I may be showing my age now ,but the bolts where a pre production idea ,it was meant to be a large circlip ,but they stuck with the bolts..A bit you probably do not know about is the L shaped spacers that fit between the disc and hub ,there are 2 different types ,1 for the rear hubs and 1 for the front so 1 is smooth and 1 is ribbed ,from what we get taught if you fit the smooth one on the wrong hub it can cause a overheat situation ,I honestly can't remember which is which ,we just fit the ribbed to all axles and no overheat issues...Designers do not care as long as it lasts out of warranty lol...A tip for future is an impact screwdriver ,so as you hammer it ,you shock it as well as rotating it ..I have found after many many years on these hubs when the bolt shears ,the stub extractor that hammer on the stud with the spiral that grips work well...As a rule we would change the exciter ring and the sensor if it doesn't move

Hello Chris, i agree, those Daf disc bolts are awful! What i do, is after removing hub/disc assembly, i cut the disc in five equal places, without scoring the hub, using a 12" disc cutter. With a big hammer, i knock the disc off the hub in five pieces, leaving the rusty waisted bolts protruding from the spokes of the hub. Then heat each spoke, sometimes red hot, with the oxy gas & using grips loosen the bolts- i hav'ent broken one yet. I always fit genuine Daf discs 'cos they don't come loose. Keep up the good work!

Great Vid Chris. Good tip for those bolts is to smash them first with a hammer and a punch of sorts to brake the rust off. hammer socket and then 3/8 breaker bar and prevents the snapping. then wizz them off with the 3/8 and job good

Hi Chris , I see someone is now recording in 4k 👍🏻👍🏻
I think the manufacturers realise there is more in servicing and parts than the initial cost of the vehicle ...
I think we come from a time when parts used to be cleaned and machined and refitted.
That one bolt .....I think we could all write a book about how things are going well until it shears !!! My worst was an exhaust mount ....arghhhhh!
I don't think that 13mm ring spanner will ever be found again I threw it that hard into a field 🤣🤣
What a decent young man Joe is ...dressed for the country , happy getting his hands dirty and listens !! Unique in these days of snap chat !
*I think you've got Josh out the shit enough to not pay to the £20!*
Strugglers Gym open for business! The yellow thing is a buoy to protect the hull as you come into dock or are moored.....probably off a canal boat ..
    Whoop whoop 😁!!
    Be safe , be kind G 🦉🦉🙏

Why is oil light flashing on the struggle bus😂. . .Does the service counter/plan need resetting? Usually, it won't do routine regen on dpf if that's flashing as thinks oil is dililuted and needs changing. I'd be tempted to reset if oil has been changed fairly recently or fire some new oil in and reset😝

Use a tap wrench handle for the extractor. Make sure the hole is big (deep) enough and smack the extractor smartly with a hammer to set it properly. Don't miss. There are also straight fluted extractors and spline extractors. The splined ones are for fine work. I like the straight type because it grabs a longer area.

So with the thing in that state or worse as some are, after all the time taken to get all the broken bolts out (you were lucky with just one), clean everything up, fit all the wedges and bolts and the get the thing on the axle you find the disc runs out by some ridiculous amount which will shake the driver's teeth out every time he brakes. Fit a new hub and disc with the bearings already in it & lob the old lot away. If you were charging main dealer rates the cost probably works out the same with the time saved.
