It was named “the big bang” bu astronomer Fred Hoyle, who, at the time was a leading proponent of the “steady state universe”. The name “big bang” was a deliberately pejorative, an attempt to ridicule the theory. After multiple predictions from big bang theory were observed to be true in the 1960s (cosmic background radiation, distant galaxies all moving away from us) the name big bang just kinda stuck.

_"I wonder why sometimes why did they call it the Big Bang, _*_maybe its to distract us..."_*
Although I am sure its not, this comes off intellectually lazy at best & intellectually dishonest at worst. Speaking on such a grand subject but not being aware of or not doing the due dilegence to find out, how the name came to be? As knowing how the "Big Bang" was coined instantly tells one it couldn't possibly have been to "distract" anyone from anything because it was coined by Fred Hoyle speaking sarcastically & in a pejorative manner... Moreover, Hoyle coined it in this manner as he was vehemently critical of the theory & preferred the "steady state theory" which describes the Universe with no beginning nor end but always expanding and creating new stars & galaxies.
When ppl of faith attach "alterior motives" & boogeymen to everything including the coining of terms, they end up being taken much less seriously by those not of faith, those most in need of Dawah.

You seem to be stuck as to why they named it the Big Bang which is up to speculation and also the least important aspect of this conversation. If it was the way you say was then why don’t they change the name now since we have more information and evidence. This is of course to distract us from the truth. Like he said it wasn’t a big bang per se but like blowing up a balloon and expanding. So he is right in saying that!

Two opposing forces. Fusion or fission.I would speculate that what holds the Universe together is fusion as the primary force and fission as a secondary force. The big bang probably never happened but in quantum there still exists fusional functions and both opposing forces complement either other but I doubt that a big bang happened entirely. Bangs would appear as expansion exploding and imposing retraction.

    Hello Sheikh,
I am an undergraduate physics major with physics research experience and there are some flaws in your statements which I would like to respectfully correct for you Sheikh. Keep in mind I receive these corrections from my professors as well so I am just passing the knowledge along. You keep saying the universe is a certain way according to the Big Bang theory which is incorrect. The Big Bang theory is an idea explaining the current state of the OBSERVABLE universe. So why are you making claims about the “universe” when we are limited in our observability of it as a whole? The observable universe definitely has a beginning but that does not mean describing the universe as a whole beyond what we can observe also behaves the same way. What if time as a dimension behaves completely differently from what you would expect beyond the observable universe? In terms of this question I urge you to do research on the No Boundary Proposal. It is a fascinating idea and very mind-bending indeed.
In terms of the Olbers’ paradox, it was proposed in the year 1823 which is 82 years before the theory of Special Relativity was published. So he had no idea about Einstein’s discoveries which gives a solution showing how the speed of light “c” is constant causing light to take time to reach us from distant places and objects such as stars. This is why when you look out at the night sky you see mostly blackness because of the fact it is your distinct cosmological event horizon limiting when light can reach you.
Also I find it funny you are trying to say Dr. Stephen Hawking and Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson who are PhD physicists working in the field for years compared to you or me are wrong about some things relating to the Big Bang theory because you also fail to realize your own errors. Both me and you compared to them have a ton of humbling learning to do. If you want to use science to support your religious beliefs which they do not or even try to disprove scientific theories at least understand the information and take correction. We as scientists take correction and humbly admit our ignorance all the time which is why we can properly learn and make new discoveries. Therefore I hope you can also humble yourself to admit your own ignorance and take some time to read this comment while properly further researching like I am as well.
    Thank you so much!
    ,Very Respectfully
    Keith A. I. Huckleby

Well in your arguments you mentioned some errors of the speaker remember he's not a trained scientist nor he's teaching science. He's a theologian showing the importance of beliefs when we do science. Even though scientists can make errors.
In refutation of your arguments I would like to say you said bigBANG is an idea explaining the observable universe which is incorrect. bigBANG is the idea of how the universe began or came into being. But it is not a fact it's just a theorem to prove they discovered CMB thus claiming for proof of bigBANG which is not reality when you can't even see beyond CMB. For example before the advent of the bigBANG theorem people believed in another theorem called the "onion theory" ask your professor about it. So science can change at any time but not factual truth. Recent discoveries made by JWST are shocking for the scientific community It challenges the understanding of bigBANG.
Here is a link watch it.
      ruclips.net/video/SgSITin3obc/видео.htmlsi=ZmjRcTTomN7JqZzo
People want to see God in their own eyes in order to believe in God now the same question applies can you show us bigBANG happening? You will say oh no it happened billions of years ago back then we didn't have cameras to record it how can I show you such an event but we have captured heat signatures called CMB it proves bigBANG which is an assumption.
For us the universe has a beginning and will end in the future it is not necessary how it began because it has nothing to do with theology unlike the atheistic secular world view denying the existence of God. The universe created in bigBANG or any other means that is irrelevant

