    You’ve taught me that even in inclement weather, there’s beauty to be had in photography. I am feeling a little guilty to have skipped out on my scheduled bird walk this morning because of the rain. Such lovely images. Such talent. Love watching the process of how a person creates beauty. The mental process. I am learning so much from you. Keep the videos coming! Can’t wait to see what you do next.

      I always just love to hear from you June. You are a joy to have as a viewer. Don't feel guilty. Just endeavor to get out next time! And as for talent. Thank you. Your bird work is beautiful and it honors me to hear that you enjoy my work. :-)

    Just found your channel. Like some other comments, I wouldn't have thought the weather would've allowed for such great photos. Well done. Looking forward to your film videos. I still have my Nikon FE from 1980 and would like to go back to shooting film. Thanks for a great video.

    Decades with Canon, past 8 years with Olympus, including the OM1 and have sold everything and waiting delivery of an XT5 and the X-H2s with various lens. Have shot in a lot of very adverse conditions over the years, long before we had the weather sealing in modern cameras today, without issue. Grew up in South Florida around salt water and the Everglades constantly. Proper care and most of the time you should be fine. The question you seemed to pose was the Xt5 good for landscape? I think most modern day cameras with the appropriate lens are good for landscape. Like you said, the composition is key. I think I am going to like the Xt5 with its 40 mg, which will allow some cropping, without losing much in detail. I like the Nikon ZF but, age is creeping up on me and I appreciate as my back does, the smaller footprint of cameras like Olympus and FujiFilm. The ZF is just missing some bells and whistles I really wanted and the lens are considerably heavier and expensive and knowing me, I would eventually want the Z8 or Z9 which is out of budget and really gets big and heavy. Great video and enjoyed seeing how the Xt5 did under those conditions.

      I was actually amazed it did as well as it did. Those conditions were pretty extreme. It was soaked to the bone but still didn't allow any water inside. Even the lipped plug doors double lip managed to keep the water out. There was a little in the lip but nothing past that point. Count me impressed for sure! You will love the XT-5 I am sure of it. Its just a fantastic camera all around. Thanks for watching Ron!

    I had the pleasure to take a two day photo trip to the Southern coast of Maine, the first day I photographed the Portland Head lighthouse and later went to Pemaquid point the weather was much nicer than what you are experiencing. The next day I was part of a group working with a pro photographer, John Slonina. He runs Slonina photography. We did a sun rise to sunset photo tour, on of the one day tours that he does, was a great experience and got to take some wonderful photos. Good video.

      It's a pretty amazing place here James as you know. I count myself fortunate enough to have been able to come here to live. I too will be doing tours before long. I am trying to get that geared up this year but it may be next year before that is worked out. Thanks for watching by the way!

      Thanks for your reply, I have always wanted to do a photo shoot in Maine, the time I went was early spring and I would like to go back for a few days, not looking for someone to do class room work like some multi day photo tours but a day or two shoot with some one that is familiar with the area and would lead a day or two tour to focus on photography. Take care Thomas

      @@ThomasPetzwinkler Is the Fujifim X-H2 a viable option instead of the X-T5. I would value your opinion. Also, any thoughts on Sony cameras? Thanks!

    • @ThomasPetzwinkler
      @ThomasPetzwinkler  6 месяцев назад

      It really is a viable option. Sorry I missed your post. As for Sony. I know their cameras are well thought of but if you want something thats built like a tank, Nikon is my go to. The image quality is spot on and the glass is just astounding. Either way, the X-H2 is definitely a beefed up X-T5 and will be more durable in the long run. It's really all in what you need. I hope this helps.

    The camera is one part of the equation when it comes to photography, then the lens and the photographer lastly the subject and lighting.

      I’ve been considering switching to the Fuji from my A7R5. Firstly because it’s still high resolution for the crop sensor, I tend to mostly print in large 4x5 format so when i crop the Sony to 4x5 it’s usually around 50mp which isn’t must different than the Fuji full sensor. I absolutely love the Sony but carrying all the FF gear is becoming slightly tiring.
