For those of you creating a batch file and are saying it's not working, you can use this text instead and see if it works for you as well. It works for be with either one but use whichever is best for you. Just copy and past this: taskkill /IM ddv.exe /T /F Another important thing to note: Your shop MUST be fully upgraded in order to be able to refresh. Shops that are not fully upgraded will not refresh at all. If you still have a Scrooge construction sign outside your shop, your shop is NOT fully upgraded. Get that done asap before saying this doesn't work. Happy Hunting!!
Hello, I’m VERY new to the refresh concept…. So what exactly are you supposed to do after you create the batch file? It’s a little unclear… do i just double click on it and the game shuts? (I’m on PC btw)

Update for PS4 users: Scrooge Shop refresh works exactly as she said for PS5 users. The PS4 one doesn't work anymore. Follow her advice and you will get the result you are working for. I'm doing multiple refreshes without any issues anymore. Important notes: It doesn't matter if the game autosaves at the start. What really matters is the moment when you enter the shop and the 5 minutes period until the next one. Ignore quests/characters! Literally everything. Your main focus is Scrooge. Go inside. Check your stuff. DON'T BUY ANYTHING. DON'T AUTOSAVE MANUALLY. DON'T CLOUDSAVE. Press Power Button while you are inside the shop and the console will shut down some seconds later. Restart the game and repeat the process until you are satisfied. Best luck finding the items you are looking for.
I have accidentally purchased something in Scrooge's then immediately shut it down on my Steam Deck, and it still refreshed. Glad you made this video so more people can join in on the fun! 😊
I thought for whatever reason i could make advantage of this.. bought... it did refresh.. bought.. refresh.. yeah nothing i bought actually saved. Lol just so everyone else can know too.

You gave me this advice for PS5 as well on Star's stream, the only caveat I would give for using this method is that you can run a risk of damaging or resetting your system hardware if you do this too often in a row. The console really hates when it is shut down incorrectly and will rebuild your database each time, enough times of doing this and it might just reset your whole system. This did actually happen to me last year, but It was due to a power failure and my battery backup was not functioning. I am personally too scared to attempt this being my husband would KILL me if I destroyed his Valentines gift to try to get items in DDV. If anyone with more knowledge about the risks involved with this can give me some peace of mind, then I would be very grateful.
There are definitely risks with gaming consoles such as PlayStation and Xbox but the Switch has a force shut down specifically implemented that will not harm it. The force shut down from Nintendo was an intentional feature that they would not have put if it harms the console. But yes, I do agree it could potentially harm over time a Playstation or Xbox so do proceed with caution and maybe only do it one in a while if you prefer. ;-) Thanks for stopping by!
@@JadeMistGaming Yea, I have only done it a couple of times myself when I had 0 new items in the shop, thankfully the patch notes for the upcoming update indicate we might be seeing less duplicates in the shop so fingers crossed it will feel less like a necessity in the future!.

Some Feedback from a new DDLV Player on PS4: I have tried this method everyday for the last 3 days and it did not work me at all. However, today it finally worked. I was able to refresh for 3 times successfully until I was stuck to a certain set. Seems like I was simply too slow in the end. Important: You barely have time to look around. Go straight up upstairs, take a quick look at the items and shut down the game immediately! Do not run to the other side! I think, it just costs too much time. Idk. I did that for the last attempt and I couldn't refresh anymore. I will keep on trying and testing around, though. Will come back later. 🤗 Thank you so much for providing this information.
@@100millioneuros People told me, it still works for them on PS5. They do daily refreshes. It doesn't work for me on PS4 anymore since the Rift of Time update.
I'm on ps4 and i tried to do the reset as soon as i heard of it and found that no way of closing the game through pressing the ps button or going into the menus to close the game or turn off/restart the ps4 would work for me. So i was convinced that it was just a pc hack/exploit until i found the power button trick. Holding down the power button after i've checked the store has worked for me 100% of the time with 0 issues. If only you could ensure what you get on refreshing cos first thing i went for was the fountain tile and my god i refreshed Scrooges for hours till i finally got it. So while some may find certain ways dont work there will be some way of making it work for your system. Thank you for spreading the valuable info.
@@JadeMistGaming Thankfully the update is tomorrow, cos having finished the game 100% - everything, even every dreamlight duty in every section, even got my platinum trophy - i've found that i'm now spending longer refreshing Scrooge's looking for items than i am actually playing the game lol.
@@tewijeon I found that to get it to refresh for me I run into Scrooge's first thing & if there's nothing I'm wanting I hold down the ps4's power button and it powers down the ps4. Then switch it back on and reload ddv, Scrooge's will be reset and you can either buy or reset again if there's nothing.