@@TheMrZek Yes we as scientists make mistakes which is why we admit our errors and correct ourselves unlike religious people who simply want to believe as they wish in face of evidence against them. Because we as scientists actually correct our mistakes we are actually rethinking about the Big Bang theory in terms of what can be concluded about the universe beyond what is observable. Actually what I said was the Big Bang theory is an idea explaining the current state of the observable universe and no it an explanation of how the universe began because you obviously did not read what I said. How can you make any claim about the universe as a whole if you are limited in your observability of it? Not only that but when you look at the derivations our understanding of time breaks down the further you push towards the singularity.
Can you define what a theory is since you claim it is not a fact?
And yes you are correct about what you say when it comes to the CMB which goes back to what I said about how light takes time to reach us over longer distances.
But you are incorrect when you say we as scientists claim the Big Bang happened billions of years ago instead what we actually say is the Big Bang theory is an explanation of how the observable universe started it’s expansion which is still happening now. The Big Bang did not happen already, it is still happening because the expansion of the universe never stopped. As a matter of fact the expansion is accelerating.

@@TheMrZek Yes we as scientists make errors which is why I called out the theologian’s errors as I had the same conclusions he did and my professors corrected me. It seems like you are not listening either because if you read what I said in my previous comment I stated that the Big Bang theory is not an idea about how the universe began but rather about how the observable universe came to be in it’s current state specifically in terms of expansion. Saying the Big Bang is the beginning of the universe is incorrect because how can you make such a claim about the universe beginning when you are limited in your observability of it? You literally said it yourself we are limited in what we can observe beyond the CMB which is light so how can you make such bold claims about the universe? Your interpretation of the Big Bang theory explaining the beginning of the universe are out of date. Not only that but our understanding of how time as a dimension behaves at that scale is being questioned.

The Quran Is a literary masterpiece, no one in 1400 years brought up a better book.
The Quran does not have a single contradiction or mistake, if you don't believe It bring me an something.

It doesn't work like that. In semitic culture, each word represents a caracteristic of the object or a beeing, written in its morphology. Example, Cat is not the animal but what it does, but you have to know first its origin, etymology : Cat came from semitic egyptian word Qit, this dwells the meaning of Cat. It came from old egyptian empire, where cats entered in the culture of humanity, and like various symbolic object written through hyeroglyph, the Cat came as representative tool or object among others in Pharoas court. See the meaning : "to be disposed, arranged". Don't think the words were created randomly. The word God has its own meaning, and Allah too. For Allah, it's about Dedication, through the archetyp L. For the word God, its origin is doubtful, probably a PIE "ghut" from a Yamna tribe in north caucasus between 5 or 6 thousand years ago. Your thoughts are always changing, but the word engraved a reality coming from thousand years ago, caracteristic. So, for you a cat is a "furry four legged mammal", for me it's a "beeing put closed to human". Not the same reality. I'm closer to the meaning of "Cat" than you. :)

