Honestly when I clean my tails I usually wear my bathing suit because like you said, YOU WILL GET SOAKED 😂 so I pretty much end up showering with my tails LOL

For the sloshing, it also helps to flood the fluke and empty it both ways i.e have the water drain through your drainage holes and then have the water drain down the body. Loofas are helpful and if you get a handle one then its easier to scrub down to the monofin. I find carpet dryers are the best for fast drying; otherwise make sure your fan is dusted. But glad you're enjoying your silicone, they're amazing 🙂 Can't wait to see more adventures of you in these new scales 💙

This was fab! I'm so surprised how easy it was to dry! My tail is HORRID to dry. It takes me a minimum of a WEEK to dry it (often longer), because it is silicone with a neoprene lining. I can't pull it all the way inside out so I know there must be mould in the inside of my fluke (I try my best to wipe it out). After her bath I put a pool noodle in the body so she's not flat, and have to sit with a hairdryer most evenings. The fluke is always kind of squelchy as theres water trapped in the ends. It's such a nightmare! Not to mention her seams are coming unstitched :( One day I'll afford a full silicone tail with no lining, that's the dream!
The first time I cleaned my Phoenix, the silicone fluke flopped out of my hand and splashed in her bath so I got sprayed. Then when I had to turn her over to clean the back, she flopped again so again I got splashed. Cleaning her is a labor of love, but when she's on the floor with the fan going to dry her out I just want to fall onto the bed and take a nap.
Wow! That is so cool. The tail almost looks like a living creature while you clean it. That is one AMAZING tail! I might get my first silicone tail from the same buyer. Damn

DO you think using a little bit of color safe bleach could help prevent mould?
To prevent mold clean the inside with lysol wipes. Bleach is probably too harsh on the silicone but I've never tried since my silicone baby is too precious for me to experiment on it :P

How do you clean a fabric tail?
I think courtney made a video on that. (I'd hand wash it with a mild detergent, gently squish (not wring!) the water out and lay it down flat on a drying rack to dry).
I use a detachable shower head to wash the inside of mine
Why did you pick baking soda over the other options? What were the other options? Trying to understand as much of the science as I can (sincerely, a paranoid new tail owner)