I literally bought a steam deck so I could refresh. However, the game works so much better on it than my switch so I’m keeping the steam deck. Thanks for the video!
@beccamillae9602 It has worked for me for the past two days. I followed her video exactly. I make sure that I check as soon as I log in. The game auto refreshes every 4-5 minutes. If I don't see something I want, I hit the home button while I am still inside the shop. Then hold the power button until the screen goes completely blank. This takes at least 6-8 seconds and shuts down the console completely. Restart and repeat those steps until you see something you want. Happy hunting!
Thank you so much for this! The bat file for PC works perfectly. I will say for anyone who is just going to the outside of your shop and seeing the same outfits in the window go inside. I thought it hadn't worked at first because the outfits in the windows hadn't changed. But it did! I got the hedge maze I've been waiting ages for.
This is so helpful! I wanted to add in my own experience that if you do want to do any daily’s before resetting (claim your chests for the day, buy from Kristoff, gather resources) I have been successful in doing them all at the beginning of opening the game and then going in and manually saving once I’m done and then still being able to go into Scrooges and start my resetting (this is all on the Xbox series S that I’ve tested this on, not sure about the others). I also wanted to say I’ve been successful with the game not auto saving after I’ve bought something in Scrooges and then last minute changing my mind that I wanna keep going with resetting, and I’ve checked the time on the last save after purchasing and it does not auto save it after I buy so I’ve been able to force close again and when I go back in the shop has reset. Again, this is what I’ve seen just on Xbox series S!

it unfortunately doesn’t work for me anymore after the update :( apparently they changed the auto save time to one minute. i tried to be as fast as possible but no luck.
Also another thing that doesn't save the game for me is if you buy something from Scrooge let's say a wallpaper and then run to my house to try it, if I reset it, it will still have new items in the shop (PC and xbox)
I have tried this 2 days in a row on switch. Following all the specific instructions.... it has not worked on switch now even with 3 resets in the first minute. .....
I'm sorry to hear it's not working for you. The switch seems to be pretty temperamental. The only thing I can recommend is that you just keep trying. Make sure your game is completely open and not minimized, hold that power button down fully and wait for that pop up to fully disappear.
I’m a switch user and this didn’t work for me , but does this work if you have bought something from Scrooge then refreshed afterwards , and that’s what I did and it won’t refresh the items but I’ve seen that people have done this too and it’s refreshed for them
Generally no, it doesn't work once you've already bought something. The auto save usually triggers once you've bought an item but others have closed it super fast after buying and it has worked. It's better to not have bought anything before resetting.
I have the switch. I have tried this so many times and it doesn’t work for me. Does anyone know if the game saves automatically when you go into the store and how to turn that off? Once I start my game, I go into the store right away. Is that the problem?
No, the game does not save automatically when you enter the store. Various switch users confirm it still works for them. Be sure you hold down the button all the way past that shut down menu. Also, be sure your scrooge shop is fully upgraded and you haven't voted on dreamsnaps or bought any premium shop items before trying to reset.
I have confirmed 100% with switch players this method does work. Is your scrooge shop fully upgraded? Be sure to not vote on dreamsnaps or buy anything from the premium shop before attempting to reset and do it within the first few mins of opening the game. 5 mins is the cut off but better before the 5.
Sorry to say this does not work on the switch. I did exactly what you said to do. I moved my house right in front of Scrooge’s store came out of my house, went into the store. touched the store door you can see on the bottom that it’s saving you got the little thing spinning went in everything I’ve already had held down the button, like you said, waited for that other screen to go away, logged back on went back in the same items so I thought at this point I’m gonna check and it said saved 56 seconds ago, so it doesn’t work on the switch
I'm sorry to hear it's not working for you. I can confirm though 100% that many switch users are able to do it and confirmed during various live streams with me it was working for them perfectly. Sadly, it can be unpredictable it seems. Best advice I can give is to keep trying. I too always get the spinning wheel when entering the shop even on PC. That doesn't mean anything even though it looks like it's saving. It's just the loading animation. Best of luck!!

Does this still work for anyone? I can't refresh my store on Xbox or switch :( is this because I use the cloudsave? When I restart all picked berry's are back so I know it must have worked but the shop is still the same

Sorry you weren't able to get it work. Be sure your shop is fully upgraded, you haven't voted on dreamsnaps and you do it first thing before anything else. Hold down that button fully until it completely turns off. I have already confirmed with various switch users again it is 100% still working for them. Best of luck!
Does it just not work for some switches? I have tried in the past and again just now I followed exactly along with your video and the shop has the same items when I go back in. I am in the game less than a minute, I am holding down the power button until the entire switch shuts all the way off. I know I am doing it all right but the shop items stay the same. 😢
@@JadeMistGaming I've been reading through the latest comments and I think you may be on to something with it not working on the switch with a NOT fully upgraded shop. I am still so far behind in the game my shop is not upgraded. I will work on getting it upgraded and let you know if it works once that has happened.
This definitely no longer works after the last update. Did everything, and it seems the game saves moment you enter the valley now 😢 also after I bought some things, used the bat file and it did not reset the store back to how it was before I bought things, even tho I closed it before I saved. Seems like the game saves automatically again when you try and force the close down with the file… really sucks 😢 wish I found this earlier.
It still definitely works after the update. I have been doing it just fine. Be sure you look at the pinned comment for the updated correct batch file info.