    1. False Dichotomy (Either-Or Fallacy):
The video sets up a dichotomy between belief in God and belief in an infinite, eternal universe, implying that the only two options are a universe created by God or a meaningless, eternal universe. This ignores other possibilities, such as alternative scientific explanations or other interpretations of cosmology.
Example: "If the universe began to exist, then it must have been made to exist by something that is not a physical object composed of mass energy existing in spacetime... God in other words."
This fallacy presents only two choices and ignores other potential explanations like multiverse theories or other unknown scientific models.
    2. Argument from Ignorance (Appeal to Ignorance):
The video assumes that because scientists don’t know what caused the Big Bang, it must be God. It’s the “we don’t know, therefore God” reasoning, which is a classic argument from ignorance-asserting that a lack of evidence for one explanation proves another.
Example: "If scientists accept the Big Bang as fact, why do they hold on to the assumption that the Universe should be explained without God? How does that make sense? It doesn't make any sense."
Just because science doesn’t currently have all the answers doesn’t mean the answer must be divine intervention. This is jumping to a conclusion without sufficient evidence.
    3. Straw Man Fallacy:
The video misrepresents the scientific community's position by suggesting that scientists "want to do science without God" or are biased against the idea of God. In reality, many scientists are simply looking for natural explanations, which is the core of scientific methodology. The claim that they are deliberately excluding God is a distortion.
Example: "They believed in an infinite time going back and Infinite Space because they wanted to do science without God."
This oversimplifies and distorts the motivations of scientists, setting up a weaker version of their position to knock it down.
    4. Appeal to Consequences:
The argument in the video seems to imply that because it’s undesirable or irrational to believe the universe has always existed, it must therefore be false, and a creator must exist. This is an appeal to consequences-arguing that something must be true or false based on the desirability of its implications.
Example: "If the universe is infinite in size and it has an infinite number of stars... it shouldn't be dark... But we know the universe is dark at night, so the universe can't be infinite."
This assumes that an undesirable consequence (an infinitely old or large universe causing paradoxes) must mean the conclusion (a created universe by God) is true, which doesn't logically follow.
    5. Begging the Question:
The video often assumes the conclusion it’s trying to prove: that God exists. It makes claims that rely on the assumption that the universe must have been created by God, without actually proving this. This circular reasoning assumes the answer within the question.
Example: "If the Big Bang happened then something made it happen, and that thing... is God."
This statement assumes what it's trying to prove-that the universe must have a divine creator.
    6. Appeal to Authority:
There’s an implicit appeal to the authority of figures like Edwin Hubble or scientific discoveries, not as neutral facts but as evidence that somehow supports a theological argument. While the science presented is accurate, it’s used to lend undue credibility to a religious conclusion.
Example: "There have been many other scientific confirmations. Everybody believes in the Big Bang now..."
This tries to draw authority from scientific consensus on the Big Bang to suggest it supports belief in God, which isn’t a conclusion science draws.
    7. Non Sequitur:
Some arguments in the video don’t logically follow from the premises. Just because the universe began to exist doesn’t mean it must have been created by a supernatural being. There’s a leap from cosmological facts to theological claims without a logical connection.
Example: "If the universe began to exist, it must have been made by something that is not part of the universe... Therefore, God."
This is a non sequitur because the conclusion (God exists) doesn’t logically follow from the premise (the universe began to exist).
    8. Cherry-Picking:
The video only presents evidence that seems to support the existence of God, while ignoring other interpretations or explanations of the Big Bang. It focuses on gaps in scientific understanding to push a specific agenda.
Example: "Since then there have been many other scientific confirmations... the universe began to exist."
This uses the Big Bang as proof of a creator, while ignoring scientific discussions about quantum mechanics, multiverse theory, or other natural explanations that don’t involve divine intervention.

I told you how. God is uncreated. Beyond time and space. If we say some thing is created we talk about past relative to time and space. God is one who created this time and the whole universe. Lets say if some created God then who created God is our God and then who created that God? So we continue until we reach to a God who is uncreated. God is a creator of everything. If some thing is being created is not a God.

These are great questions. But they come from the assumption that Muslims believe in a contingent God like other religions do. Islam is the only religion that doesn't believe in a contingent God. So we first have to logically determine does God exist and is he contingent? This is addressed in our Thinking Muslim Guide to Atheist's Argument. I wiss send the link below. you will also notice in that series is we are not using the Christian argument of Intelligent Design or Fine Tuning to prove God's existence, these arguments are weak and lead to the very valid counter argument you make in your opening, "Who Designed the Designer". We also address that in the playlist, but take it from video 1 first otherwise you will misunderstand what we mean by "God", that he is the necessary being that is not contingent. And there is rational proof for that which is presented. Flawed arguments based on misunderstandings about science. Again , the pinacle of blind faith bias . You should have looked for the origin of the name bigbang before making any allegations against scientists. The term “Big Bang” was coined as a somewhat mocking description by British astronomer Fred Hoyle during a 1949 radio broadcast. Hoyle, who favored a different theory (the steady-state model), used the term to describe the idea that the universe began from a singular, extremely hot and dense point before expanding. Despite the intention behind it, the name stuck.
Besides that, there are several misunderstandings in your arguments.
    1. Misrepresentation of Science: You claim that scientists resisted the Big Bang theory because they didn’t want to believe in God. The broader scientific community accepts evidence-based theories. The Big Bang was resisted initially, not because it implied a beginning (and thus possibly a creator), but because it was a radical shift from the steady-state model, which had been favored for other scientific reasons at the time.
    2. Olber’s Paradox Misinterpretation: The video mentions Olber’s Paradox to argue against an infinite universe. While it’s true that Olber’s Paradox points out that an infinite, unchanging universe would result in a bright sky at night, this has been addressed by the expanding universe model of the Big Bang, without needing to invoke the idea of God.
    3. Misleading about the Big Bang and Time: You state that “if the Big Bang happened, something must have made it happen,” which implies a misunderstanding of causality. In modern cosmology, time itself begins at the Big Bang. Asking “what came before” is somewhat meaningless because “before” implies time, and time did not exist prior to this event. Many physicists, including Hawking, argue that there was no “before” in the way we commonly understand it.
    4. Attributing the Cause to God: The jump from “something caused the universe” to “that something must be God” is a philosophical leap, not a scientific one. Even if we accept the universe had a cause, there is no evidence to suggest that this cause is conscious or has any of the attributes traditionally ascribed to God (like omniscience or omnipotence).
Your God exists only if you want it and stretch the reality for it to happen.

