Nah she said the correct name. It's just childish fun. The story behind is that he had told her beforehand that they couldn't name it because it was a risk of them laughing because they do that alot, but she did it anyway.

I think your interpretation of the situation is pretty much spot on. A bit childish over the name of the typhoon as it might sound in Swedish. I think it was the typhoon Fitow from 2007, but I might be wrong. I don’t remember this one personally. 😅

There also is a very famous quite rude song named Brittas fitta, which I guess is what everyone started thinking about and just lost it. But with that said, I don't think the slip up in itself was so funny it was deserving of this amount of giggles. But that's just me.

It's not someone making a mistake that is funny to us, it's letting your own imagination run with the mistake and to picture a world where the mistake would have been reality (as with the snail children).
