It is as he says, the game mechanics and gameplay looks tight and fun af but they need to balance the matchmaking for fair matches (if they have enough players for that).
Really fun watch as always.

The close competitive games currently make my brain give the good shit.
I mean it has a career mode and a whole tutorial category for learning the game. You’re setting yourself up for failure if you go in straight for pvp
No XP for losses is just bad game design, unless of course your overriding priority is enticing p2w. Which makes it par for the course for 2K.

Anti-spin cycle: instead of going cross court, he puts the ball on the side he just hit it to, to confuse the opponent, something like that!
forehand and 2h backhand shots generate topspin on the ball, due to the rackets motion of brushing upward across the ball when you hit it, causing the ball to fly low and dip fast, which is what also allows players to hit high speed shots in the first place inside the court. a way to kill all the topspin when returning would be to slice it, which brushes the ball with the racket in the opposite direction to a forehand, causing backspin negating the topspin and being a dead ball effectively without any/much spin hence anti-spin if hit perfectly

He means hitting it to the side the opponent had hit it from, which they are closer to, instead of hitting it to the other side. Usually you want to hit it away from your opponent to keep the tempo of the point in your favor, but since there is input delay and people don’t have the best reaction times with this game, you can catch the opponent off guard by hitting it to them instead of away from them. That’s what NL means by anti-spin.

So glad NL got the game and played it, so I don't have to. Been a tennis player and fan for 3 decades, and enjoyed games going back to the NES and og Gameboy ones...and this game? Just isn't it. Looks so very very mid, that I'll probably not even keep an eye out for sales, and just hope for something better from another dev...like maybe we'll get another Hot Shots game, cuz the last 2 of them blow this away in the gameplay department

instead of making the stats pay to win they should make each race have different stats and make people pay for those instead

I know it shouldn't, but it tilts me a bit when he say "serve and volley player" . Every player needs to volley sometimes. Volleying is not exclusive to some players and is one of the best ways to finish a point.