@@NerdyPanda-td1tz Definitely try again tomorrow. The game 100% does not save as soon as you start. That will never change. Make sure you don't buy anything from the premium shop and don't vote on dreamsnaps before refreshing. That will cause an instant auto save. Good luck!
Odd, when i logged on this morning it said "saved 1 min 45 seconds ago" which is why i was thinking they changed it lol does it count if i voted on dreamsnaps days prior? @@JadeMistGaming
@@NerdyPanda-td1tz No, only for the current day. Prior days are okay. I never pay attention to the menu on when it says it saves. It may say it has saved but it 100% hasn't auto saved instantly. I promise. Try it again tomorrow. :) I do it almost daily and I'm on PC.
What about when I play with the game connected to my big tv set and use the hand controllers in a hand controller instead of attached to switch? Is there a button to push similar to that one you showed us? Thx for taking the time to help all of us.
Do you know if this changed with the update? I got it to work on my ps4 before (thank you btw, I got the waterfall I’d been waiting for) and since the update it hasn’t worked for me.
I'm having an issue where I use the .bat and it isn't resetting my store, and tips or advice that may help. (my store is fully upgraded) I'm pretty much doing, boot up game > walk into store > alt-tab > then double clicking the .bat file.
QUESTION!! How far into your day can you do this? Do you have to do this first thing when you get on for the day? Or can you do it at any point in the day? I want Woody’s hat and boots! 😢
I've had various others with the Oled confirm they were able to 100%. Have you upgraded your shop to the highest level? I suggest continue trying. Some others have said it began working after a few days of trying as well.

When you say items is this only furniture because I’ve seen a few videos where they buy out all the clothing and yet the reset still works. The clothing has just all been bought.
It's all items. When you see gold coins on the platforms on the left in some, it just means that section has been bought out already in the past an there is nothing else to spawn at the moment. The minute you buy anything at all in shop or premium shop, the reset won't work.
I'm a windows player user. The command made my game shut down, but for some reason it did not refreshed by game. I don't know why. I went into the game straight to the store, and then I used the command, restart my game, but the items were still the same. Any idea what that could be?
Hi there. You'll see an updated pinned message showing an extra text to put into your batch file that will help you. Add /T /F to the entire text at the end and that should work. ;-) So it should read as follows: taskkill /IM ddv.exe /T /F Sorry about that! Happy Hunting!
i’ve bought something in the shop multiple times and then reset and it worked, that’s weird. but when i reset my shop today it didn’t work cause my windows computer updated so that’s why i’m at this video today
Are you using the batch file or going to the resource monitor? It still works for me but just be sure you don't buy anything before resetting. Also be sure to use the batch file text in the pinned comment. ;-)

That's what is called "Time travelling" and is highly advised not to do. That can break your game. You can't go back to the previous day and play the game like normal if you time travel. Resources won't drop and wild crops won't be harvestable. Only way to fix it is to let the game catch up in real life to whatever time you time travelled to. Again, highly recommend you do NOT time travel in DDV.
I have forced my switch on my main account that bought the game and it doesn’t work however if I do the same on a second account then the refresh works - I have no idea why this is happening

When you say “then do it” what do you mean? I walk into the Scrooge store, hold down the power button on switch until the menu pops up, then closes automatically. Then what do I do? Open the menu again and power off? Or do I exit with the home button and force quit the app? Thanks so much btw
What I meant by "then do it" is let go of the power button. Hold down the power button until that entire menu of options disappears. Do not let go to choose any of those options. Just let the switch completely turn off by itself while you hold down the power button. 😁 How that helps!

@@breanas_mommyit actually started working for me but only if the game was turned off right before Scrooge store resets, then I’d open the game, enter Scrooge shop, hold down to power off and open the game and re enter. Sometimes it wouldn’t work the second try, but it would on the third. But I haven’t had it working for a few months now. I thought one of the newer updates nerfed it for everyone but maybe it still works for some ppl

