Hi, yes you're right it is quiet and a really nice area for walking. I was pleased we had some good views as we climbed up as the weather changed quickly, giving us no views as we got higher up. We still enjoyed the day and would definitely do this walk again. Thanks for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Hi Stephen, thanks. The weather changed quicker than we expected, but we still had a really good day. Thanks for watching & for the kind comments, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Hi Julie. Thanks. This is another good walk, but be prepared for some boggy ground. The ground was frozen for most of the route when we did it, which was a bonus! The weather changed quicker than we expected, so we were pleased we had some good views on the way up. We still enjoyed the day though. Not sure if you have done Branstree & Selside Pike, but that is another good walk for you and your four legged friend. Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
The change in conditions is very dramatic. It's like you walked from one season into another. Great video thanks for sharing and have a great weekend cheers from barnyz 👍👍👍
Thanks Barnyz. The weather changed a lot quicker than we expected. We were pleased we had some good views heading up, as the visibility was very poor later on. We still enjoyed the day though. Thanks for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Take care & have a good weekend. Cheers. Eddie.
Thanks Dave. The weather changed quicker than we expected, but we still enjoyed the day. It was good that the ground was frozen for most of the route as it would have been really boggy in places. Thanks for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Hi Alan. Thanks. The weather changed quicker than we expected, but we still enjoyed the walk. Pleased we got some good views on the way up to Grey Crag. The ground was frozen for most of the route, which was a bonus as it would have been boggy in places. Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Great to see you both back out enjoying another walk. Nice to see a sprinkling of snow around. It looks rather chilly! Think I'll save this one for the summer. Loved the waterfalls and the path through the valley near the end. Thanks again.
Hi Peter. Yes it was good to be back out again. The weather changed quicker than we expected and it was really cold as we got higher up. It was a nice walk back through the valley and the waterfalls were good to see. Definitely a walk we would do again, but in better weather next time! Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Hi Eddie, another excellent video that we enjoyed watching in bed on Sunday morning. It just shows how the weather can change up there. Sue kept shouting at you to put your hood up. You looked very cold ❄️ Looking forward to your next production, best regards from Sue and me 👍
Hi David. Thanks. The weather changed a lot quicker than we expected but we still had a great day. We were pleased we had some good views on the way up, before the weather changed. Somebody else left a comment saying I should have been wearing a hat, I tend to get too hot with a hat or hood up. Thanks for watching & commenting David, it is always appreciated. Best Wishes to you both from Carol & Myself.
Hi Anthony, you are right, we certainly did get all four seasons in one day, ha! We still enjoyed the day, despite the weather. We have both enjoyed the last two walks in this area ( The Kentmere Valley & Longsleddale) and definitely will be returning to explore more. Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Cheers. Eddie.
Now then young man.... I love all your work my friend, you know that. However in last half of this video, I was shivering just watching you walking in freezing fog, snow and ice without a hat! Coz I'm a southern softie 😁
Hi Vince, really good to hear from you. Sorry for the delay in replying to your comment. The weather changed so quickly, we started off with some great views but it changed so fast to having no views! A hat, no it wasn't cold enough for a hat, ha! A steep climb at the start, but another really nice walk we would do again ( in better weather!) Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Take care & Best Wishes from Carol and me.
Hi John. The weather changed a lot quicker than we expected, so we were pleased we had some good views on the way to Grey Crag. We still had a great day, despite the weather. I nearly put my hat on, it was in my bag, but I always get too hot wearing a hat, so I braved the cold instead. Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Nice video Eddie. Again like you’re last I did this route I reverse. Coming down into sadgill I did the top stile and ended up down a bit if a gulley and climbed over a wall in an extremely undignified manner 🤣Again I had great inversions over Mardale but crag over shipman and kentmere which cleared over Harter. Then into the ones you did first. Cheers Ed
Thanks Pete, I will have to try and do the routes in the direction you take, I might catch an inversion, ha! Sounds like a good walk you did, taking in Shipman Knott, Kentmere Pike & Harter Fell aswell. This was another walk we enjoyed, despite the change in the weather conditions. Thanks again Pete for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Looked like you were in for a really good day weather wise. I was going to ask how you did it, but then your weather changed just like the rest of us. We're planning to get to the caravan end of march, can't wait. Only 3 W's to go. Another great video, thanks.
