    I work for a stock major footage company, when it comes to frame rate it absolutely matters, I would strongly recommend 23.98 for everything, not 60fps. 60 fps will automatically disqualify your footage from consideration from all entertainment clients and most commecials ones.

    • @TomShagin
      @TomShagin 6 месяцев назад +2

      Thats annoying because most of the time when I'm looking for stock footage I'm usually looking for 60fps or higher to get slow motion for b roll or to have as a background for graphics

      We could use Hybrid, Handbrake, or Shutter Encoder to adjust those frame rates? You disqualify most of the stock, and news media adjusts for this and uses it anyway.

    Hey Matt, in the next video is it also possible to do a breakdown of how you add descriptions and keywords to your stock footage? That's a big struggle for me to get right. Wonder if anyone else feels the same.

    As a wedding videographer doing multiple locations a year. I spend around 30 mins just taking generic stock footage of the venue. Another videographer will most likely purchase the footage since they can be in a crunch, or dont have a 2 man team to go thru the details

    Model release forms are only needed when the footage will be used for commercial purposes, they are not needed when used in Editorial footage.

    2 ) I’m very intrigued for this next video about stock footage
    3 ) how do I get a release form for a spot that I had gone to ( still have access to but don’t wanna drive supper far ) to get the release form sign? It’s a racing spot and it’s Known

    @whoismatt you know how they deal with image rights, when the person in the scene only appears from the back, or part of the body... they still require image authorization from these people, or only when they appear from the front , the face...?
    And when someone appears from a distance, in a public place, too, or not?

    Hy Matt, great video as usual! in order to upload slowmotion clips to platforms but with the option for the buyer to reproduce at normal speed, do you only need to put the 60fps clip on a, say, 24 fps timeline and export like that, without changing attributes to the clip, just the speed? If I change attributes I guess it's no longer possible to reproduce at normal speed.

  • @RonaldBrown59
    @RonaldBrown59 Год назад

    I was wondering about the frame rates, you said shooting in high frame rates such as 60fps is preferred. But at what frame rate do upload your footage at? I’m guessing 60fps, so whoever purchased the clip can slow it down if they want to. Great video Matt, and thanks for sharing.

    • @boycefitzgerald
      @boycefitzgerald Год назад +1

      Upload it in 24fps so that the buyer can see it is in slow motion. Then the buyer can decide to speed it up or not. Best of luck.

    Very informative. Since it is business, investment in gear is equally important. So, what about camera technology? Do you think we have reached a point where investing in a 4K camera (e.g. FX3) will future proof for at least 3 to 4 years? Or, should we invest in a 6, 8 or 12k camera? Should we invest in a camera which shoots proper raw (you mentioned raw) like a Red or a Blackmagic? Sony unfortunately is really bad when it comes to raw. Or, should we just invest in good glass?

    • @lavapix
      @lavapix 9 месяцев назад

      There's no such thing as future-proofing when buying gear. Technology moves too fast. Ai software will make up the difference as it upgrades your video to 6k or 8k and beyond. Invest in the camera system of your liking and buy good glass. I still license footage shot 10 years or more ago from a GoPro 2. Stock video is quickly going the way of stock photography. What was once a lucrative market is now oversaturated. Best to have a great niche and stand out from the crowd.
