    Let's also predict what can we expect from Paul in 2024 😸
    1. A shift in focus from Bricks Builder, Elementor, and Breakdance, leading to renewed attention on updating his older Crocoblock tutorials, specifically JetEngine and macros.
    2. More tutotrials about data analytics and charts. A detailed one about Independent Analytics, tools like Graphina Pro.
    3. More extensive and in-depth tutorials aimed at the advanced user.
    4. A brand new section with tutorials about integrations (tools like WP Fusion, Automator)
    5. WordPress and AI - review tools like AIKit
    6. An update of his thumbnail style - Paul holding a beer, Paul with a pair of Tom Ford glasses. And finally - Paul on a tropical beach, encapsulating the glamorous life of a WordPress educator.

    Things I look forward to see on WordPress for this year:
    1. Full implementation of the Fields API, leading to...
    2. A complete revamp to the Admin Interface.
    3. Interactions API (for Gutenberg).
    4. Notifications API and panel.

    it's unfortunate that elementor seems to be focusing more on it's hosting features rather than building and rolling out some much needed missing features

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  7 месяцев назад +1

      Sadly, I think you're right. Historically, they tend to release half features and a very long wait to get the other half to remove reliance on 3rd party plugins.

    • @biorig
      @biorig 7 месяцев назад

      Very true - Simply searching for "Elementor Pricing" takes you to the Cloud Hosting and is the default. Specifically searching for "Elementor Plugin Pricing" takes you to the Plugin place.
      Elementor was ruling the top of the Builders, but somehow their clever management thought they must abandon that position and go compete with a thousand other hosting services.

    I'm getting on really well with WordPress now. I've been making so many critical comments about it, but now I've mastered it, I don't think I'll be going back to coding.

    Great video. I always appreciate your opinions and thoughts Paul. I would like to see more video tutorials with Bricks. From simple and amateur to professional. I want to finally leave elementor pro!

      There is definitely more Bricks tutorials on the way. In fact, I released a new one today and have a second one coming out tomorrow as well as a full page build using Bricks with Core Framework (probably released next week).

    Regarding the divide between FSE and Classic Themes ..... the Hybrid themes like Kadence seem to be well positioned to fill the gap between the two ..... where hybrid themes have the advanced/granular editing features of the Block Editor, while also enjoying the quick & easy site wide configuration features of the Customizer.

    • @Line49Design
      @Line49Design 7 месяцев назад

      Although I don't think the term 'hybrid' generally refers to themes like Kadence, I fully subscribe (in the literal sense) to your assessment. It is the perfect middle solution and the smartest license to buy for the average small WP web design firm with a number of clients who want to self manage.

    The line between page builders and coding is getting thinner over time, I don't see how they are different anymore when it comes to complex layouts. For simple sites tho, they still do a great job of helping non-tech-savy making their pizza web page.

    Elementor is promising CSS selector options to apply across a website in a future edit...do you think they will get there for 2024? Also loop taxonomy queries. I know lots of people are talking about jumping ship, or staying but complaining. But I am still learning Elementor and I want client friendly interfaces so I am not ready to jump ship yet. The appeal of cleaner code and CSS class control is understandable though.

    • @WPTuts

      There was no mention of it during their 2024 roadmap, so it doesn’t look promising. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  7 месяцев назад +11

      I don't agree - when the law or governments get involved, we get all kinds of stupid ways to make simple things 100x more complex!

    • @jacoplane
      @jacoplane 7 месяцев назад

      @@WPTuts This is a sweeping generalization. There are many laws & ways that government has made life better for many people. If this was a bad law, then sure, but then demonstrate that, don't just demonize all legislation.

      @einatblackrose 7 месяцев назад +2

      I agree with you. If accessibility is optional, why would developer even bother making their websites accessible? I definitely think it should be mandatory.
      Paul, you're probably right claiming that governments stupidly complicate everything, but this is a problem on its own.
      Essentially, for as long as you can choose whether you want your website to be accessible or not, obviously you'll choose the easy route, and so will most web designers and developers. Now where does it leave the disabled? The law has to protect and assist them. Presumably, there are better ways to handle the regulations than most governments probably will.