Hi Alan, yes our luck with the weather finally ran out, ha! It changed a lot quicker than we expected but we still had a good day. The ground was frozen for most of the route, which was a bonus, otherwise it would have been boggy in places. Fingers crossed the weather is good for you at the caravan. 3 to go for you, that is great. Have you decided which one you are doing for your final fell? Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Another great hike and video Eddie. I think you must be working to a careful plan as I can't remember seeing another video of that area before. I was following the route on the OS App and it didn't show many paths but it looked like there were several good paths across the hills and ridges or maybe you are both excellent navigators! Looked cold at the tops and nowhere to shelter but you did well to do so much whilst the rest of us are warming ourselves at home. Looking forward to your next walk, regards, Ashley
Thanks Ashley. The weather changed a lot quicker than we expected, so we didn't hang around. The paths were fairly clear to see, for most of the route, which helped when the visibility was poor. It was a beautiful start to the day, but it was really cold as we got higher up. Another walk we both enjoyed, despite the weather. Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Agreed the first bit is steep . Pity about your views did the Caisley weather spell let you down this time . Great video anyway . I enjoyed my walk doing those fells so much I added Kentmere Pike and Shipman Knotts .
Hi Ian, we did not expect the weather to change so early, our luck had to run out sometime with the weather, ha! We will just have to do it again in "Caisley Weather" ha! We still enjoyed the day and would do this walk again. Thanks for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Cheers. Eddie.
Another great video Eddie. Looked chilly up top! I’ve just got back from my Summer Mountain Leader Training course in Llanrwst. The morning of our wild camp we had 6 inches of snow! I’ll try and put it into a video tomorrow on my channel. Best wishes, Matt
Hi Matt, thanks. It certainly was chilly as we got higher up, but we still had a great day. The weather changed quickly from clear blue skies to low cloud with poor visibility. Your training course sounds great, even with 6 inches of snow! I will keep an eye on your channel. Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
@@eddiecaisley5746 thanks Eddie, hopefully I’ll have it on the channel In the next few days. See what you think when it goes on! We did navigating of contour lines, poor visibility navigating around the Moelwyns, went up Tryfan and did group safety, did rope work and a wild camp. An interesting week!
Another super video Eddie. Great views over the valley early on. It looks like a different day from when you set off as to when you were up top. It looked bitterly cold up there. You could do with a woolly hat Eddie. Does your head not get cold? I'm hoping for a bit of snow so I can get some winter wonderland photos of our beautiful Lake District. Loved watching as always Eddie. Thanks for posting.
Thanks David, the weather changed quicker than we expected so we were pleased we had some good views on the way up. Funny you should mention the hat, Carol says it makes her feel even colder just looking at me on days like this as I never wear a hat! I always get too hot, even on the coldest days with a hat on. It would be good to get some decent snow as the Lake District does look stunning in the snow. Thanks again for watching and commenting David, it is always appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
That looked a canny pull at first mind and funny how you started in your normal weather and ended up with my weather! To be fair, it must be 3 years since I have had a snow hike and really missing it. Great views going across the Fell but it looked real boggy but shame you started to lose the views from Grey Crag, which then really pulled in by the time you got to Harrop Pike. Carol looked frozen on Tarn Crag and I bet you were both pleased to get back to the car. Cheers Alan
Hi Alan, the first bit was really steep, Carol's water bottle dropped out of her bag and rolled down the hill. I had to chase it down the hill and get it back, ha! We couldn't believe how quick the weather changed, we knew it was going to change, but never expected it so quick! The ground was frozen for most of the route, otherwise it would have been boggy. Thanks for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Cheers. Eddie.
Hi Jon, the weather changed sooner than we expected, our luck finally ran out with the weather, ha! We still enjoyed the walk and had a good day, it was just a bit too cold to hang around on the tops! Thanks again for watching & commenting Jon, it is always appreciated. Cheers. Eddie.
Thanks Eddie, I was wondering about the best way to get those two outlying Wainwrights 🙂 Do you have to head NNW to hit the Brownhowe Bottom Bridlepath, or is there a steeper path WNW along the fence down the side, coming out by the waterfalls at the bottom?
Hi , you could follow the path North from Sadgill and head along the valley bottom to the Waterfalls and old Quarry workings and head up to Tarn Crag first, this would mean a steep descent from Grey Crag at the end of the walk. It is a really nice walk either way. Thanks for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Cheers. Eddie.
That's a lovely quiet area of the Lakes Eddie....love the views along Longsleddale on the way up....

Another fantastic walk right up my street walk. Thank you so much. All plotted and on my maps and to do list.

A great day and typically the lakes never fails to skimp on the weather atb Dave 😎🥶👍

Great video Eddie as always. You certainly got a mixture of weather on that one. Look forward to getting these ones done.
