This video is not meant to DISCOURAGE but rather ENCOURAGE people wanting to becoming a Streamer. It’s okay to feel down about your progress, but just know you’re not alone and there’s thing you can do to help!
So many people think that you make six figures after the first six months. It took me two years to make my first $100.
100% man. It takes time. Developing a healthy balance is necessary so you’re not hurting yourself long term
Looks like you need a vacation! Maybe a nice trip to the mountains of Colorado 🤔😜
The maintains have been calling my name 👀
Tried streaming and RUclips back in 2016-2017 and wanted to make something of it. Making lets plays, going to uni (4hrs of public transport), social life, gym, personal downtime, actually sleeping for 8hrs. All of these things combined together and it was literally impossible to satisfy all of them. This type of journey meant I had to make sacirifices, but I was not ready and willing to throw away all these things, because the other aspects of life made me happy. Otherwise I would of stretched myself to thin and burnt out even before I had gotten anywhere in this field. Sometimes your sanity is not worth it, unless you have the correct measures to have a balanced life in place without burning out.
It's definitely not a path meant for everyone and of course there will be periods of sacrifices needing to be made in order to 'Make it," but in my own personal experience, there are ways to still be successful while not ruining your mental and physical health.
That's why I'm not becoming a streamer lol
Haha that’s not the point of the video! I’m not saying it’s impossible, but I know it can get frustrating. I wanted to share things that have helped me to refocus and get my mental back on track
@@AskCory lol I know I just enyway wouldn't
@@Shadowboiy haha I feel ya man!
First
Great video and like everything in life its finding that middle ground for sure 😃
Easier said than done but not impossible!
@@AskCory Definitely I think that's where routine comes in and then adapting it to suit your lifestyle even then its good to step back now and then have a break and come back better than ever
100%
Professional streamers today, are akin to the "professional video game tester" from 1990's. True, people seek entertainment OR A-MUSEMENT, but everybody loves the idea of a job, until they do it.
You definitely need to look past the surface level " I get to play video games for a living" in order to truly prepare yourself for this type of journey
Streaming is like a gamble, but if you never put your name in the hat you'll never know if you make it.
As long as you have the right tool set and/or are capable of learning those skills, anyone can make it. Some people of course strike gold and explode off one video which are the lucky few. But streaming definitely takes a lot of work. Work I know I’m willing to do, I just need to re-prioritize parts of my life that can keep me healthy for the long term
Just wanna say that I am also a streamer and everything you said in this video is 100% true. I streamed every day for 9 months and after 4 months I had an average of 200 viewers. I kept this average for 3 months and after that, my viewers started to drop down to 100 average. I was unhappy with my viewers, earnings, and life in general and it reflected on my viewers. I wasn't happy on my streams like I used to, I would swear more than I use to and all that until I stopped streaming and turn back on normal life. Now I stream 1-2 times weakly but I am trying to fix my life and start streaming daily again. The biggest reason why I will never stop doing this job is that if I give up they all will be right when they told me to stop.
Appreciate your honestly man! Never feel like you need to prove anything to anyone. Your journey is your own. Do what makes YOU happy
Just the video i was looking for. Thank you!! And good luck on your path!
Glad it found you at the right time! Appreciate the love :)
I'm really glad I saw this video! =]]
Ugly truth or common sense? Same goes for "influencers". Trends don't last and that's exactly the world you are stepping in when you decide to do either.
The point of the video isn’t to diminish people who want to be a content creator. I personally don’t see many people sharing the hard things about it. Only the good things if/when they come out the other end. It’s a viable and realistic career path that can be long term if done correctly. It’s not as black and white as you’re making it out to be.
Wow tysm for that message in this video Scarn! Me too I already live that over 5 times rn and that make happy to see I'm not alone to feel that.
Glad you found it helpful bro! Much love man
I’m guessing you stopped streaming just ran across some of your videos their good man why’d you stop ?
Had to put a pause on it for a bit due to some personal issues and more recently my wife and I had our first child so I've been adjusting to a new normal! I'll be back posting on this channel regularly and streaming soon! Very soon!
@@AskCory I hear that man I got a 2 year old trust me I get it lmfaoooo life’s catches up
Such a great video! I'm looking to start live streaming and getting back to creating video content. This advice applies to literally other areas of my life and I'm looking forward to making the switch in mindset overall so I don't burn myself out when I introduce gaming into the mix! Thanks for sharing this message.
Great video! I agree with everything said.
