Hey Pranay, I'm a 28 year old. I've seen quite a few videos of yours and think we have a very similar mindset.
Also residing in Mumbai, would love to catch up for some coffee / green tea to have some more clarity and learn from you.
Hi Sohail, thanks for your comment! I'm in Gurgaon but if I come to Mumbai, would love to catch up :)
Next session: Tax season - recommendations on services to use and or how you ensure you file correctly with all the revenue streams being accounted for
Get a CA 😜
@@pranayk37 exactly the point, who's a CA you recommend?
VPF also has a demerit.. unlike PPF where you have the option to extend for a block 5 years and continue to do so indefinitely.. corpus keeps growing with zero tax on redemption. While there is a difference in current interest rates but VPF is tied with a job while PPF is not.
True. VPF is tied to a job. Make hay while the sun shines I guess
Pranay, quick question, how is VPF and GILT fund better than an FD?
Not a qq, will need an elaborate video :)
But tldr is that there used to be tax benefits in a VPF over FD. Which are now restricted to 2.5L only.
Debt funds also used to enjoy tax only at the end of the holding period which leads to more compounding impact. That has also been discontinued last year.
So to be honest, not much of a difference now. Will research more on this and maybe make a video, thanks for your question!
Very difficult to nail the basics, adding timestamps & subtitles (even though your videos don't need it) adds that ease which is appreciated by the viewers (at least I do so).
My first video was the card collection, enjoying these videos, deserved a subscribe hit :)
Thank you for your encouragement!
For the Debt portion any reason of picking Debt funds over Arbitrage Funds? Arbitrage Funds help save a lot on Tax aspect as your Slab Rate will be very high as compared to LTCG of 12.5% on Arbitrage Funds as they are taxed as Equity
I use arbitrage fund in place of liquid funds or savings account to park funds. But gilt funds will/should give higher returns that arbitrage funds over the longer term
@@pranayk37 assuming returns around 7.5% and Tax @12.5% will give you a return of 6.56%. To match this through debt funds @30% slab rate you'll have to make a return of 9.375% which the GILTs might not always offer.
So you can even consider exploring Arbitrage Funds for the Longer horizon debt investment
Pranay, I would really like to have your insight on Term Insurance and Health Insurance, and do you support the rationale of having a separate Health cover policy from a corporate one. What's your routine for staying fit am sure there's something that you do which is keeping that jawline sharp :) .
Video on health insurance is coming up next week!
Also training for an Ironman 😂😜
Hey Harsh, hope you saw the latest video on super top up health insurance
Is it worth using platinum travel card post 4L spends in a year? If not, then which one to use, axis atlas or infinia?
It'll give 1MR point for every 50 Rs spent. Infinia gives much higher returns at 3.3% so I'll recommend that over plat travel after 4 lacs
Soon 3k sir, congratulations ❤🎉
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you for answering my question PK
You're welcome!
Hi Pranay, does it make sense to do a swipe of 4 l with magnus card for car downpayment ? I will be getting 9000 pts for first 1.5 l spend and 43750 for next 2.5 l spend. So total 52750 which is equivalent to roughly 38 k . Considering the 2% swipe charges my dealer is asking for, I shell out 8000 apx, still saving 30k . Is there any caveat to this that I am missing out ? I have diners black as well , FYI .
How do you plan to redeem these points? What value do you think you can get out of these points? Also - worth checking if there is any cap on the maximum number of points that you can earn in a day
If there is no limit on the daily points you can earn, this sounds good to me
@@pranayk37 I don’t think magnus has daily points capping. I will convert to accor points later which has a 0.4% conversation currently and roughly 1.8 rs per point post conversion.
Hi, seeing your video where you got AMEX Platinum card , I applied and got one for myself. Later, I was told by AMEX guys that from this financial year they are not having free companion card. I was told I need to pay annual fee for my AMEX Travel card. So, is annual fee for your AMEX travel waived off and if so did you fight battle for this.
I haven't taken an amex travel companion card, I have taken the companion card for the amex platinum charge card.
Annual fee is not waived off for my amex travel either and I pay 5K annual fee
What kind of mutual fund should i use if my goal is 15years from now
I can't recommend what you do. I can only share what I'm doing. I'm investing in an equity index fund which has a mix of large cap, mid cap and small cap stocks. And has only 30 stocks so is less diversified than nifty 50: Uti low volatility index fund.
to 100k 🚀🚀
Thank you 💛
How did you plan your house purchase?
I didn't actively plan for it. Just consistently kept saving over the years aggressively. Took a big loan and indebted for life hahah
@@pranayk37 seems like there's no other way than getting indebted for life if you want to buy a decent house in India
Super helpful, thanks PK. Also Boring is sexy.
