I drive a BMW Z3 2.8 . I purchased that with a detachable hardtop, it's nice having a hardtop for security, it's also nice having a soft top as well for weight purposes it sheds about 200 lb also With the hardtop it changes the look of the car entirely. With its wide body and hardtop it can look somewhat more aggressive than the average z3

Where I come from, these cars would be twice as expensive in much worse conditions and with plenty more miles on the clock. Keep up the great work!
I had an MGTF and now have a convertible 330ci E46. The MG is honestly one of the most fun cars I’ve ever driven - though I felt like it was going to break every time I drove it. Also unbelievably cold in winter, the roof literally keeps zero heat in, where the bmw feels like a hardtop in that respect.
Had a bmw 1 series convertible for the past 8 years and they are now below £5k - highly recommend that car as I had no issues and the 2.0 Diesel was quite punchy

VW EOS sits in here, glass tilt and slide sunroof in the hard top. Been driving one for 10 years. Bit unreliable and leaky, but a great car and real 4 seater

I'm thinking if I end up with the budget I'll switch from my current Rover 75 to a hardtop convertible for the summer, possibly a 308 CC or something else, it'd have to be a hardtop because I live in Finland, a hardtop is fine but with a softtop I'd have to keep it in a garage half the year.

Cars With JB yes especially up front under the plastic covers steering racks etc and a little shaft that turns the wheel go bad can’t remember the name but they go bad quite often but they’re real easy to replace and cheap, had one for years a 06 model and it was brilliant until a hole appeared on the chassis and a van wrote it off but it was happy motoring until then haha

I loved my Mercedes Benz 230SLK hard top convertible until the seals on the hydraulic rams that move the roof failed. Hydraulic fluid sprays out of the rams, ruined the headliner and sprays the inside of the trunk or "boot". The pump, four rams and all the lines have to be replaced, you can't just replace the failed parts. The mechanic also told me there are 18 safety switches. The dealer cost to repair was approximately $6,000 US. I found an independant mechanic that specializes in old MB repair. Told me would cost about $3,000 US but he would need it for a few months to work on it between other jobs. I've been waiting 7 months and am looking at summer without the car, (put it in for repair late July 2021, now Feb 2022.). The car is otherwise pristine, well maintained, two owners. I only paid $4,500 US. As much as I like the hard top for comfort and safety when the roof is up, it's too much work to put up and down manually. There are cheaper "fixes" on RUclips but I'm not that handy. If I bought another roadster I would prefer a soft top. If I bought something bigger, I would look more into the mechanics of the roof and potential cost to repair.
I have a Sprint Blue S4 Cab. I love this car. Can’t wait for lock down to finish and go for blasts. It has had some problems, oil leak, steering rack and the throttle body, but when you have had a L322 Range Rover for 10 years, these are minor hick ups and a fraction of the cost. Lol.
Thanks. Another great video and good to see the 9-3 on the list as I'm on my 4th 🙂. My current one is 2012 and probably one of the last ones they made. When it's time to change it I'll be sure to check out to see if you've any other convertible videos. I'm lucky enough to have £15k to spend.
I have a BMW 1 series M Sport convertible and a new shape Audi A3 Cabriolet at my disposal, both lovely but as the BMW has been to the South of France twice it's the Audi that goes there in a couple of weeks

Why? no space in the rear with the hood down. Manufacturers are all going soft top these days for good reason
Both hard too and soft top have a place but I think there’s something really nice about a proper hardtop folding roof.
Definitely agree there!
Maybe a small leapord pattern thong for you this summer while driving your convertible 🤣🤣🤣

Agree
soft top, 205 cti springs to mind !!!!!
Literally just got a hardtop for my e36 today 😂😂😂
Haha congrats on the purchase!
Lol.
Haha you've got to be committed to keep the Range going for that long!
Still got to love a soft top though
Yeah I've got one!
I’ve got the s-line A5 soft top! Lovely car 😉
audi tt roadster 225???
Will be in an upcoming video so decided to go for a different Audi in this one!
@@CarsWithJB Excellent, look forward to the next one
It should be hard tops cuz of the looks but softtops are lighter and also makes a different in the acceleration of the car
Yeah agree on acceleration!
hard tops look better usually but there are soft tops that look good too
i wish the new m8 had a hard top
Yeah agreed - and the M8 in particular is a beaut!
What about Infiniti g37 convertible? Y
Why no xk or xkr
It's in an upcoming video on future classics!
Hi can you do automatic cars please under 2k with insurance for young drivers

@@CarsWithJB yes please mate
What about Volvo C70....????
Yes, A4 cabrio 👌🤩 top.