i’ve been trying to do this on my Xbox S and it’s not working. i am pressing the xbox home button , clicking on it and quiting the application then just jumping back in but my shop doesn’t change. i’ve tried it multiple times , please tips 🙏🏻
Be sure you haven't already shopped for the day. It should be done first thing before playing the game. Also, be sure you haven't bought from the premium shop yet or voted on dreamsnaps as that will trigger auto saves. If you are starting at Eternity Isle and traveling back to the valley then resetting, it won't work either. You'll have to upgrade the shop in Eternity Isle. Also, the shop needs to be fully upgraded in order to work. Best of luck!
I’m on Switch. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. I’m trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong. I try to every evening before ending my play time on the game to save my game to my console and cloud, and also do a back up to the cloud then I close the game like normal with the menu. The next morning when I get up sometimes it wants me to verify the backup. Sometimes it does not. I think this is where I may be messing up. But I can’t really figure out which way it is.
If you're playing on different devices, it's going to always ask you which back up you want to play from. If you've already played on one console and then try to do the reset on a different console, it won't work.
I launched the game, went to the store, bought some stuff, and refreshed it - I lost the items i bought, the store was completely full after refresh, which was a massive bummer. I went in again, bought some stuff, and refreshed. Lost the items, full store. So you can't buy something then refresh the remaining items? I also somehow lost 900 moonstones in this process - I hadn't even looked at the premium shop but when I logged out yesterday I had 900 more than I do today. 😭
You cannot buy items and refresh. The reset is only to refresh the shop until you find something you want. Then you buy and wait until the next day to refresh again. Moonstones are not affected in this process.
I definitely bought items, I just didn't get to keep them. I'm not sure what the moonstone glitch is about - maybe a cloud save mismatch.@@JadeMistGaming
I did this on pc but it doesnt work for me.. i dont know What im doing wrong😅 tried the new batch file but still dosent work. Is there some setting i should change? Bc everytime i shut it down it still says saved
has this been patched out? my girlfriend and i are both playing on the switch. we exactly followed your instructions (no playing on this day before we try it, quickly rush inside, don't buy anything, shut down the console by force via holding down the powerbuttom, if it's another day for scrooge to offer just crap), damn it, we even turned off the internet. but the result is always the same: it doesn't work. the storage only changes once per day, and so do the clothes in the shopping window on the outside. have we missed any important detail or is this little trick no longer possible? i just want this freaking awesome wreck it ralph-pompadour-hairstyle 😭😅
Sorry you're having trouble. Do you have your shop fully upgraded already or do you still see a scrooge sign outside asking you to continue construction? It does need to be fully upgraded. It can be a bit temperamental sometimes on switch but it's definitely still working. You also can't fast travel between different worlds like Eternity Isle and Storybook vale while trying to refresh. @JadeMistGaming we have fully upgraded the store, that was one of the first things we did when we started playing 🤔 it still doesn't work - very, very strange... but i will keep in mind the fast-travel-tip and give it a try. and thanks a lot for your quick answer, although this video is already over a year old 😊👍
Yes. If you start playing at 2am, which is the start of the time cycle, and refresh until you find something, you can't refresh again until the next 2am mark the next day.
i have tried this for switch, I fell victim to TT in the game and have been stuck on the same day for lord knows how long, not sure how to check internal timer to match time since going days ahead doesnt exactly fix it. I am aware the devs are not going to fix this and i’d hate to lose so much time in the game and make a new one risking losing all of the things ive gotten, however if that is the case I know purchases made will still be accessible. If there is a trick on how to see the internal timer i will absolutely do whatever to try before end result, starting a new game.

The refresh is a daily thing. If you bought something 5 days ago and start today, you can still do the refresh for the day. What you understand is correct. :) Best of luck!!
Fast traveling between the Isle and Valley seems to trigger the auto save and doesn't let you refresh. You'll have to open up the shop on Eternity Isle or make sure you log off in the valley so you know you'll start back up there for refreshing.
Something is missing in the batch file It should be taskkill /f /im ddv.exe Without the /f it closes the application, it doesn't force close it, so the game still has time to save Another thing is that the store is generated when you enter it, so you can play your game normally before you enter the store for the first time. I like to save before I go in, after completing some regular tasks here and there!

No, you don't need to be in the shop for it to work. It does, however, have to be the first thing you do in the game before the auto save triggers. Your shop should be fully upgraded and no previous purchases for the day should have been done. Hope it works!
You can press Alt+Tab on your keyboard to get out of that screen and move to another or you can press Alt+Enter to go into a windowed mode when you're ready to go to desktop.
xbox one player here with just two weird things; i’ve bought items before, had my console crash while still in the store and when i booted it back up nothing had saved and the store reset. i also save right before entering the store sometimes if i’ve gotten kristoff’s stall stuff or whatever else and don’t want to pick it up again and the reset method still works. but then sometimes (unrelated to saving outside afaik) the reset just won’t work even without the autosave symbol? maybe i need to keep trying idk. anyway that’s just what’s happened to me before, maybe the xbox one is different or i’m just an anomaly lol
A few people have just started telling me the same thing about the store refreshing for them still even after buying an item on xbox. Very weird. I still wouldn't risk it just in case. Definitely keep trying. :D

@@Hwatty1989 That's correct. You can not have already bought something. It has to be the very first thing you do in your game for the day. No buying from premium shop, no dreamsnap voting, and no buying from scrooge first.

Definitely not fixed. I did it just this morning. Be sure to check the pinned comment for the updated batch file text you need. Also, be are your shop is fully upgraded and if you're starting in eternity isle trying to go to the valley, it won't work. Best of luck!
Is this supposed to refresh the items? Bc I did it and nothing changed in shop my shop hasn’t had anything on the bottom two platforms for two weeks now and I feel it’s kinda soon after an update to have this problem🤷♀️
If nothing has refreshed in both of platforms for two weeks, that sounds like a result of time traveling. Have you changed the date on your device at any time to skip days? What platform are you using?

For those of you creating a batch file and are saying it's not working, you can use this text instead and see if it works for you as well. It works for be with either one but use whichever is best for you. Just copy and past this: taskkill /IM ddv.exe /T /F
Another important thing to note: Your shop MUST be fully upgraded in order to be able to refresh. Shops that are not fully upgraded will not refresh at all. If you still have a Scrooge construction sign outside your shop, your shop is NOT fully upgraded. Get that done asap before saying this doesn't work.

Hello, I’m VERY new to the refresh concept…. So what exactly are you supposed to do after you create the batch file? It’s a little unclear… do i just double click on it and the game shuts? (I’m on PC btw)

Update for PS4 users:
Scrooge Shop refresh works exactly as she said for PS5 users. The PS4 one doesn't work anymore. Follow her advice and you will get the result you are working for. I'm doing multiple refreshes without any issues anymore.
Important notes: It doesn't matter if the game autosaves at the start. What really matters is the moment when you enter the shop and the 5 minutes period until the next one. Ignore quests/characters! Literally everything. Your main focus is Scrooge.
Go inside.
Check your stuff.
DON'T BUY ANYTHING.
DON'T AUTOSAVE MANUALLY.
DON'T CLOUDSAVE.
Press Power Button while you are inside the shop and the console will shut down some seconds later.
Restart the game and repeat the process until you are satisfied.
Best luck finding the items you are looking for.

