It's great seeing some franchises seeing a lot of growth on the switch. I hope they continue to give some more franchises a chance to grow on the new console.
EoW selling a lot means more 2D Zelda in the future. Switch selling low means Switch 2 will come out sooner rather than later. Backwards compatibility means backwards compatibility. All stellar news.
But for a 8yr old system is the sales really that bad. I still think it's impressive especially when u compare it to ps5 sales. There practically neck and neck every quarter
Let's hope by software being able to be playable on the Switch 2 is meant that the physical games can be inserted into the system too. Can you imagine their term "software" is meant only digitally. That'd be crazy.
I get being excited for Switch 2 backwards compat...but at the sametime... it's not like Switch 1 suddenly stops working immediately when Switch 2 comes out... you can play both systems... but I get it's great if you can play it on the newer system, and if it enhances these games on top, even better
@@MedalionDS9 also people with less money can get a Switch 1, build themselves a library of games, and then migrate to Switch 2 with their games once they get more money... It's all good news
Yup, it's lock original Switch 1 to max specs. Play S1 games on S2 in lock 720p30fps/60fps handheld & 1080p30fps/60fps tv. For using full S2 power likes 4K etc Nintendo will selling it as a Definitive Edition
Sorry but no, most systems were not backwards compatible. The wii had a GameCube build into it right next to the wii, therefor it played gamecube games, and the wiiu played most wii games. Besides handhelds those were the only Nintendo consoles that were backwards compatible. And what does "backwards compatible with software" mean? Is a cartridge considered software? It's such a weird way to phrase it.
Should I buy Switch Oled before the 2024 ends or should I wait for a switch 2 that doesn't have Oled LCD yeahhh and in the mid 2025 Nintendo gonna release a switch 2 oled version lol then that first switch 2 would be part of nintendo's history

Also means you can sell your Switch 1 to finance the Switch 2, or use it as a "younger sibling"-device, and continue investing in Switch 1 software
