We're back! We decided to take a little bit of a longer break this time after the chaos that was making the FamilyJules7x medley. We've actually had this cover ready since around New Year's Day, so it was weird to have to learn the tab we'd written all over again to record it!
Persona 4 is a really good game. I'm playing through the Golden version at the moment and the soundtrack is incredibly effective, and this theme has always stood out a lot to us. It's so happy and full of life that we felt we just had to cover it! We also put in a bit of another song from the game that we love, consider it a teaser for a future cover we're working on :)
After working out the acoustic guitar chords, I fell in love with how much fun the part was to play so I begged Anne-Sophie to let me do it on the recording. So behold my very mediocre guitar skills! We tried a bunch of new stuff mixing wise too, like double tracking the acoustic guitars and using panning for little harmonies. We'd written some little original "melodies" for the intro and realised they worked pretty well as harmonies for the rest of the song :D It's also the first time I decided to try my hand at programming some synth arpeggios, so that's nice and all.
Oh and thanks so much to everyone who subscribed! Our number has more than doubled since the contest so we'd just like to say thanks to everyone who took the time to check out our medley and enjoyed it :)
We should be back to releasing covers every two weeks now, and we have a whole bunch of really varied covers waiting in the wings, with a classic Zelda song coming next time. Also we're working on the second Sapphire medley slowly but surely :)
