I'll take the "world's best mounted gun" claim with a pinch of salt. Tall claims aside, India makes some of the worst shells in the world. A large portion of them are either duds or they misfire. When we haven't mastered the process of making high-quality shells, I seriously doubt that we have made the best mounted gun in the world. The bluster must be toned down for better quality.

I think the reason why India is so particular and calculating so much regarding its artillery pieces is China, our main adversary's battle tactic and primary strategy is artillery and rocket force based. China believes that if an enemy is overwhelmed by massive firepower in a short high intensity battle/war then their objectives can be achieved. Clearly, the Indian army understands it and is very particular in developing an effective counter strategy to nullify any future Chinese attempts at changing the status quo.
If one were to go through recent restructuring and repositioning of our mountain strike corps it would be more clear that the Indian army is developing and maintaining high altitude position with sufficient artillery and attack helicopters to defend and repel Chinese misadventures, if any.

@@shaktimaan1064 Geography plays a crucial role via-a-vis China. It's not possible to generalise such a niche concept. I did mention about the rocket force, and heavy artillery guns on heights in the Himalayas are way too strategic, 6×6/8×8 truck mounted artillery with air reconnaissance is a much cheaper and effective solution.
When will they do the test with defective shells?

Don't forget that the Indian army Will test this gun on Mars as well. So we have to wait till ISRO develops a capable enough rocket which will have a "textbook" perfect launch to carry it to Mars.

Indian defence forces are always reluctant to go for indigenous weapons. No weapon is perfect when it is developed and made first time. Only incremental improvements over time makes it better when it is put to use. Problem is that our armed forces always want a perfect weapon. Although even foreign weapons procured for armed forces lack many capability but that is acceptable to our forces. This is nothing but mindset that we can not make good weapons, it has to go.

To speed up the trails why shouldn't we make more prototypes for trails according to the weather conditions and altitude,it would save a lot of time and in current geo politics things can change very fast so we must speed up in acquisition.

Since private sector is involved, i trust Indian gun, otherwise DRDO and public sector are horrible...they have tendency to push bad products....i personally want Indian systems only but that meets the armed forces needs, they are the one fighting, it's not DRDO....i have bad experience of DRDO in late 90S and early 2000s.... especially after parliament attack..... whatever DRDO promised was far from reality
I cannot disclose my experience due to secrecy and well being of the nation, to say Armed forces personnel are anti india is utter nonsense....they are the ones who's life's are at take, DRDO must work in mission mode with Armed forces project management

Our Indian Army procurement is like change requirement with respect to time, as time changes our army requirements is changing and this will cop up with foreign weapon and indigenous weapons ignored although it's good weapons but simply changing requirements and procure importer weapons , this our army plying game.
