Thanks for the videos feels like im there with you struggiling !
In all the years I’ve been around boats and worked around shipping I’ve never seen anyone turn a mooring buoy into part of a boxing gym! 😂😂😂. Brilliant mate and it’s things like this which make this channel ⚓️⚓️⚓️
I may be showing my age now ,but the bolts where a pre production idea ,it was meant to be a large circlip ,but they stuck with the bolts..A bit you probably do not know about is the L shaped spacers that fit between the disc and hub ,there are 2 different types ,1 for the rear hubs and 1 for the front so 1 is smooth and 1 is ribbed ,from what we get taught if you fit the smooth one on the wrong hub it can cause a overheat situation ,I honestly can't remember which is which ,we just fit the ribbed to all axles and no overheat issues...Designers do not care as long as it lasts out of warranty lol...A tip for future is an impact screwdriver ,so as you hammer it ,you shock it as well as rotating it ..I have found after many many years on these hubs when the bolt shears ,the stub extractor that hammer on the stud with the spiral that grips work well...As a rule we would change the exciter ring and the sensor if it doesn't move
use left hand drill bits to remove broken bolts and use a 1st tap taper not a plug tap to help recut the thread easier well done Chris keeping the struggle going
it is nice to chris and josh taking an interest in there children giving them confidance it is so emotional seeing the kids all so happy and the little baby, joe helping you today chris and your son on the boxing equipment you built he knows what he is doing awwwwww i wish all dads were like you and josh chris and all them kids are a credit to you all, when you said to joe you do not have to do anything now and he answered no you dont and you get all the money chris lol i realy enjoyed watching that the banter is great whooopie whoopie out
Chris I sent you the extension lead via Partic. I ordered it from e bay and had it delivered to them as that's your second home . You were struggling with the welder the other week . Might make one job less of a struggle. Keep it up , bloody good show 😆
Right discs Chris! Just new and improved 😁😁😁also with Daf and Volvo discs I’ve always cut the disc in 3 with a 9” welt the disc with a sledge breaks off like a terrys choccy orange. Relives the pressure of the bolts. Spray them, heat them all come out every time 👍😁
@@Professional-struggler I’m good mate, hope you’re lot are too…..no worries, you’ve always got something going on…..I don’t know where you find the time….👍💪🇮🇲
Hello Chris, i agree, those Daf disc bolts are awful! What i do, is after removing hub/disc assembly, i cut the disc in five equal places, without scoring the hub, using a 12" disc cutter. With a big hammer, i knock the disc off the hub in five pieces, leaving the rusty waisted bolts protruding from the spokes of the hub. Then heat each spoke, sometimes red hot, with the oxy gas & using grips loosen the bolts- i hav'ent broken one yet. I always fit genuine Daf discs 'cos they don't come loose. Keep up the good work!
Never say die. A good investment might be a set of left hand drill bits. They have got me out of many situations such as this one. Keep up the good work, you are an inspiration to us all.
Broken bolts are not good. I watched a video by diesel pump uk, he used an impact torx after drilling through bolt. Ive used this twice myself and it works!.
You Never fail to get me in my emotions bro ! Your such an inspirational dad . Seeing you do that gym then to see the boys reaction ! It was priceless!! Your raising kids to live in reality mate and it’s great to see . ❤
Chris you need a set of square extractors, they don't spread out the broken bolt. I've also have had luck with the fine spiral type, the shoulder bottoms out against bolt and assists in removal. Have tried all just need to be calm lol and it will work out lol
Nice 1 Chris, again you make me smile. Your Lad was well pleased with his gym. You made his day, keep up the struggle and keep smiling. Say hello to Josh and see you on the next one, woop woop.
Chris those discs aren’t wrong I’ve fitted that style in the past, it’s like a newer updated design to get away from those silly little clips. even trp sell them too👍🏼
Great Vid Chris. Good tip for those bolts is to smash them first with a hammer and a punch of sorts to brake the rust off. hammer socket and then 3/8 breaker bar and prevents the snapping. then wizz them off with the 3/8 and job good
Hi Chris , I see someone is now recording in 4k 👍🏻👍🏻 I think the manufacturers realise there is more in servicing and parts than the initial cost of the vehicle ... I think we come from a time when parts used to be cleaned and machined and refitted. That one bolt .....I think we could all write a book about how things are going well until it shears !!! My worst was an exhaust mount ....arghhhhh! I don't think that 13mm ring spanner will ever be found again I threw it that hard into a field 🤣🤣 What a decent young man Joe is ...dressed for the country , happy getting his hands dirty and listens !! Unique in these days of snap chat ! *I think you've got Josh out the shit enough to not pay to the £20!* Strugglers Gym open for business! The yellow thing is a buoy to protect the hull as you come into dock or are moored.....probably off a canal boat .. Whoop whoop 😁!! Be safe , be kind G 🦉🦉🙏
Sometimes if i haven't got an extractor set I just drill a hole then tap a torx bit into it, works most the time, can't beat an oxyacetylene torch though for getting things moving again.
Need to use square type extractor as for spiral extractor I've found that the short one that bottoms out on broken bolt works fairly decent last choice drill and retap gd luck
Really good dad Chris. Little time and effort is massive in my eyes kids love dad's that are creative. My kids go to school and play on something and me son goes my dad could make that lol
Hi Chris. Every time I watch your vids. You always make me laugh or smile. Your boy looked well please with his strugglers gym. Snapped bolt, blunt drill and tap broken most people would have had enough not you. You just get on with it. Have a good week mate 👍
Use a tap wrench handle for the extractor. Make sure the hole is big (deep) enough and smack the extractor smartly with a hammer to set it properly. Don't miss. There are also straight fluted extractors and spline extractors. The splined ones are for fine work. I like the straight type because it grabs a longer area.
Great vidoe Chris mate and that gym you have made looks really brilliant he looks really happy that you got him that bargain of a punch bag lol keep up the great work mate loved watching you this week and I hope you had a good Easter week with the family
Why is oil light flashing on the struggle bus😂. . .Does the service counter/plan need resetting? Usually, it won't do routine regen on dpf if that's flashing as thinks oil is dililuted and needs changing. I'd be tempted to reset if oil has been changed fairly recently or fire some new oil in and reset😝
It's ok them reflectors lighting up when he's with the vehicle but reflectors are meant to illuminate when a vehicles headlights shine on them when it's parked up in the dark From the vehicle inspectors rules. (a) Reflector: (i) colour or position not in accordance with the requirements
That oil can warning light flashing is requesting an oil change. You can reset it through the pedals once some. Best keep on top Of the oil on those engines as they can get diluted.
Excellent video Chris..... As for snapped bolts...... Imagine working on a 1936 Austin Seven and spapping a manifold stud that goes into an ally block..... Well that was me last week, take a look on my channel for the video.
So with the thing in that state or worse as some are, after all the time taken to get all the broken bolts out (you were lucky with just one), clean everything up, fit all the wedges and bolts and the get the thing on the axle you find the disc runs out by some ridiculous amount which will shake the driver's teeth out every time he brakes. Fit a new hub and disc with the bearings already in it & lob the old lot away. If you were charging main dealer rates the cost probably works out the same with the time saved.
You are a good dad Chris, you really love your kids. You make time to do stuff for them and spend time with them.