Where other cultural stories of creation had/have both a male and female deity to make the creation going in cycles, the Abrahamic story of creation has lost this natural mytho-logical part of the telling, having just an invisible male god in which we all simply and unnaturally have to believe in.
The very idea of a Big Bang or of any beginning of the Universe is de facto contradicted in the numerous cultural Stories of Creation themselves.
Our ancestors all over the world had/have an ETERNAL CYCLICAL PERCEPTION of both the micro- and macrocosm, constituted by a principal TRIAD process of an eternal Creation, Dissolution, and Re-Creation in the Universe. No beginning and no end at all.
When our ancestors spoke of a beginning, it was specifically about the pre-conditions of and the factual creation telling of the Milky Way galaxy and the Solar System.
Otherwhere else in the cosmos they had “Islands sailing in the Cosmic Ocean” for other galaxies.
When historic and present scholars have no clues of this several thousands of year-old specific Milky Way Mythology telling, they have no other possibilities but to take it literally for an initial creation of the entire Universe. - Which de facto is very unscientific in all accounts.
And the very same goes for educated scientists who in fact could have got the natural explanations by interpreting the ancient Creation Stories correctly.

Waiting his demonstration that the Big-bang doesn't appear in the Torah : bereshit Bara' Elohim The Skies and the Earth. It needs hight skill in semantic to understand this verse. It is said that The Skies were separated from the Earth برء . The Big-bang appears in the very beginning of the Torah, Genesis 1.1. Also, Sma' (sky= means something, and Earth too : it's not about "things" nor object, but a process. Allah ta'ala says in the Qur'an the state of Skies and Earth before the beginning, رتق. Philosopher philosophing could deny Big-Bang concept came from Genesis 1.1, in vain. Better to focus on linguistic and semantic when it's about God's words.

    The Big Bang …
“Do the disbelievers not realize that the heavens and earth were ˹once˺ one mass then We split them apart? And We created from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?” Surah 21:30

    • @Overfloater777
      @Overfloater777 Месяц назад +2

Yes, but the word رتق that Allah ﷻ used in the ayah doesn't denote a ball like what modern science allege what the big bang was at its singularity point. It can mean joined mass, but it can also mean something that is plugged. In this specific ayah, the Quranic description is intentionally a generic description to be comprehendible and fluid for its local time and audience. The meaning "plugged" works perfectly for the desert arab 1400 years ago, as for them, this literally meant: "haven't the disbelievers seen how both the sky and the earth were both plugged, the sky had no clouds in it to rain, and the earth is a barren land with no life in it, then Allah has opened both: the sky causing it to pour rain down which caused the plantations to open the earth and grow?" and then He said "and We made from [that] water [which We brought down] everything [from those plants, animals and humans] thrive - so will they not [then] believe?". But the miraculous comprehension of the Quran also has the capacity to point to (what modern science call today of the theory of the beginning of the universe) the big bang, as well as the the fact that all living organisms contain water in the cellular level, which makes the translation that you used also valid for our time of scientific discoveries and advancements. Subhan Allah.

The Quran was not written for the people 1400 years ago only, 1400 years ago they could not fathom the meaning of this Ayah, this Ayah for our generation to show the disbelievers that the Quran could not have been written by a human 1400 years ago
