Hi, Catherine! I hope you’re well, luv. I still get a lot of pleasure from the gorgeous works of art you created for me years ago. They now sit behind me in my office. 💙
I so relate to this tutorial ! 😁 I like making leaves this way too. For me it’s easier to call it pyro art instead of pyrography. And coincidentally I use all those tools too and for really big sheets of paper I use a long stem bbq lighter ❤️ thanks for the smile
✨💖✨ Great idea! I'll definitely be using my incense for this. If I had a wood burner (or maybe a soldering iron?) I'd try 'cutting' rough burnt edged shapes and maybe the edges of sheets of paper for a tattered map look. But I'm downsizing thus resisting buying more supplies for now.
Hope you have a blast! If you want to try more wide burned edged, you can run a lighter alongside the edge of the paper and tamp it out as soon as it lights and it will create wavy "rough" edges burned. Alternatively, if you have a heat gun you can hold that to the edge until it lightly burns the edge of the page. It may take some experimenting but those are some other options as well!
Interesting idea ! I doubt I would ever have thought of it. I'm thinking I have a small soldering tool I haven't used in years that might work like the wood burning tool. Guess I'll need to dig it out and try it.
is the paper you didn't like Yupo? it's a polymer, and the wter evaporates leaving the paint behind. And have you tried Masa Paper? Looks like baik when crumpled and painted on with watercolor
I like Yupo, but I prefer not to cut my collage papers, which you have to do with Yupo. Never tried Masa, and now its on my amazon list thanks to you!!!
❤❤ WOW LOVE IT HAVE TO DO THEM TKS LOVE PEACE AND LIGHT 😊
So glad this technique resonated with you!

Love that!
Pretty fun way to revive collage fodder that you’re not very fond of! Can’t wait to see how you use your newest papers in a collage 😀
Thanks so much! 😊

It's definitely worth experimenting with, it's such a fun collage technique for the art "toolbox" 😊
A unique idea! Never thought to do holes, TFS 😊
It's a fabulous layering element!
Totally cool! I love the amoeba shaped holes! I’m thinking a little glue gun tip would burn like a wood burner. I’m going to try it.
Hmmmm, you could be right! Please let me/us know.
I was thinking the same thing😁 It’s certainly hot enough to burn a hole in my leg when I drop it😂
Great idea. Love it and love your nails x
So glad you liked it, and my nails 😉 !

Burning holes would never have occurred to me!
Wow, you watched this fast! It JUST released. Thanks for being the first!
@@catrains.artist I think I saw it right after you posted it. I’ve been contemplating burning holes! 🔥
@@XenobiaF Meant to be!
I love burning holes but get frustrated by how quickly the ember burns out.
That is why the insense stick is cool to use. Doesn't go out until you want it too.