You gave me this advice for PS5 as well on Star's stream, the only caveat I would give for using this method is that you can run a risk of damaging or resetting your system hardware if you do this too often in a row. The console really hates when it is shut down incorrectly and will rebuild your database each time, enough times of doing this and it might just reset your whole system. This did actually happen to me last year, but It was due to a power failure and my battery backup was not functioning. I am personally too scared to attempt this being my husband would KILL me if I destroyed his Valentines gift to try to get items in DDV. If anyone with more knowledge about the risks involved with this can give me some peace of mind, then I would be very grateful.
Yeah now that I think about it it's not worth brakeing a consoul for dreamlight valley new items
There are definitely risks with gaming consoles such as PlayStation and Xbox but the Switch has a force shut down specifically implemented that will not harm it. The force shut down from Nintendo was an intentional feature that they would not have put if it harms the console. But yes, I do agree it could potentially harm over time a Playstation or Xbox so do proceed with caution and maybe only do it one in a while if you prefer. ;-) Thanks for stopping by!
@@JadeMistGaming Yea, I have only done it a couple of times myself when I had 0 new items in the shop, thankfully the patch notes for the upcoming update indicate we might be seeing less duplicates in the shop so fingers crossed it will feel less like a necessity in the future!.

Some Feedback from a new DDLV Player on PS4:
I have tried this method everyday for the last 3 days and it did not work me at all. However, today it finally worked. I was able to refresh for 3 times successfully until I was stuck to a certain set.
Seems like I was simply too slow in the end.
Important: You barely have time to look around. Go straight up upstairs, take a quick look at the items and shut down the game immediately! Do not run to the other side! I think, it just costs too much time. Idk. I did that for the last attempt and I couldn't refresh anymore.
I will keep on trying and testing around, though. Will come back later. 🤗

It doesn't work for me on PS4 anymore since the Rift of Time update.
I'm on ps4 and i tried to do the reset as soon as i heard of it and found that no way of closing the game through pressing the ps button or going into the menus to close the game or turn off/restart the ps4 would work for me. So i was convinced that it was just a pc hack/exploit until i found the power button trick. Holding down the power button after i've checked the store has worked for me 100% of the time with 0 issues. If only you could ensure what you get on refreshing cos first thing i went for was the fountain tile and my god i refreshed Scrooges for hours till i finally got it. So while some may find certain ways dont work there will be some way of making it work for your system. Thank you for spreading the valuable info.

@@JadeMistGaming Thankfully the update is tomorrow, cos having finished the game 100% - everything, even every dreamlight duty in every section, even got my platinum trophy - i've found that i'm now spending longer refreshing Scrooge's looking for items than i am actually playing the game lol.
May I ask how did you do it? I’ve tried via video explanation but it didn’t work for me I’m on ps4 as well
@@tewijeon I found that to get it to refresh for me I run into Scrooge's first thing & if there's nothing I'm wanting I hold down the ps4's power button and it powers down the ps4. Then switch it back on and reload ddv, Scrooge's will be reset and you can either buy or reset again if there's nothing.

@beccamillae9602 It has worked for me for the past two days. I followed her video exactly. I make sure that I check as soon as I log in. The game auto refreshes every 4-5 minutes. If I don't see something I want, I hit the home button while I am still inside the shop. Then hold the power button until the screen goes completely blank. This takes at least 6-8 seconds and shuts down the console completely. Restart and repeat those steps until you see something you want. Happy hunting!
I do this on the Switch all the time. Works great. Just do it just like Jade said and it will work.

I thought it hadn't worked at first because the outfits in the windows hadn't changed. But it did! I got the hedge maze I've been waiting ages for.

This is so helpful! I wanted to add in my own experience that if you do want to do any daily’s before resetting (claim your chests for the day, buy from Kristoff, gather resources) I have been successful in doing them all at the beginning of opening the game and then going in and manually saving once I’m done and then still being able to go into Scrooges and start my resetting (this is all on the Xbox series S that I’ve tested this on, not sure about the others). I also wanted to say I’ve been successful with the game not auto saving after I’ve bought something in Scrooges and then last minute changing my mind that I wanna keep going with resetting, and I’ve checked the time on the last save after purchasing and it does not auto save it after I buy so I’ve been able to force close again and when I go back in the shop has reset. Again, this is what I’ve seen just on Xbox series S!
I've reset immediately after purchasing something by accident in Scrooge's on my Steam Deck, and it worked, too.
Thanks to you I was able to find the window to paris, the stained glassed beauty and the beast window and so many hair styles! Everyday in this game is so exciting now I can reset 🥰

Just tested it out and it still works perfectly fine for me. Nothing changed with the auto save.

