rebuild yourself and your tactics to suit the situation

There's also some more fuckery going on in this scene. Deimos slams his head in the ground and causes a rock to kill the first soldier. Guard stuck in a pose while still holding the gun. Then when Deimos shoots the third soldier. That guard slams his head into the ground and does the same thing to Deimos.

I wonder what they are implying. The world is already messed up as it is after being shattered by the improbability drive. Zombies have decimated entire towns, away from the cities it’s pure anarchy, inside the cities it’s a totalitarianism in literal definition, the agency controls all aspects of every day life with brutal force, and death has become a constant in every day life.
Yet I wonder how much worse could it possibly get? If they do drag back hell with them it’d be pretty interesting to see that burning building on fire scenario would look like.

OKAY SO. Something I noticed.
At 7:33, Deimos' body. It doesn't look like himself before being tossed into the rocks, but the locations of the wounds are exactly where they are on his freshly killed corpse in Madness Aggregation. My point? This is his actual corpse from Madness Aggregation, taken in by 2BDamned. It's either rotted, or blackened as a result of this purgatory he's in. Nevertheless I think it's safe to assume this is arc is canon, and that 2BDamned at some point retrieved Deimos's body in an attempt to revive him. But it took time, and as Deimos's body in purgatory began to decompose, so did his own in real life(?). We can also be pretty sure that the two guys in the beginning of CHASE.FLA are two other of the "Fellows" like Fellow9 who are trying to find Deimos in this world.
One of the signs refers to "Stabilizer Agents" as being "Sowers of Lies and Destruction", so I guess that's what these guys are. Stabilizer Agents. Would make sense anyway. ALSO 2BDamned is potentially the guy Deimos keeps in contact with during Aggregation? Would make perfect sense, they seem to know eachother

I noticed that when Deimos kills the Soldat at 2:45, he does it incredibly violently compared to how he usually kills - he was pissed.

Demios was always my favorite MC character. I’m so happy to see his story continue, even if it’s a lot darker for him.
Deimos discovered so many things here.
First the Bakery in Madness Combat 3 and Hank's corpse.
Second one is sanford in hallucination
Third is some of his hallucinations from engineers. The one who killed him and himself wearing an engineer mask which is why Engineer had normal blood and. not yellow.

Out of the early 00's flash animations, I'd have to say Madness has aged the best. You can feel weight to everything even in the original Madness Combat. But hey I could just be nostalgia blind, but I enjoyed my rewatch of them all tonight.
I just got in and it isn't nostalgia blindness cause I love it aswell
madness is just very efficently made. Krinkles is a master of sprite animation.
