My young dude we are not called the volunteer state because we have no draft. The state of Tennessee had become known as the Volunteer State when a large number of volunteers fought in the War of 1812. By the start of the Mexican-American War in 1846, 30,000 Tennessee volunteers responded to the secretary of war’s call for 2,800, clinching the state’s nickname.
I love your videos. Thanks for taking me on that bike trail. I used to love to cycle, no longer at my age. Love to watch you driving and cycling in TN.
I enjoy seeing - ". . . greenest state in the land of the free . . . Davy, Davy Crockett . . ." - Tennessee through the eyes of you and your dad. I look forward to more. Classic car(s) ???
James, you are a great casual documentarian. I've watched right many of your piano videos and enjoyed them. I recently discovered your back roads series and they are so much fun. What I love about them is the beauty of the places you have visited and the historic information you share with us. I see that it has been three months since your last video on this channel and I guess that's because this was a summer vacation trip you created a channel for. It's February now and I really hope there will be more videos coming in the future. Your bike trip for this video was amazing. Thank you for sharing these videos with us!
Again a beautiful video ( I wanted to say review 😂) and a lot of beautiful scenery. Love it. Nice idea to use the electric bike. Did you notice that the -probably- original warning for a train crossover where still there. Just funny. I am very interested to see what you going to do but I am probably going to see it right here. Thank you for sharing and biking.
I Loved your video but you did not go to the end of the trail ? The Trail went another 3 miles beyond the Elizabethton city limits from where you were.
Loved the travel with the e-bikes, like the new sunglasses, plus lunch looked great, and wow what a beautiful trail from Johnson City to Elizabethton. The Tweetsie trail definitely looks beautiful. June bugs seem monstrously large haha and thankfully or at least hopefully, they don’t bite. Elizabethton has some really cool history and the buildings are awesome. I’m definitely looking forward to your next adventure. 🚴♂️😀
James, Here in our area of Washington State we have a lot of town/country paths. One is an old trolley line that ran from downtown Bellingham to Larabee park along Bellingham Bay. We also have trails that go from hillside developments into old growth forests. I used to go on 40 plus mile bike rides with my Peugeot racing bike, those e bikes make the ability to sightsee more fun. Thanks for a great time! Cheers, Rik Spector
The Morgan was not used in the making of this video. I believe that this channel will be flexible to the degree that different vehicles will be used in videos to make the most of what we are trying to show. I think you can expect other changes in the future as well along with everything you have seen so far. At the time of the making of this video we did not know if the other option would even take place, but fear not in two weeks time we believe something very cool will happen.
Want to take my New 2022 trek marlin 8 mtn bike on the tweetsie trail come April time. In the meantime I will learn to ride it on the kingsport,tn Greenway biking pathway down by the south holston river and by reedy creek areas of town.
When you wake up in the morning and the light is hurt your head. The first thing you do when you get up out of bed. Is hit that streets a-runnin' and try to meet the masses. And go get yourself some cheap sunglasses ... 😎
What kind of ebikes were you riding? I’ve been looking at the Lectric foldable model for my wife and I as we live in our Motorcoach and would like to use them as we travel and explore.
“Old iron horses” another great song (Restless Heart). I would enjoy a steam engine near by. Getting hit by a bug on a motorcycle is a bit more fun. Always wear proper PPE!

Awesome! Thank you!
Nice overview of the trail! Thanks…

We are presently on the road in the north east picking up another classic car to be uploaded soon.
Absolutely beautiful ❤😊

The pink building beside the courthouse was the first county jail. It’s now across the street in two much larger buildings.

Sure I did! I am not sure why the word “probably “ is crossed out. Is that because I put it between marks? That wasn’t meant like that.
I live close to the Tweetsie. Lots of people use it, and I recently became aware of an extension plan.

Glad you enjoyed it and yes we are also excited about where this channel is going.

We have some very interesting trips planned.
@@americasbackroadswithcharl7688 Maybe there will be some venues where you can perform, you never know:)
Cheers,

Lovely countryside that looks like England.
It makes for a fantastic drive.
able to carry the E-bikes on the Morgan? or you use some other vehicle? And you're quite the tease with the 'ifs' ;)

The carter county jail is the upstairs part of that building the Ground level is actualy where they hold court Now.
James, it's the court outhouse, because it's a house outside the court (get it?)
Very funny.

I love my sunglasses as I have always been very sensitive bright sunlight.
What kind of ebikes were you riding? I’ve been looking at the Lectric foldable model for my wife and I as we live in our Motorcoach and would like to use them as we travel and explore.
These are just cheap versions that came from Walmart online and are already starting to break, but cost under $600.00 USD.

A good idea for sure although I was wearing sunglasses. I guess you just can't be 100 percent safe at anything.
Carry gun , don't get robbed.