Also another thing that doesn't save the game for me is if you buy something from Scrooge let's say a wallpaper and then run to my house to try it, if I reset it, it will still have new items in the shop (PC and xbox)

I have tried this 2 days in a row on switch. Following all the specific instructions.... it has not worked on switch now even with 3 resets in the first minute. .....
I'm sorry to hear it's not working for you. The switch seems to be pretty temperamental. The only thing I can recommend is that you just keep trying. Make sure your game is completely open and not minimized, hold that power button down fully and wait for that pop up to fully disappear.
I’m a switch user and this didn’t work for me , but does this work if you have bought something from Scrooge then refreshed afterwards , and that’s what I did and it won’t refresh the items but I’ve seen that people have done this too and it’s refreshed for them
Generally no, it doesn't work once you've already bought something. The auto save usually triggers once you've bought an item but others have closed it super fast after buying and it has worked. It's better to not have bought anything before resetting.
I have the switch. I have tried this so many times and it doesn’t work for me. Does anyone know if the game saves automatically when you go into the store and how to turn that off? Once I start my game, I go into the store right away. Is that the problem?
No, the game does not save automatically when you enter the store. Various switch users confirm it still works for them. Be sure you hold down the button all the way past that shut down menu. Also, be sure your scrooge shop is fully upgraded and you haven't voted on dreamsnaps or bought any premium shop items before trying to reset.
I have a switch and I did this and my store was still the same and yes I still held the button past the menu. Method doesn’t work!
I have confirmed 100% with switch players this method does work. Is your scrooge shop fully upgraded? Be sure to not vote on dreamsnaps or buy anything from the premium shop before attempting to reset and do it within the first few mins of opening the game. 5 mins is the cut off but better before the 5.
Sorry to say this does not work on the switch. I did exactly what you said to do. I moved my house right in front of Scrooge’s store came out of my house, went into the store. touched the store door you can see on the bottom that it’s saving you got the little thing spinning went in everything I’ve already had held down the button, like you said, waited for that other screen to go away, logged back on went back in the same items so I thought at this point I’m gonna check and it said saved 56 seconds ago, so it doesn’t work on the switch
I'm sorry to hear it's not working for you. I can confirm though 100% that many switch users are able to do it and confirmed during various live streams with me it was working for them perfectly. Sadly, it can be unpredictable it seems. Best advice I can give is to keep trying.
I too always get the spinning wheel when entering the shop even on PC. That doesn't mean anything even though it looks like it's saving. It's just the loading animation. Best of luck!!

Does this still work for anyone? I can't refresh my store on Xbox or switch :( is this because I use the cloudsave? When I restart all picked berry's are back so I know it must have worked but the shop is still the same
Yes, it still works. It could be the cloudsave. If you've played on switch already for the day it won't work on Xbox and vice versa.

Sorry you weren't able to get it work. Be sure your shop is fully upgraded, you haven't voted on dreamsnaps and you do it first thing before anything else. Hold down that button fully until it completely turns off. I have already confirmed with various switch users again it is 100% still working for them. Best of luck!
Does it just not work for some switches? I have tried in the past and again just now I followed exactly along with your video and the shop has the same items when I go back in. I am in the game less than a minute, I am holding down the power button until the entire switch shuts all the way off. I know I am doing it all right but the shop items stay the same. 😢

@@JadeMistGaming I've been reading through the latest comments and I think you may be on to something with it not working on the switch with a NOT fully upgraded shop. I am still so far behind in the game my shop is not upgraded. I will work on getting it upgraded and let you know if it works once that has happened.

This definitely no longer works after the last update. Did everything, and it seems the game saves moment you enter the valley now 😢 also after I bought some things, used the bat file and it did not reset the store back to how it was before I bought things, even tho I closed it before I saved. Seems like the game saves automatically again when you try and force the close down with the file… really sucks 😢 wish I found this earlier.

Odd, when i logged on this morning it said "saved 1 min 45 seconds ago" which is why i was thinking they changed it lol does it count if i voted on dreamsnaps days prior?

@@NerdyPanda-td1tz No, only for the current day. Prior days are okay. I never pay attention to the menu on when it says it saves. It may say it has saved but it 100% hasn't auto saved instantly. I promise. Try it again tomorrow. :) I do it almost daily and I'm on PC.
What about when I play with the game connected to my big tv set and use the hand controllers in a hand controller instead of attached to switch? Is there a button to push similar to that one you showed us? Thx for taking the time to help all of us.
You'll still need to do it with the power button directly on the switch which you can still press while it's on the dock.

Do you know if this changed with the update? I got it to work on my ps4 before (thank you btw, I got the waterfall I’d been waiting for) and since the update it hasn’t worked for me.
It has not been patched. It still works perfectly for me but I'm on PC. I haven't heard from anybody else that it stopped working.
I'm having an issue where I use the .bat and it isn't resetting my store, and tips or advice that may help. (my store is fully upgraded)
I'm pretty much doing, boot up game > walk into store > alt-tab > then double clicking the .bat file.
Be sure to use the updated batch file text in the pinned comment, not the one in the video. That should fix it up.

It has to be the first thing you do. Your game will auto save at 5 mins into the game which will in turn remove any chance in resetting.

I have the Oled switch didnt work for me at all
I've had various others with the Oled confirm they were able to 100%. Have you upgraded your shop to the highest level? I suggest continue trying. Some others have said it began working after a few days of trying as well.

