The beginning of a beautiful friendship. Always loved when Batman had a conflicted relationship with the police and the tone in this series takes it even further. I was not expecting what happened to firefly as well!
I like the fact Batman and Commissioner Gordon are working together on a case just like in previous incarnations. I love a good superhero and police duo and it's cute they are protecting the kids.😁👍🏻
this show was awesome. I love the use of the lower known villains instead of the same batman joker battles. I'm so glad we get a batman that's more of a detective and cares about people than the dark batman who only knows how to fight. I love that they show lots of the bruce wayne side as well. we finally get some good batman content and I can't wait for more seasons

The sad thing is that Firebug was more mentally ill than outright malevolent . Even if you thought he needed to be put down, the fact that he's killed , so that he can't reveal Bullock and Flass's involvement , rather than him being dangerous , is pretty cold - particularly when he willingly surrendered. Firebug might be one of the few villains who garners genuine sympathy from the audience.
The truth is that Firefly or Firebug had potential and it hurts that they killed him since he could have survived and in the possible season 2 he could have his flying wings and set fire to the fire station and the Gotham Bridge [referring to the Arkham saga of video games]
Considering that Tom Kenny voices Firebug and got to reprise his role as Eel O'Brian aka Plastic Man. I want to bring up that I'd love to see him voice the Joker sometime. I definitely know that he might not voice the clown prince of crime in this show but I just think it'd be cool to see him voice the guy.

Love all the tidbits and hints we're getting in the Caped Crusader. Like the fact that the photographer is Eel O'Brian, AKA Plastic Man in the comics. I wonder if they plan for him to get a bath of a certain mysterious substance in season 2? I noted they changed him from a petty thief (though many incarnations made him a slippery and competent one that could even evade Batman in some of them) to a more sleazy type photographer. Still would make for his character redemption becoming a hero. Also, I'm wondering how the Caped Crusader will handle Mr. Freeze. Will they go with the original golden age version? Or will they splice in some of the more modern features like him wanting to save his terminally ill wife?

Like Freeze will still be a normal doctor and maybe an ally to Batman, trying to help him cure someone? And then we see hints of Nora's disease until she finally falls to it. And then Freeze will try to save her and have his tragic transformation, which will cause Batman conflict since he knows Freeze was a good man.

I'm just now watching the series and I'm on episode 6, but something that I loved about episode 4 is that Gordon realizes that he's not a threat and that he's a hero, something that happens in the Batman Year One comic, only here they reimagine him in Bruce Timm's vision 😮👌
I like the batman design thats pretty much identical to the first appearance suit. Kinda wish they would have gone all the way with it and given him the purple gloves
i'm pro diversity, at the same time jim and barbara gordon don't need to be portrayed as characters who black. they were fine as characters who are white. there are enough characters who are black and non-white in gotham and in the dc universe. why not give those pre-existing characters more screenplay or create new characters with new stories? everytime they do this, 1: they belittle and devalue the characters who have been originally been created as black, white, brown, straight, queer, pan, cis, trans, nb, old, young, mid, etc. 2: they devalue and undermine the importance to continue with innovation in storytelling. also, different characters of different identities representing one mantle super hero is a different thing and totally okay to me. i.e. green lanterns, batwomen, etc.

OK, I gotta give mad props to the creators on this one, dog. Making Commissioner Gordon a Black Man in this series was the best move that they ever played. At least in this variation, he might be a bit more rugged, tough, and respected for his tough and heroic actions over here. As well as his Ghetto-esque unbiastry on his look on the world here, especially the heroic efforts of The Batman!
I sat down last night ready to watch the whole thing in one sitting and couldn't get past the 3rd episode without forcing myself. All the BATMAN parts are cool but he's only like 20% seen in his own show. The whole thing about Batman going thru therapy was definitely something that BAtMAN fans didn't want. Didn't even amount to anything.
