I am so blessed that the Deviser company reached out to me and asked if I would unbox and play their ACACIA Koa Concert Uke (in the video I said Tenor as I misunderstood!)*** I was just informed that it is ACACIA KOA although on the video I wrote "KOA" and said "KOA" as that is what I was told. I have since been advised differently so hopefully the "KOA" experts will understand. THANKS!!
I really liked this one very much. The sound and the look are so wonderful that I honestly found no fault in this instrument. They asked if I would put a link to Amazon and since they were so kind to send this to me I absolutely said YES. The link is below. I am NOT an Amazon affiliate and I do not get any money if you use the link. I'm just sharing a really nice product.

I found this uke browsing on Amazon and found your review after some additional Googling. Your sample is so beautiful. It sounded fantastic on your video. Pulling the trigger and getting one for myself. Thanks for the review.

Oh I love an unboxing video. How exciting! I don't believe that this is Koa. I know Deviser say it is but I think it is Acacia. Koa only comes from Hawaii. Unless Deviser are an Hawaiian company, then it's definitely Acacia. If it was Koa, it would be a heck of a lot more expensive too. Nevertheless, lovely looking Uke.

Wendy Young yeah it honesty looks like Koa but I’m no expert but what ever it is i really like the look and the sound. Makes you want to play it!!

@@MariaCalfaDePaul I have just noticed that the description has changed on the link you provided. In the detailed description it says that the wood is indeed Acacia. The difference being that Koa is Acacia, however, Acacia is not necessarily Koa. Koa is a species of Acacia (Acacia being the "mother species" of several sub species). Koa being called Koa and is only grown in the island's of Hawaii. The very same species elsewhere have other names, like Australia (Australian Blackwood).

Wendy Young Well hopefully people understand that I was told it was Koa and the description said Cohen when I got it so nothing I could do about the video as I put a lot of work into it and I’m surely not gonna do it over but thanks for your good educational insight

@@wylancslass I also changed what I could change which is the title on RUclips and the description. All else is imbedded in a video that took me a total of 10 hours to complete. SO that part is unable to be changed. I don't get paid to do this but I get to keep the uke. with the time it takes to do the videos I could buy a bunch of them. HOWEVER, I do enjoy doing it and it's fun getting new instruments in the mail! :) thanks again for you knowledge! and for watching my videos!

@@MariaCalfaDePaul Hun I am not criticizing you in any way shape or form. I am sorry if my comment came across that way. It wasn't intended. I've actually learned a lot from Baz at Got A Ukulele. That's why I was so sure it wasn't Koa as in Koa from Hawaii. He talks about that on occasions. I know how much work goes into making videos believe it or not. I used to create videos a lot.

Even some excellent ukuleles that sound superb IRL don't sound that great through my computer speakers. But this one does! It really is very lovely :).

For whatever reason this company do not supply to the UK so we cannot take advantage of what seem to be very low priced but good quality Ukuleles. Bit of a shame really.

Nice case. Never heard of this brand, but turns out they have been at Namm for the last 10 years. Looked them up on the amazon link. Concert is only $100, tenor $110. And they offer a 30 day money back guarantee - very nice. and yes - koa top, back and sides. Top is Solid Koa - kind of amazing for this price. Aquila strings. Thx for the review Maria. And especially for mentioning intonation, which I think is really important and not always mentioned in reviews. There are side dots (in Amazon pics anyway) - also important. How is the action? Edit - while the description on amazon says it is a solid top, reviewers on amazon have disagreed (and it is unlikley to find solid koa at this price, so that may be an incorrect description). What do you think Maria - solid or laminate?

theadi339 thanks so much. I also noticed there is a 25 percent discount on Amazon. Don’t know how long that will be for. And yes the action is very good. I find it very easy to play and i have hand problems so that is saying a lot.
I am glad you enjoyed the video too!!

It is solid top but not true Koa. It is acacia wood.