When you say items is this only furniture because I’ve seen a few videos where they buy out all the clothing and yet the reset still works. The clothing has just all been bought.
It's all items. When you see gold coins on the platforms on the left in some, it just means that section has been bought out already in the past an there is nothing else to spawn at the moment. The minute you buy anything at all in shop or premium shop, the reset won't work.
I'm a windows player user. The command made my game shut down, but for some reason it did not refreshed by game. I don't know why. I went into the game straight to the store, and then I used the command, restart my game, but the items were still the same. Any idea what that could be?
Hi there. You'll see an updated pinned message showing an extra text to put into your batch file that will help you. Add /T /F to the entire text at the end and that should work. ;-) So it should read as follows: taskkill /IM ddv.exe /T /F

i’ve bought something in the shop multiple times and then reset and it worked, that’s weird. but when i reset my shop today it didn’t work cause my windows computer updated so that’s why i’m at this video today
Are you using the batch file or going to the resource monitor? It still works for me but just be sure you don't buy anything before resetting. Also be sure to use the batch file text in the pinned comment. ;-)

You can also change day and time on switch and a new store will ope. Each day
That's what is called "Time travelling" and is highly advised not to do. That can break your game. You can't go back to the previous day and play the game like normal if you time travel. Resources won't drop and wild crops won't be harvestable. Only way to fix it is to let the game catch up in real life to whatever time you time travelled to. Again, highly recommend you do NOT time travel in DDV.

ive got it to work a total of 1 time on my switch and its only if i was in the game before 3 am that i got it to work
The switch can be a bit unpredictable and frustrating sometimes. The shop refreshes at 3 am automatically. I recommend you keep trying. Good luck!
I have forced my switch on my main account that bought the game and it doesn’t work however if I do the same on a second account then the refresh works - I have no idea why this is happening

So for ps5, open the game. Go in the shop. If nothing I like, hold tje ps power button and turn it off and try again?

When you say “then do it” what do you mean? I walk into the Scrooge store, hold down the power button on switch until the menu pops up, then closes automatically. Then what do I do? Open the menu again and power off? Or do I exit with the home button and force quit the app? Thanks so much btw
What I meant by "then do it" is let go of the power button. Hold down the power button until that entire menu of options disappears. Do not let go to choose any of those options. Just let the switch completely turn off by itself while you hold down the power button. 😁 How that helps!

Sometimes it wouldn’t work the second try, but it would on the third. But I haven’t had it working for a few months now. I thought one of the newer updates nerfed it for everyone but maybe it still works for some ppl
I did this like three times it was so nice to spend my money! But for me it still refresh after I bought like two or three things
Sometimes it will still refresh if you did it fast enough after buying something but whatever you buy will not be in your inventory if you refresh.

Be sure you haven't already shopped for the day. It should be done first thing before playing the game. Also, be sure you haven't bought from the premium shop yet or voted on dreamsnaps as that will trigger auto saves. If you are starting at Eternity Isle and traveling back to the valley then resetting, it won't work either. You'll have to upgrade the shop in Eternity Isle. Also, the shop needs to be fully upgraded in order to work. Best of luck!
Actually I bought stuff from Scrooge and then reset it, it was different items (playing on pc and xbox) both times didn't save at all
I’m on Switch. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. I’m trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong. I try to every evening before ending my play time on the game to save my game to my console and cloud, and also do a back up to the cloud then I close the game like normal with the menu. The next morning when I get up sometimes it wants me to verify the backup. Sometimes it does not. I think this is where I may be messing up. But I can’t really figure out which way it is.
If you're playing on different devices, it's going to always ask you which back up you want to play from. If you've already played on one console and then try to do the reset on a different console, it won't work.
It is possible to buy everytime before shutdown? For example, i see something i like, and i want to refresh and also keep that stuff with me.
You can not keep the items if you are refreshing.
I launched the game, went to the store, bought some stuff, and refreshed it - I lost the items i bought, the store was completely full after refresh, which was a massive bummer. I went in again, bought some stuff, and refreshed. Lost the items, full store. So you can't buy something then refresh the remaining items?
I also somehow lost 900 moonstones in this process - I hadn't even looked at the premium shop but when I logged out yesterday I had 900 more than I do today. 😭
You cannot buy items and refresh. The reset is only to refresh the shop until you find something you want. Then you buy and wait until the next day to refresh again. Moonstones are not affected in this process.
I definitely bought items, I just didn't get to keep them. I'm not sure what the moonstone glitch is about - maybe a cloud save mismatch.@@JadeMistGaming

When do we execute the batch file? After going in the store and staying there, of after leaving store?
Execute it after you go into the store and see there's nothing you want. You can do it either in or out of the store. It doesn't make a difference. :D
I did this on pc but it doesnt work for me.. i dont know What im doing wrong😅 tried the new batch file but still dosent work. Is there some setting i should change? Bc everytime i shut it down it still says saved
Check the pinned comments for the updated batch file. The one I showed in the video has a typo. That should help.
has this been patched out? my girlfriend and i are both playing on the switch. we exactly followed your instructions (no playing on this day before we try it, quickly rush inside, don't buy anything, shut down the console by force via holding down the powerbuttom, if it's another day for scrooge to offer just crap), damn it, we even turned off the internet. but the result is always the same: it doesn't work. the storage only changes once per day, and so do the clothes in the shopping window on the outside.
have we missed any important detail or is this little trick no longer possible?

