Apart from the fact that you can really play as Zelda... I'm really glad that there are still top-down Zeldas, because they always felt completely different to me than the 3D Zeldas.
I always figured that sooner or later top down Zelda will come back. it's the more OOT type of Zelda that I'm concerned about because BOTW and TOTK are different then OOT when it comes to playstyle even though they are both 3D and in a 3rd person view

I'd call this a Spin Off Sequel (though this game starts before the previous game was supposed to end)
i was so hyped for this when i first saw it thinking it was like a new game in the style of the links awakening remake, but i went CRAZY when i saw it was a ZELDA game where you play AS ZELDA (hopefully for the full game!!!) AND THE ECHO MECHANICS ARE SUCH A COOL WAY TO PUT THE CREATIVITY OF BOTW INTO THE 2D GAMES I AM SO EXCITED AAAAA
it is crazy how many quality titles the Zelda series has and everyone plays so differently from one another.

It warms my cold hear seeing people excited for video games. A lot of reactions to the Zelda game was: it's a remake, and then people just lost it.

Even though we may have not had a playable Princess Zelda in Tears of the Kingdom and see more of her journey in the past, this trailer have fulfill me with such excitement.
I have been waiting for this since Skyward Sword and Princess Peach: Showtime.

I definitely am getting a bit of remake fatigue from Nintendo so I'm glad we don't have to wait long for a new and original 2D Zelda release.
Nintendo's creativity is King. It's why they stood the test of time.

I'm definitely intrigued and picking this up day one. I often say that I wish game developers would make smaller, more experimental games and I'm super glad to see it happen here. Though I hate to admit, I'm a pretty disappointed that when we finally get Zelda in a starring role, she's not the Smash Bros-esque mage I always wanted.
I haven't played the Link's Awakening remake because the plastic Funko Pop style just doesn't resonate with me, but...
Yeah, this checks the "playable Zelda"/"female protagonist" and "new top-down Zelda" boxes, so I'm excited and a pre-order is unavoidable.
