I was like 14 years old when this happened, i was playing the nhl game with the sharks all the time despite not knowing anything about their team and cheechoo was my favorite player without ever seeing him play haha i convinced my dad to get cheechoo for his auction fantasy that was super high end with big buy in, he got him for 1$ and won him his fantasy haha we both never forget it

Cheechoo was my favorite player to use in Ea Sports NHL 08. That game was so much fun. After that EA starting getting worse. For example, in my 09 ps2 game I put 74 rated Shane Willis on my first line and he scored 30+ goals... lol

You know why this happened? Beacause it was ps2 game. They didn't do anything for that console generation. Ps3 and Xbox360 NHL's were great. Ea started to regres when generation after that came. Fifa's are no longer enjoyable to play like they used to. NHL's slighly better gameplay wise for me but they should way better with every generation and this just didn't happen

I was rooting for Thornton to break 100 assists that season! Ever since my grandma bought me a Sharks jersey at a rummage sale sometime after the 1994 playoff loss the Red Wings suffered (I'm a lifetime 'Wings fan and Michigander), I was a Sharks fan as a secondary team to root for. When Cheechoo was lighting the lamp that season, I also wanted to see him crack 60. Either way, I was happy to see a relatively obscure player win the Richard Trophy that year, what a season for the Sharks offensively!

Injuries and no longer playing with jumbo hurt him. This was when the sharks threw anyone on jumbos left wing and they scored 40 goals. Hell even nials Ekman had a 40 goal year with Joe lol

Call me crazy but this was a direct correlation to playing alongside a hockey genius (in his prime) like Jumbo Joe
I have the feeling Mitch Marner is going to have the same effect on his teammates throughout his career (case and point..2 back to back 30+ goal seasons playing wing to Kadri and than helping Tavares set career highs this late in his career).. I'm so excited to see his growth- Infact I already think he should be wearing the C (if it weren't for the piranhas in the Toronto media)