Sorry you're having trouble. Do you have your shop fully upgraded already or do you still see a scrooge sign outside asking you to continue construction? It does need to be fully upgraded. It can be a bit temperamental sometimes on switch but it's definitely still working. You also can't fast travel between different worlds like Eternity Isle and Storybook vale while trying to refresh. I'm generally playing when Scrooge's shop refreshes at 2am (for me). Does the 'day' count as when his shop refreshes?
Yes. If you start playing at 2am, which is the start of the time cycle, and refresh until you find something, you can't refresh again until the next 2am mark the next day.
i have tried this for switch, I fell victim to TT in the game and have been stuck on the same day for lord knows how long, not sure how to check internal timer to match time since going days ahead doesnt exactly fix it. I am aware the devs are not going to fix this and i’d hate to lose so much time in the game and make a new one risking losing all of the things ive gotten, however if that is the case I know purchases made will still be accessible.
If there is a trick on how to see the internal timer i will absolutely do whatever to try before end result, starting a new game.

Is it possible to refresh store item that I’ve already shopped some of items and game saved ? Or I need to wait for a day when the time Scrooge store auto refresh then do this action?
If you have already bought stuff from the shop for the day and your game has saved, you need to wait until the next day to try again.
Sorry but I still don’t understand ((( I bought stuff in Scrooge’s shop a couple of hours ago. can I refresh my store now? does it work? or I can’t buy anything before refresh? as far as I understand: I start my game (first during the day), come to my shop, quickly look and if nothing catches my attention, I press END THE GAME (on my steam deck) without saving and it should refresh my shop. am I right??
The refresh is a daily thing. If you bought something 5 days ago and start today, you can still do the refresh for the day. What you understand is correct. :) Best of luck!!
How does this works if the game opens in eternity isle ? I haven’t opened the shop there. If I fast travel to the plaza the refresh is not working
Fast traveling between the Isle and Valley seems to trigger the auto save and doesn't let you refresh. You'll have to open up the shop on Eternity Isle or make sure you log off in the valley so you know you'll start back up there for refreshing.
Something is missing in the batch file
It should be taskkill /f /im ddv.exe
Without the /f it closes the application, it doesn't force close it, so the game still has time to save
Another thing is that the store is generated when you enter it, so you can play your game normally before you enter the store for the first time. I like to save before I go in, after completing some regular tasks here and there!
I haven’t tried resets yet so this is a genuine question - if the store doesn’t generate until entering, what triggers the window clothing items?

No, you don't need to be in the shop for it to work. It does, however, have to be the first thing you do in the game before the auto save triggers. Your shop should be fully upgraded and no previous purchases for the day should have been done. Hope it works!
Ok. Basic question. How do you get to the batch file when DDV is running in full screen? Some kind of Steam key input?
You can press Alt+Tab on your keyboard to get out of that screen and move to another or you can press Alt+Enter to go into a windowed mode when you're ready to go to desktop.
xbox one player here with just two weird things; i’ve bought items before, had my console crash while still in the store and when i booted it back up nothing had saved and the store reset. i also save right before entering the store sometimes if i’ve gotten kristoff’s stall stuff or whatever else and don’t want to pick it up again and the reset method still works. but then sometimes (unrelated to saving outside afaik) the reset just won’t work even without the autosave symbol? maybe i need to keep trying idk. anyway that’s just what’s happened to me before, maybe the xbox one is different or i’m just an anomaly lol
A few people have just started telling me the same thing about the store refreshing for them still even after buying an item on xbox. Very weird. I still wouldn't risk it just in case. Definitely keep trying. :D
It doesn’t save the new stuff on switch when I refresh it the items I get in the show don’t show up in my collection at all so I don’t if it works

Is your shop fully upgraded? It could be temperamental sometimes on switch. Keep trying and it should work.

@@Hwatty1989 That's correct. You can not have already bought something. It has to be the very first thing you do in your game for the day. No buying from premium shop, no dreamsnap voting, and no buying from scrooge first.

I’ve been doing this on my switch successfully for a while now, just tried on my PC exactly how you mentioned and it didn’t work 😔
Be sure you check the pinned comments for the updated/correct batch file text. The one in the video is missing a couple characters.
I tried both the batch file and the resource monitor and it didn’t work. I did it within the 5 minutes and nothing. Not sure what I’m doing wrong or if I’m the recent update they fixed this.
Definitely not fixed. I did it just this morning. Be sure to check the pinned comment for the updated batch file text you need. Also, be are your shop is fully upgraded and if you're starting in eternity isle trying to go to the valley, it won't work. Best of luck!

Is this supposed to refresh the items? Bc I did it and nothing changed in shop my shop hasn’t had anything on the bottom two platforms for two weeks now and I feel it’s kinda soon after an update to have this problem🤷♀️
If nothing has refreshed in both of platforms for two weeks, that sounds like a result of time traveling. Have you changed the date on your device at any time to skip days? What platform are you using?
