The verses and lyrics were great, but my only issue is with the instrumentals. Erick could have made more than half of those beats with one hand tied behind his back. In fact, the only ones that really stuck out to me where "The Odyssey", "Good Grief", and "Your Favorite Rap Song". But wait! I am not in ANY WAY telling Erick he fucked up. Prior to 3001, in their 2 mixtapes - DRUGS and BetterOffDEAD - Erick used samples heavily, like, as in almost every song. While most producers use them as a way to be lazy, Erick used them how samples are meant to be used. For example, a track on DRUGS titled "Friday" combines Rob Ayers Ubiquity, Mary J. Blige, and Dr. Dre into one track, and it is great. Now that they made an official studio album, there are a lot of issues with samples/copyright, so they had to tone it down a bit. I still love the album tho.
